Exodus 28
1 Thou thyself, therefore bring near unto thee—Aaron thy brother and his sons with him out of the midst of the sons of Israel, that they may minister as priests unto me, —Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar sons of Aaron.
Du aber laß aus der Gesamtheit der Israeliten deinen Bruder Aaron nebst seinen Söhnen zu dir herantreten, damit er mir Priesterdienst thue, Aaron, Nadab und Abihu, Eleasar und Ithamar, die Söhne Aarons.
2 And thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother, —for glory and for beauty.
Und du sollst für deinen Bruder Aaron heilige Kleider anfertigen, zur Ehre und herrlichen Zier.
3 Thou thyself, therefore, shalt speak unto all the wise-hearted, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, —and they shall make Aaron’s garments, to hallow him for ministering as priest unto me.
Und rede mit allen Kunstverständigen, die ich mit künstlerischem Geist erfüllt habe, daß sie die Kleider Aarons anfertigen sollen, damit man ihn weihen, und er mir Priesterdienst thun kann.
4 These, therefore are the garments which they shall make—a breastpiece, and an ephod and a robe, and a tunic of checker work, a turban and a girdle, —so shall they make holy garments for Aaron thy brother and for his sons, for ministering as priests unto me.
Dies aber sind die Kleider, die sie anfertigen sollen: Tasche, Schulterkleid, Obergewand, Leibrock aus gewürfeltem Zeug, Kopfbund und Gürtel.
5 They themselves, therefore, shall take the gold, and the blue and the purple, —and the crimson, and the fine linen.
Und sie sollen deinem Bruder Aaron und seinen Söhnen heilige Kleider anfertigen, damit er mir Priesterdienst thue. Und zwar sollen sie dazu das Gold, den blauen und roten Purpur, den Karmesin und den Byssus verwenden.
6 And they shall make the ephod, —of gold, blue and purple crimson and fine-twined linen, the work of a skilful weaver.
Sie sollen aber das Schulterkleid anfertigen aus Gold, blauem und rotem Purpur, Karmesin und gezwirntem Byssus, in Kunstwirker-Arbeit.
7 Two joining shoulderpieces, shall there be to it upon the two extremities thereof that it may be joined together,
Zwei mit ihm verbundene Schulterstücke soll es haben; an seinen beiden Enden soll es mit ihnen verbunden werden.
8 And the curious band for fastening it, that is upon it, like the work thereof of the same, shall it be, —of gold blue and purple and crimson and fine-twined linen,
Und die Binde, die sich behufs seiner Anlegung an ihm befindet, soll von gleicher Arbeit sein und ein Ganzes mit ihm bilden, aus Gold, blauem und rotem Purpur, Karmesin und gezwirntem Byssus.
9 And thou shalt take two onyx stones, —and engrave upon them the names of the sons of Israel:
Hierauf sollst du die beiden Schohamsteine nehmen und in dieselben die Namen der Israels-Söhne eingraben,
10 six of their names, on the one stone, —and the names of the six that remain, on the second stone according to their births:
sechs ihrer Namen auf den einen Stein und die sechs übrigen Namen auf den anderen Stein, nach der Reihenfolge ihrer Geburt.
11 with the work of a stone engraver, like seal-ring engravings, shalt thou engrave the two stones, after the names of the sons of Israel, —to be encircled with settings of gold, shalt thou make them.
Mittels Steinschneider-Arbeit - Siegelstecherkunst - sollst du die beiden Steine gravieren, nach Maßgabe der Namen der Israels-Söhne, und sollst sie mit einem Flechtwerk von Golddraht einfassen.
12 And thou shalt put the two stones upon the shoulderpieces of the ephod, as stones of memorial for the sons of Israel, —so shall Aaron bear their names before Yahweh upon his two shoulders, for a memorial.
Diese beiden Steine sollst du auf den Schulterstücken des Schulterkleids befestigen, als Steine des gnädigen Gedenkens an die Israeliten; so soll Aaron ihre Namen auf seinen beiden Schultern vor Jahwe tragen, daß ihrer gnädig gedacht werde.
13 And thou shalt make ouches of gold;
Ferner sollst du Goldgeflechte anfertigen
14 and two chains of pure gold, like cord, shalt thou make them, of wreathen work, and thou shalt put the wreathen chains on the ouches.
und zwei Kettchen von gediegenem Gold; in Gestalt von gedrehten Schnuren sollst du sie herstellen und sollst diese aus Schnuren gefertigten Kettchen an den Geflechten befestigen.
15 And thou shalt make a breastpiece for giving sentence the work of a skilful weaver, like the work of the ephod, shalt thou make it, of gold, blue, and purple and crimson and fine-twined linen, shalt thou make it.
Weiter sollst du eine Orakel-Tasche anfertigen, in Kunstwirker-Arbeit. So wie das Schulterkleid gearbeitet ist, sollst du sie anfertigen; aus Gold, blauem und rotem Purpur, Karmesin und gezwirntem Byssus sollst du sie anfertigen.
16 Four-square, shall it be double, —a span the length thereof and a span the breadth thereof.
Viereckig soll sie sein, doppelt gelegt, je eine Spanne lang und breit.
17 And thou shalt set therein a setting of stones, four rows of stones, —one row—a sardius, a topaz and an emerald, the first row;
Und du sollst sie besetzen mit einem Besatze von Edelsteinen in vier Reihen: ein Carneol, ein Topas und ein Smaragd sollen der Reihe nach die erste Reihe bilden;
18 and the second row a carbuncle a sapphire and a diamond;
die zweite Reihe ein Karfunkel, ein Sapphir und ein Jaspis;
19 and the third row an opal, an agate, and an amethyst;
die dritte Reihe ein Hyacinth, ein Achat und ein Amethyst;
20 and the fourth row, a Tarshish stone, a sardonyx, and a jasper, —enclosed with gold, shall they be when they are set.
die vierte Reihe ein Chrysolith, ein Schoham und ein Onyx; umgeben von Goldgeflecht sollen sie den Besatz bilden.
21 And the stones shall be after the names of the sons of Israel—twelve, after their names, —as the engravings of a seal-ring everyone after his name, shall they be, for the twelve tribes,
Und der Steine sollen entsprechend den Namen der Israels-Söhne zwölf sein, entsprechend ihren Namen; in einem jeden soll der Name eines der zwölf Stämme mittels Siegelstecherarbeit eingegraben sein.
22 And thou shalt make, upon the breastpiece, chains like cords of wreathen work, —of pure gold.
Sodann sollst du an der Tasche die schnurenartig gedrehten Kettchen von gediegenem Gold anbringen
23 And thou shalt make, upon the breastpiece, two rings of gold, —and thou shalt place the two rings, upon the two ends of the breastpiece.
und sollst an der Tasche zwei goldene Ringe anbringen, indem du die beiden Ringe an den beiden Enden der Tasche befestigst.
24 And thou shalt hang the two wreathen chains of gold upon the two rings, —upon the ends of the breastpiece;
Hierauf sollst du die beiden goldenen Schnuren an den beiden Ringen an den Enden der Tasche befestigen;
25 and the other two ends of the two wreathen chains, shalt thou fasten upon the two ouches, so shalt thou hang them upon the shoulderpieces of the ephod, in the forefront thereof.
die beiden Enden der beiden Schnuren aber sollst du an den beiden Geflechten befestigen und diese dann an den Schulterstücken des Schulterkleids auf dessen Vorderseite befestigen.
26 And thou shalt make two rings of gold, and put them on the two ends of the breastpiece upon the border thereof, which is on the side of the ephod inwards.
Ferner sollst du zwei goldene Ringe anfertigen und sie an den beiden Enden der Tasche befestigen, an ihrem inneren, dem Schulterkleide zugewendeten Rand.
27 And thou shalt make two rings of gold, and place them upon the two shoulderpieces of the ephod beneath, on the front of the face thereof, over against its joining, above the curious band of the ephod:
Weiter sollst du zwei goldene Ringe anfertigen und sie an den beiden Schulterstücken des Schulterkleids ganz unten an seiner Vorderseite befestigen, da, wo es mit den Schulterstücken zusammenhängt, oberhalb der Binde des Schulterkleids.
28 that they may bind the breastpiece by the rings thereof unto the rings of the ephod with a cord of blue, so that it may remain upon the curious band of the ephod, and the breastpiece not be removed from of the ephod.
Und man soll die Tasche mit ihren Ringen mittels Schnuren von blauem Purpur an die Ringe des Schulterkleids anketten, so daß sie über der Binde des Schulterkleids liegt; so wird die Tasche unbeweglich auf dem Schulterkleid aufliegen.
29 So shall Aaron bear the names of the sons of Israel in the breastpiece for giving sentence upon his heart when he goeth into the holy place, —for a memorial before Yahweh continually.
Und Aaron soll die Namen der Israels-Söhne an der Orakel-Tasche auf seiner Brust tragen, wenn er hineingeht ins Heiligtum, im Angesicht Jahwes, damit er ihrer allezeit gnädig gedenke.
30 Thus shalt thou place, in the breastpiece for giving sentence, the lights and the perfections, so shall they be upon the heart of Aaron when he goeth in before Yahweh, —so shall Aaron bear the sentence of the sons of Israel, upon his heart before Yahweh continually.
In die Orakel-Tasche aber sollst du die Urim und die Tummim thun, damit sie auf der Brust Aarons liegen, wenn er hineingeht vor Jahwe, und so soll Aaron das Orakel für die Israeliten beständig vor Jahwe auf seiner Brust tragen.
31 And thou shalt make the robe of the ephod wholly of blue;
Und das Obergewand zum Schulterkleide sollst du ganz und gar aus blauem Purpur anfertigen,
32 and the opening for his head shall be in the midst thereof, —a border, shall there be to the opening thereof round about the work of a weaver, like the opening of a coat of mail, shall there be to it, it must not be rent.
so, daß sich eine Öffnung für den Kopf in ihm befindet. Diese seine Öffnung soll rings von einem angewebten Saume eingefaßt sein; eine Öffnung, wie die eines Panzerhemdes, soll es haben, damit es nicht zerreißt.
33 And thou shalt make upon the skirts thereof pomegranates of blue and purple and crimson, upon the skirts thereof round about—and bells of gold in the midst of them round about:
An seinem Saume aber sollst du Granatäpfel aus blauem und rotem Purpur und Karmesin anbringen - an seinem Saume ringsum - und inmitten derselben goldene Glöckchen,
34 a bell of gold and a pomegranate, a bell of gold, and a pomegranate, —upon the skirts of the robe, round about.
so, daß immer ein goldenes Glöckchen und ein Granatapfel ringsum am Saume des Obergewands miteinander abwechseln.
35 And it shall be upon Aaron, for ministering, —so shall be heard the sound of him—when he goeth into the holy place, before Yahweh, and cometh out, and dieth not.
Und Aaron soll es tragen, um den heiligen Dienst zu verrichten, und man soll es klingen hören, wenn er hineingeht ins Heiligtum vor Jahwe und wenn er herauskommt, damit er nicht sterbe.
36 And thou shalt make a burnished plate, of pure gold, —and shalt engrave thereupon, like the engravings of a seal-ring, Holiness to Yahweh.
Ferner sollst du ein Stirnblatt von gediegenem Gold anfertigen und darauf in Siegelstecher-Arbeit eingraben: “Geheiligt dem Jahwe”,
37 And thou shalt put it upon a cord of blue, so shall it be upon the turban, —upon the forefront of the turban, shall it be.
und sollst es an einer Schnur von blauem Purpur befestigen, damit es sich am Kopfbund befinde; an der Vorderseite des Kopfbundes soll es sich befinden.
38 So shall it be upon the forehead of Aaron, and Aaron shall bear the iniquity of the hallowed things, which the sons of Israel shall hallow, for all their hallowed gift, —and it shall be upon his forehead continually, that there may be acceptance for them before Yahweh.
Es soll aber auf der Stirn Aarons liegen, damit Aaron so die Verfehlungen in betreff der heiligen Dinge - aller der geweihten Gaben, welche die Israeliten darbringen werden - auf sich nehme. Beständig soll es auf seiner Stirn liegen, damit es sie wohlgefällig mache vor Jahwe.
39 And thou shalt weave, in checker work the tunic of fine linen, and shalt make a turban of fine linen, —and, a girdle, shalt thou make the work of an embroiderer.
Den Leibrock aber sollst du aus Byssus würfelförmig gemustert weben und sollst einen Kopfbund aus Byssus anfertigen, sowie einen Gürtel in Buntwirker-Arbeit.
40 And, for the sons of Aaron, shalt thou make tunics, and shalt make for them girdles, —and caps, shalt thou make for them, for glory and for beauty.
Und für die Söhne Aarons sollst du Leibröcke anfertigen und Gürtel für sie anfertigen und hohe Mützen für sie anfertigen, zur Ehre und zur herrlichen Zier.
41 And thou shalt clothe therewith Aaron thy brother, and his sons, with him, —and shalt anoint them and install them, and hallow them, so shall they minister as priests unto me.
Und du sollst Aaron und seine Söhne damit bekleiden und sollst sie salben und ihnen die Hand füllen und sie weihen, damit sie mir Priesterdienst thun.
42 And thou shalt make for them breeches of linen, to cover their unseemliness, from the loins even unto the thighs, shall they be;
Und fertige ihnen linnene Beinkleider zur Bedeckung der Schamteile; von den Hüften bis zu den Schenkeln sollen sie reichen.
43 so shall they be upon Aaron and upon his sons, when they go into the tent of meeting, or when they approach unto the altar, to minister in the holy place, lest they bear iniquity, and die, —a statute age-abiding, to him and to his seed after him.
Und Aaron und seine Söhne sollen sie tragen, wenn sie in das Offenbarungszelt hineingehen und wenn sie an den Altar herantreten, um den Dienst im Heiligtum zu verrichten, damit sie nicht Schuld auf sich laden und sterben müssen. Solches gelte ihm und seinen Nachkommen als eine immerwährende Verpflichtung.
