Ezekiel 16
1 And the word of Yahweh came unto me, saying:
Und es erging das Wort Jahwes an mich folgendermaßen:
2 Son of man Let Jerusalem know her abominations,
Menschensohn, halte Jerusalem ihre Greuel vor
3 Therefore shalt thou say— Thus saith My Lord. Yahweh To Jerusalem, Thine origin and thy birth, were of the land of the Canaanite, — Thy father was the Amorite And thy mother a Hittite
und sprich: So spricht der Herr Jahwe zu Jerusalem: Deine Abstammung und dein Ursprung sind aus dem Lande der Kanaaniter: dein Vater war Amoriter und deine Mutter Hethiterin.
4 And, as for thy birth, in the day thou wast born, Thy navel-cord was not cut, And, in water, wast thou not bathed to cleanse thee, — And, as for being salted, thou was not salted, And, as for being bandaged, thou wast not bandaged.
Und was deine Geburt betrifft: an dem Tage, an dem du geboren wurdest, wurde weder deine Nabelschnur abgeschnitten, noch wurdest du mit Wasser abgewaschen, noch mit Salz abgerieben und in Windeln gewickelt.
5 No eye, threw a shield over thee, by doing for thee one of these things taking pity on thee, - But thou wast cast out on the face of the field Because thy person, was abhorred, in the day thou wast born.
Niemand blickte mitleidig auf dich, daß er dir eins von diesen Dingen erwiesen hätte, um Erbarmen gegen dich zu üben; sondern du warst hingeworfen aufs freie Feld - so gering schätzte man dein Leben an dem Tag, an dem du geboren wurdest!
6 And I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, thrusting about thee in thy blood, And said to thee— Despite thy blood, live! Yea I said to thee— Despite thy blood, live!
Da kam ich an dir vorüber und sah dich in deinem Blute zappeln und sprach zu dir: die du daliegst in deinem Blute, bleibe leben!
7 Into myriads—like the bud of the field, made I thee, And thou didst increase and become well grown, and didst attain to most excellent adornments, — Thy breasts were well-formed And thy hair was grown, But thou thyself wast utterly naked.
Und ich badete dich mit Wasser und wusch dir das Blut ab und salbte dich mit Öl.
8 And I passed by thee and looked upon thee and lo! thy time was the time for endearments, So I spread my skirt over thee, and covered thy shame, And took an oath to thee And entered into covenant with thee. Declareth My Lord. Yahweh. And thou didst become mine.
Ich machte dich zahllos, wie die Gewächse auf den Fluren, und du wuchsest und wurdest groß und gelangtest zu höchstem Reize: die Brüste waren steif geworden, und dein Haar sproßte kräftig; aber du warst noch immer nackt und bloß.
9 And I bathed thee in water, and rinsed thy blood from off thee, And anointed thee with oil;
Da kam ich an dir vorüber und sah dich, und es befand sich, daß die Zeit der Liebe für dich da war. Da breitete ich meine Decke über dich und bedeckte deine Blöße und verband mich dir mit einem Eid und ging einen Bund mit dir ein - ist der Spruch des Herrn Jahwe - und du wurdest mein!
10 And clothed thee with an embroidered dress, And sandalled thee in red leather, And wrapped thee about with fine linen, And put over thee a mantle of silk.
Und ich kleidete dich in bunt gewirkte Gewänder und gab dir Sandalen von Seekuhfell; ich umwand dich mit Byssus und hüllte dich in Seide.
11 Then decked I thee with ornaments, And put bracelets upon thy hands, And a neckchain upon thy throat;
Ich schmückte dich mit Schmuck, legte dir Spangen an die Arme und eine Kette um deinen Hals.
12 And put a nose-jewel upon thy nose, And earrings in thine ears, And a crown of adorning, upon thy head.
Ich legte einen Reif an deine Nase und Ringe an deine Ohren und setzte dir eine prächtige Krone auf das Haupt.
13 Thus wast thou adorned with gold and silver, And thy raiment was of fine linen and silk and embroidered work, Fine flour and honey and oil, didst thou eat, — And so thou becamest exceedingly beautiful, And didst attain unto royalty.
Und so warst du geschmückt mit Gold und Silber, und deine Kleidung bestand aus Byssus und Seide und buntgewirkten Gewändern. Feinmehl, Honig und Öl genossest du und du wurdest überaus schön und brachtest es bis zur Königswürde.
14 Then went forth thy fame among the nations. for thy beauty, - For perfect, it was—in my splendour which I had put upon thee, Declareth My Lord, Yahweh.
Und dein Ruhm erscholl unter den Völkern wegen deiner Schönheit; denn sie war vollkommen vermöge der Zier, die ich dir angelegt hatte, - ist der Spruch des Herrn Jahwe.
15 Then didst thou trust in thy beauty, And become unchaste, because of thy fame, - And didst pour out thine unchastity upon every passer-by, his it was!
Aber du pochtest auf deine Schönheit und hurtest infolge deines Rufs und gossest deine Hurerei auf jeden Vorübergehenden.
16 Yea thou didst take of thy raiment and madest thee high places of hangings, And didst commit unchastity thereon, - Which ought not to have befallen And not to have come to pass.
Und du nahmst von deinen Gewändern und machtest dir buntscheckige Opferhöhen und hurtest auf ihnen.
17 But thou didst take thine adorning jewels Of my gold and of my silver which I had given thee, And didst make thee images of the male, — And didst act unchastely with them;
Und du nahmst deine Schmucksachen von meinem Gold und meinem Silber, das ich dir gegeben hatte, und machtest dir Mannsbilder daraus und hurtest mit ihnen.
18 And thou didst take thine embroidered raiment, and cover them, - And mine oil and mine incense, didst thou set before them;
Und du nahmst deine buntgewirkten Gewänder und behängtest sie damit und mein Öl und meinen Weihrauch legtest du ihnen vor.
19 And my food which I had given thee, Fine flour and oil and honey wherewith I fed thee, And didst set it before them for a satisfying odour Yea so it was, — Saith My Lord Yahweh.
Und mein Brot, das ich dir gegeben hatte, das Feinmehl, das Öl und den Honig, womit ich dich genährt hatte, das legtest du ihnen vor als lieblichen Geruch - ist der Spruch des Herrn Jahwe.
20 And thou didst take thy sons and thy daughters, Whom thou hadst borne unto me, And didst sacrifice them unto them to be devoured, - Is this of thine unchastity. a light thing?
Und du nahmst deine Söhne und deine Töchter, die du mir geboren hattest, und schlachtetest sie ihnen zum Fraße. Als ob es noch nicht genug gewesen wäre mit deiner Hurerei,
21 Yea thou didst slay my children, — And didst deliver them up. that they should be caused to pass through the fire unto them.
schlachtetest du meine Söhne und gabst sie hin, indem du sie ihnen verbranntest.
22 And in all thine abominations, and thine unchaste ways, thou rememberedst not the days of thy youth, When thou wast utterly naked. When thou wast thrusting about thee in thy blood!
Und bei allen deinen Greueln und deiner Hurerei gedachtest du nicht an die Tage deiner Jugend, als du nackt und bloß warst und in deinem Blute zappeltest!
23 And it came to pass after all thy wickedness, Woe! Woe! to thee, Exclaimeth My Lord Yahweh;
Und nach aller deiner Bosheit - wehe, wehe über dich! - ist der Spruch des Herrn Jahwe,
24 That thou didst build thee a brothel, — and didst make thee a height in every broadway:
da bautest du dir eine Wölbung und machtest dir eine Höhe auf jedem freien Platze.
25 At the head of every road, didst thou build thy height, And bring thy beauty into disgust, And open thy feet to every passer-by, So didst thou make thine unchaste ways to abound.
An jedem Kreuzweg erbautest du dir eine Höhe und schändetest deine Schönheit und spreiztest deine Beine jedem Vorübergehenden auseinander. Und du begingst noch weitere Hurerei:
26 Then didst thou extend thine unchaste acts unto the sons of Egypt—thy neighbour great of flesh, - And caused thine unchaste ways to abound provoking me to anger.
du hurtest nach den Ägyptern hin, deinen Nachbarn mit großem Gliede; und du begingst noch weitere Hurerei, meinen Zorn zu erregen.
27 Lo! therefore, I have stretched out my hand against thee, And diminished thine allotted portion, — And have delivered thee up unto the desire of them who hate thee The daughters of the Philistines, who are ashamed of thy lewd way.
Da reckte ich nun meine Hand wider dich aus und minderte das dir zum Unterhalt Bestimmte und gab dich der Gier deiner Feindinnen preis, der Töchter der Philister, die sich schämen wegen deines unzüchtigen Wandels.
28 Thou didst also extend thine unchastity unto the sons of Assyria, because thou wast insatiable. Yet though thou didst behave unchastely with them, yet even so couldst thou not be satisfied,
Und du hurtest nach den Assyriern hin, ohne dich zu ersättigen; du hurtest mit ihnen und wurdest doch nicht satt.
29 Thou didst therefore cause thine unchaste ways to abound unto the land of Canaan as towards Chaldea. Yet even herewith, wast thou not satisfied.
Und du begingst noch weitere Hurerei nach dem Lande Chaldäa hin; aber auch damit wurdest du noch nicht satt.
30 How weak was thy heart! Exclaimeth My Lord Yahweh, — That thou couldst have done all these things, The doing of a lewd woman without shame:
Wie schmachtend war doch dein Herz! - ist der Spruch des Herrn Jahwe - da du alles dies verübtest, das Thun einer Erzhure,
31 That thou couldst have built thy brothel at the head of every road, And thy height, couldst have made in every broadway, - Yet becamest not as a harlot to lay claim to a harlot’s hire.
da du dir an jedem Kreuzweg eine Wölbung bautest und dir auf jedem freien Platz eine Höhe anlegtest; und doch warst du nicht wie eine Hure, daß du den Buhlerlohn je zu gering gefunden hättest.
32 A wife who committeth adultery, instead of her husband accepteth strangers.
Du ehebrecherisches Weib, die statt ihres Mannes Fremde nahm.
33 To all harlots, they give a present, — But, thou, didst give thy presents to all thy lovers, And didst bribe them to come in unto thee from every side, in thine unchastity!
Sonst giebt man allen Huren Lohn; du aber gabst deinerseits allen deinen Liebhabern Geschenke und bestachst sie, von rings her zu deinen Buhlereien zu dir zu kommen.
34 And so there came about in thee, the reverse of women, in thine unchastity, In that they did not follow thee for purposes of lewdness, — And in that thou gavest a present while, no present, was given to thee So didst thou become, the reverse.
Und so fand bei dir ein Widerspiel von dem statt, was sonst Weiberart ist, bei deinen Hurereien, indem dir nicht hurerisch nachgestellt wurde, vielmehr du Buhlerlohn gabst, während dir kein Lohn gegeben wurde. So wardst du zum Widerspiel.
35 Therefore O harlot, hear thou the word of Yahweh;
Darum, o Hure, höre das Wort Jahwes!
36 Thus saith My Lord Yahweh, — Because thy money, was poured out, and thy shame, was uncovered, in thine unchastity, unto thy lovers, —and unto all thine abominable manufactured gods, even as the blood of thy children, whom thou didst deliver up unto them,
So spricht der Herr Jahwe! Weil deine Buhlerei sich ergoß, und deine Scham bei deiner Hurerei vor deinen Liebhabern und vor allen deinen greulichen Götzen entblößt wurde und wegen des Bluts deiner Kinder, die du ihnen preisgabst, -
37 Therefore behold me! gathering together all thy lovers unto whom thou didst make thyself pleasant, Even all whom thou lovedst, With all whom thou hatedst, — Yea I will gather them together unto thee from every side And will uncover thy shame unto them, And they shall see all thy shame.
deshalb, fürwahr, will ich zusammenholen alle deine Liebhaber, denen du gefallen hast, und zwar alle die, die du gern hattest, samt denen, die du nicht mochtest; die will ich von ringsher gegen dich zusammenholen und will deine Scham vor ihnen aufdecken, damit sie deine ganze Scham sehen.
38 So will I judge thee. with the judgments meted out to adulteresses and shedders of blood, - And will repay thee with the blood of indignation and jealousy;
Und ich werde dich richten nach dem Rechte der Ehebrecherinnen und der Blut vergießenden Weiber und ich werde an dir erweisen Zorn und Eifer.
39 And will deliver thee into their hand. And they shall pull down thy brothel And break in pieces thy heights, And strip thee of thy raiment, And take away thine adorning jewels, - And leave thee utterly naked.
Und ich werde dich in ihre Gewalt geben, und sie werden deine Wölbung einreißen und deine Höhen zertrümmern und werden dir deine Gewänder ausziehen und dir deine Schmucksachen nehmen und dich nackt und bloß lassen.
40 Then will they bring up against thee a gathered host, And they will stone thee with stones, - And cut thee to pieces with their swords;
Und sie werden eine Versammlung wider dich veranstalten und dich steinigen und dich mit ihren Schwertern in Stücke hauen.
41 And burn up thy houses with fire, And execute upon thee judgments before the eyes of many women, —So will I cause thee to cease from acting unchastely, Moreover also a present, shalt thou not give any more.
Und sie werden deine Häuser in Brand stecken und vor den Augen vieler Weiber Gericht an dir vollstrecken, und so werde ich deinem Huren ein Ende machen, und fortan sollst du keinen Buhlerlohn mehr geben.
42 So will I let mine indignation find rest in thee, And my jealousy shall depart from thee, —And I will be quiet, and not be provoked any more.
Und ich werde meinen Grimm an dir kühlen, und mein Zorneseifer wird von dir ablassen, und ich werde mich ruhig verhalten und nicht mehr zürnen.
43 Because thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, But hast enraged me with all these things Therefore also behold! I thy way, upon thine own head, will place Declareth My Lord Yahweh, And thou shalt not commit a crime above all thine abominations
Weil du der Tage deiner Jugend nicht gedachtest und mich durch alle diese Dinge erzürntest, so gebe ich dir nun auch, ha! deinen Wandel auf den Kopf! - ist der Spruch des Herrn Jahwe. Denn du hast mir auch diesen Frevel angethan zu allen deinen Greueln.
44 Lo! every one who useth proverbs, against thee, shall use a proverb saying, — Like the mother, so her daughter!
Fürwahr, jeder Spottvers-Dichter wird den Spruch auf dich anwenden: “Wie die Mutter, so die Tochter!”
45 The daughter of thy mother, thou art! One abhorring her own husband and her own children, — Yea the sister of thy sisters, thou art Who abhorred their own husbands and their own children, Your mother was a Hittite, And your father an Amorite.
Eine echte Tochter deiner Mutter bist du, die ihres Mannes und ihrer Kinder überdrüssig ward, und eine echte Schwester deiner Schwestern bist du, die ihrer Männer und ihrer Kinder überdrüssig wurden. Eure Mutter war eine Hethiterin und euer Vater ein Amoriter.
46 And thine elder sister, was Samaria, she and her daughters, dwelling on thy left hand, — And thy sister younger than thou dwelling on thy right hand was Sodom and her daughters.
Und deine ältere Schwester, das ist Samaria nebst ihren Töchtern, die nördlich von dir wohnt, und deine jüngere Schwester, die südlich von dir wohnt, das ist Sodom nebst ihren Töchtern.
47 Yet not in their ways, didst thou walk, nor according to their abominations, didst thou do, — As though that were quite too little, thou didst corrupt thyself beyond them in all thy ways.
Zwar bist du anfangs nicht auf ihren Wegen gewandelt und hast nicht Greuel wie sie verübt; bald aber triebst du es noch schlimmer als sie in all' deinem Wandel.
48 As I live, Declareth My Lord Yahweh, Very! Sodom thy sister had not done, neither she nor her daughters, —as thou and thy daughters have done.
So wahr ich lebe, ist der Spruch des Herrn Jahwe: deine Schwester Sodom nebst ihren Töchtern hat keineswegs gethan, wie du nebst deinen Töchtern gethan hast!
49 Lo! this became the iniquity of Sodom thy sister, — Pride, fulness of bread, and careless security came to her and to her daughters, And the hand of the oppressed and the needy, she strengthened not.
Fürwahr, das war die Schuld Sodoms, deiner Schwester: Hoffart, Überfluß an Nahrung und sorglose Ruhe ward ihr und ihren Töchtern zu teil, aber die Elenden und Bedürfigen stützte sie nicht.
50 So then they became haughty, and committed abomination before me, - And I took them away. when I saw [it],
Vielmehr wurden sie hochmütig und verübten Greuel vor mir; da that ich sie hinweg, als ich das sah.
51 Nor did, Samaria, commit, one-half thy sins, — But thou didst multiply thine abominations more than they, And didst cause thy sisters to appear righteous, by all the abominations which thou didst commit.
Samaria aber hat noch nicht die Hälfte deiner Sünden begangen; vielmehr hast du es mit deinen Greueln ärger getrieben, als jene, und hast so deine Schwestern gerechtfertigt durch alle deine Greuel, die du verübtest.
52 Thou also bear thine own reproach, which thou didst adjudge to thy sisters, by thy sins in which thou wast more abominable than they, thou didst make them appear more righteous than thou, — Thou also, therefore turn thou pale and bear thine own reproach, for making thy sisters appear righteous!
So trage nun auch du deine Schmach, die du für deine Schwestern ins Mittel getreten bist durch deine Sünden, mit denen du ärgere Greuel begingst, als jene, so daß sie dir gegenüber gerecht dastehen. Darum so schäme du dich und trage deine Schmach dafür, daß du deine Schwestern rechtfertigst.
53 When therefore I bring back their captivity, The captivity of Sodom and her daughters, And the captivity of Samaria and her daughters Then will I bring back thy captivities in their midst:
Denn ich werde ihr Schicksal wenden, das Schicksal Sodoms und ihrer Töchter und das Schicksal Samarias und ihrer Töchter, und ich werde auch dein Schicksal in ihrer Mitte wenden,
54 That thou mayest bear thine own reproach, And take to thyself reproach because of all that thou didst in comforting them.
damit du deine Schmach tragest und beschämt werdest wegen alles dessen, was du verübt hast, indem du ihnen dadurch einen Trost verschafftest.
55 When thy sisters Sodom and her daughters shall return to their former estate, And Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former estate Then thou and thy daughters, shall return to your former estate.
Und deine Schwestern, Sodom nebst ihren Töchtern, sollen wieder auf ihren früheren Stand gelangen, und Samaria und ihre Töchter sollen wieder auf ihren früheren Stand gelangen, und auch du und deine Töchter werden wieder auf ihren früheren Stand gelangen.
56 And Sodom thy sister was never heard in thy mouth, —In the day of thy pride:
Aber von Sodom, deiner Schwester, war aus deinem Munde nichts zu hören in der Zeit deiner Hoffart,
57 Before thy wickedness was discovered, As now, [thou art] the reproach of the daughters of Syria and all round about her the daughters of the Philistines, —who are despising thee on every side.
bevor deine Bosheit offenbar wurde, wie zu der Zeit, da dich die Töchter Edoms schmähten und alle Töchter der Philister, die dich rings verhöhnten.
58 As for thy crime and thine abominations, thou thyself, dost bear them, — Declareth Yahweh.
Deine Unzucht und deine Greuel, die hast du getragen, ist der Spruch Jahwes.
59 For Thus, saith My Lord, Yahweh, Therefore will I deal with thee just as thou hast dealt, - In that thou didst despise an oath by breaking a covenant.
Denn so spricht der Herr Jahwe: Ich verfahre mit dir, wie du verfahren bist, indem du den Eid verachtetest und den Bund brachst.
60 Therefore will I remember my covenant with thee in the days of thy youth, — And will establish for thee a covenant age-abiding.
Doch ich will an meinen Bund gedenken, den ich mit dir in den Tagen deiner Jugend schloß, und will einen ewigen Bund mit dir errichten.
61 Thou shalt therefore remember thy ways and take to thyself reproach, by receiving thy sisters. The older than thou, And the younger than thou, - And I will give them unto thee for daughters Though not by thine own covenant.
Da wirst du an deinen Wandel gedenken und wirst beschämt sein, wenn du deine älteren Schwestern samt den jüngeren nimmst, und ich sie dir als Töchter gebe, aber nicht um deines Bundes willen.
62 But I myself, will establish my covenant with thee— And thou shalt know that I, am Yahweh:
Und ich will meinen Bund mit dir errichten, und du sollst erkennen, daß ich Jahwe bin,
63 To the end thou mayest remember and turn pale, and there be to thee no more, an opening of mouth, because of thy reproach, - In that I have accepted a propitiatory covering for thee as to all that thou hast done, Declareth My Lord. Yahweh.
damit du daran denkest und dich schämest und vor lauter Scham deinen Mund nicht mehr aufthuest, wenn ich dir alles das vergebe, was du gethan hast, ist der Spruch des Herrn Jahwe.
