< Exodus 27 >

1 And thou shalt make the altar of acacia wood, —of five cubits length and five cubits breadth four square, shall the altar be, and three cubits the height thereof.
Make an altar of acacia wood. It is to be square and measure five cubits long by five cubits wide by three cubits high.
2 And thou shalt make its horns upon its four corners, of the same, shall be its horns, —and thou shalt overlay it with copper.
Make horns for each of its corners, all one piece with the altar, and cover the whole altar with bronze.
3 And thou shalt make its pans for removing its ashes, and its shovels and its sprinkling bowls, and its flesh-hooks and its fire-pans, —all its vessels, shalt thou make of bronze.
Make all its utensils of bronze: buckets for removing ashes, shovels, sprinkling bowls, meat forks, and firepans.
4 And thou shalt make to it a grating, a network of bronze, —and thou shalt make upon the network, four rings of bronze, upon the four corners thereof.
Make a bronze mesh grate for it with a bronze ring on each of its corners.
5 And thou shalt place it under the margin of the altar beneath, —so shall the network reach unto the midst of the altar.
Put the grate under the ledge of the altar, so that the mesh comes halfway down the altar.
6 And thou shalt make staves for the altar, staves of acacia wood, —and shalt overlay them with copper.
Make poles of acacia wood for the altar and cover them with bronze.
7 And the staves shall be brought into the rings, —so shall the staves be on the two sides of the altar in lifting it:
The poles are to be placed in the rings so that the poles are on either side of the altar when it is carried.
8 Hollow with boards, shalt thou make it, —as it was showed thee in the mount, so, shall they make it.
Make the altar hollow, using boards, just as you were shown on the mountain.
9 And thou shalt make the court of the habitation, —on the south side southward, hangings for the court of fine-twined linen, a hundred cubits in length to the one side;
Make a courtyard for the Tabernacle. For the south side of the courtyard make curtains of finely-spun linen, a hundred cubits long on one side,
10 and the pillars thereof twenty, with their sockets twenty, of bronze, —and the hooks of the pillars and their cross-rods of silver.
with twenty posts and twenty bronze stands, with silver hooks and bands on the posts.
11 And, so, for the north side in length, hangings a hundred cubits, —and the pillars thereof twenty, and their sockets twenty. of bronze, and the hooks of the pillars and their cross-rods of silver.
Similarly there are to be curtains placed on the north side in an identical arrangement.
12 And, the breadth of the court on the west side, hangings fifty cubits, —their pillars ten, and their sockets ten.
The curtains for the west side of the courtyard are to be fifty cubits wide, with ten posts and ten stands.
13 And, the breadth of the court on the east side eastward, fifty cubits;
The east side of the courtyard that faces the sunrise is to be fifty cubits wide.
14 and fifteen cubits the hangings for the side-piece, —their pillars three, and their sockets three;
Make the curtains on one side fifteen cubits long, with three posts and three stands,
15 and, for the second side-piece, fifteen hangings, —their pillars three, and their sockets three,
and the curtains on the other side just the same.
16 And for the gate of the court, a screen of twenty cubits, of blue, and purple and crimson and fine-twined linen, the work of an embroiderer, —their pillars four, and their sockets four.
The entrance to the courtyard is to be twenty cubits wide, with a curtain embroidered with blue, purple, and crimson thread, and finely-spun linen, held up by four posts and four stands.
17 All the pillars of the court round about, to be joined with cross-rods of silver, and their hooks of silver, —and their sockets of bronze,
All the posts around the courtyard are to have silver bands, silver hooks, and bronze stands.
18 The length of the court, a hundred cubits and the breadth fifty throughout and the height five cubits of fine-twined linen, —and their sockets, of bronze.
The whole courtyard is to be a hundred cubits long and fifty cubits wide, with curtains made of finely-spun linen five cubits high, and with bronze stands.
19 All the utensils of the habitation, throughout all the service thereof, —and all the pins thereof, and all the pins of the court, of bronze.
All the rest of the equipment used in the Tabernacle, including its tent pegs and those for the courtyard, are to be made of bronze.
20 Thou thyself, therefore, shalt command the sons of Israel that they bring unto thee—pure, beaten olive-oil, for giving light, —that the lamp may lift up its flame continually.
You are to order the Israelites to bring you pure, hand-pressed olive oil for the lamps so they can go on burning, giving light.
21 In the tent of meeting, outside the veil which is by the testimony, shall Aaron and his sons order it from evening until morning, before Yahweh, —a statute age-abiding, to their generations, from the sons of Israel.
In the Tent of Meeting, outside the veil in front of the Testimony, Aaron and his sons are to keep the lamps burning in the Lord's presence from evening until morning. This requirement is to be observed by the Israelites for all generations.
