Ezekiel 11

1 And the Spirit lifted me up, and brought me into the east gate of the house of Yahweh which looketh eastward, and lo! in the opening of the gate, twenty-five men, —and I saw in their midst Jaazaniah son of Azzur and Pelatiah son of Benaiah princes of the people.

L'Esprit m'enleva et m'amena à la porte orientale de la maison de Yahweh, celle qui regarde l'orient. Et voici qu'à l'entrée de la porte, il y avait vingt-cinq hommes, et je vis au milieu d'eux Jézonias, fils d'Azzur, et Pheltias, fils de Banaïas, chefs du peuple.

2 Then said he unto me, Son of man, These, are the men who are devising iniquity, and who are counselling wicked counsel in this city;

Et Yahweh me dit: " Fils de l'homme, ce sont là les hommes qui méditent l'iniquité, et qui donnent de mauvais conseils dans cette ville;

3 who are saying, Not near! let us build houses, — It, is the caldron, and, we, are the flesh!

qui disent: Le malheur n'est pas si proche! Bâtissons des maisons! Cette ville est la chaudière, et nous sommes la viande.

4 Therefore, prophesy against them, —prophesy. Son of man.

C'est pourquoi prophétise contre eux, prophétise, fils de l'homme. "

5 Then fell upon me the Spirit of Yahweh, and he said unto me Say—Thus, saith Yahweh, Thus have ye said O house of Israel, Yea, the things that come up on your spirit, I, know every one.

Et l'Esprit de Yahweh tomba sur moi, et il me dit: " Dis: Ainsi parle Yahweh: C'est ainsi que vous parlez, maison d'Israël! Ce qui monte à votre esprit, moi je le connais.

6 Ye have multiplied your slain in this city, - And have filled her streets with slain.

Vous avez multiplié vos meurtres dans cette ville et rempli ses rues de cadavres.

7 Therefore Thus, saith My Lord Yahweh, Your slain. whom ye have laid in her midst, They are the flesh, and She is the caldron, —when ye are taken out of her midst.

C'est pourquoi ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh: Vos morts, que vous avez étendus au milieu de la ville, c'est la chair, et la ville est la chaudière; mais on vous fera sortir du milieu d'elle.

8 A sword, have ye feared, — And a sword, will I bring in upon you, Declareth My Lord Yahweh.

Vous craignez l'épée, et je ferai venir sur vous l'épée, — oracle du Seigneur Yahweh.

9 So will I take you forth out of her midst, and will deliver you into the hand of foreigners, —and will execute upon you judgments.

Je vous ferai sortir du milieu de la ville, je vous livrerai à la main des étrangers et j'exercerai sur vous mes jugements.

10 By the sword, shall ye fall, Upon the boundary of Israel, will I judge you, —So shall ye know that, I, am Yahweh.

Vous tomberez par l'épée; je vous jugerai à la frontière d'Israël, et vous saurez que je suis Yahweh.

11 This city shall not serve you for a caldron, Neither shall, ye, serve in the midst thereof for flesh, —Near the boundary of Israel, will I judge you,

Cette ville ne sera pas pour vous la chaudière, et vous ne serez pas la viande au milieu d'elle; c'est à la frontière d'Israël que je vous jugerai.

12 So shall ye know that, I, am Yahweh. In whose statutes, ye have not walked And whose appointments, ye have not executed, — But according to the appointments of the nations that are round about you, have ye done.

Et vous saurez que je suis Yahweh dont vous n'avez pas suivi les ordonnances, ni pratiqué les lois; mais vous avez agi selon les lois des nations qui vous entourent. "

13 And it came to pass as I prophesied, that Pelatiah son of Benaiah died, —so then I fell down upon my face and made outcry with a loud voice and said— Alas! My Lord Yahweh! A full end, art thou making of the remnant of Israel?

Comme je prophétisais, Pheltias, fils de Banaïas, mourut; et je tombai sur ma face, et je criai à haute voix, et je dis: " Ah! Seigneur, Yahweh, vas-tu anéantir ce qui reste d'Israël? "

14 Then came the word of Yahweh unto me saying:

Et la parole de Yahweh me fut adressée en ces termes:

15 Son of man Thine own brethren, thine own brethren the men of thy kindred, even all the house of Israel all of it are they to whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, Get you far away from Yahweh, To us, it is that the land, hath been given, for a possession!

" Fils de l'homme, tes frères, tes frères, hommes de ta parenté, et toute la maison d'Israël, ce sont tous ceux à qui les habitants de Jérusalem disent: Restez loin de Yahweh, c'est à nous que le pays a été donné en possession.

16 Therefore, say, Thus saith My Lord. Yahweh, Although I have removed them far away among the nations, And although I have dispersed them throughout the lands Yet have I become to them a sanctuary for a little while, in the lands which they have entered

C'est pourquoi dis-leur: Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh: Oui, je les ai éloignés parmi les nations, je les ai dispersés dans les pays; mais je serai pour eux un sanctuaire pendant un peu de temps, dans les pays où ils sont allés.

17 Therefore say, Thus saith My Lord Yahweh, Therefore will I assemble you from among the peoples, And gather you out of the lands wherein ye have been dispersed, - And will give you the soil of Israel.

C'est pourquoi dis-leur: Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh: je vous rassemblerai du milieu des peuples, je vous recueillerai des pays où vous avez été dispersés, et je vous donnerai la terre d'Israël.

18 So shall they come in thither, — and take away all her detestable things, and all her abominations, out of her;

Ils y entreront et en ôteront toutes ses infamies et toutes ses abominations.

19 And I will give them another heart, And a new spirit, will I put within you, —And will take away the heart of stone out of their flesh, and give them a heart of flesh:

Et je leur donnerai un seul cœur; je mettrai au-dedans d'eux un esprit nouveau; et j'ôterai de leur chair le cœur de pierre, et je leur donnerai un cœur de chair,

20 To the end that in my statutes, they may walk, And mine appointments, they may keep, and do them, — So shall they become my people, And I will become their God.

afin qu'ils suivent mes ordonnances, et qu'ils gardent mes lois et les pratiquent; et ils seront mon peuple, et moi je serai leur Dieu.

21 But as for them who having a heart for their detestable things and for their abominations after their own heart, do walk, Their way upon their own heads, will I render, Declareth My Lord Yahweh.

Quant à ceux dont le cœur suit le cœur de leurs idoles abominables, je ferai retomber leurs œuvres sur leurs têtes, — oracle du Seigneur Yahweh.

22 Then did the cherubim lift up their wings, the wheels also going in unison with them, — the glory of the God of Israel, being over them above.

Alors les Chérubins dressèrent leurs ailes, et les roues se mirent en mouvement avec eux, et la gloire du Dieu d'Israël reposait au-dessus d'eux.

23 Thus went up the glory of Yahweh, out from the midst of the city, —and stood on the mountain, which is on the east of the city.

Et la gloire de Yahweh, s'élevant de dessus le milieu de la ville, s'arrêta sur la montagne qui est à l'orient de la ville.

24 And, the spirit lifted me up, and brought me to Chaldea unto them of the captivity, in the vision by the Spirit of God, —thus went up from me, the vision which I had seen.

Et l'Esprit m'enleva et m'emmena en Chaldée auprès des captifs, en vision, dans l'esprit de Dieu; et la vision que j'avais eue disparut de devant moi.

25 So I spake unto them of the captivity, —all the words of Yahweh which he had shewed me.

Et je racontai aux captifs toutes les choses que Yahweh m'avait fait voir.
