Exodus 24

1 And unto Moses, he said—Come up unto Yahweh—thou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel, so shall ye bow yourselves down from afar.

১তখন সদাপ্রভু মোশিকে বললেন, তুমি, হারোণ, নাদব, অবীহূ এবং ইস্রায়েলের প্রাচীনবর্গের সত্তর জন, “তোমরা আমার কাছে এসো এবং দূর থেকে আমাকে প্রণাম কর।

2 And Moses alone shall draw near unto Yahweh, but, they shall not draw near, and, the people, shall not come up with him.

২কেবল মোশি সদাপ্রভুর কাছে আসতে পারে, কিন্তু অন্যরা কাছে আসবে না; আর লোকেরা তার সঙ্গে উপরে উঠবে না।”

3 So Moses came, and recounted to the people all the words of Yahweh, and all the regulations, and all the people responded with one voice and said, All the words which Yahweh hath spoken, will we do.

৩তখন মোশি এসে লোকদেরকে সদাপ্রভুর সব বাক্য ও সব শাসনের কথা বললেন, তাতে সব লোক একসঙ্গে উত্তর দিয়ে বলল, “সদাপ্রভু যে যে কথা বললেন, আমরা সবই পালন করব।”

4 Then wrote Moses all the words of Yahweh, and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar, under the mountain, and twelve pillars, for the twelve tribes of Israel:

৪পরে মোশি সদাপ্রভুর সব বাক্য লিখলেন এবং সকালে উঠে পর্বতের তলে এক যজ্ঞবেদি ও ইস্রায়েলের বারোটি বংশানুসারে বারোটি স্তম্ভ তৈরী করলেন।

5 and he sent young men of the sons of Israel, and they caused to go up, ascending-sacrifices, —and slew peace-offerings to Yahweh, of oxen.

৫আর তিনি ইস্রায়েল সন্তানদের যুবকদেরকে পাঠালেন তারা সদাপ্রভুর উদ্দেশ্যে হোমের জন্য ও মঙ্গলের জন্য বলিরূপে ষাঁড়দেরকে বলিদান করল।

6 Then took Moses half of the blood, and put it in basins, and half of the blood, dashed he over the altar:

৬তখন মোশি তার অর্ধেক রক্ত নিয়ে থালায় রাখলেন এবং অর্ধেক রক্ত বেদির উপরে ছিটিয়ে দিলেন।

7 then took he the book of the covenant, and read in the ears of the people. And they said, All that Yahweh hath spoken, will we do, and will hearken,

৭আর তিনি নিয়ম বইটি নিয়ে লোকদের কাছে উচ্চস্বরে পড়লেন; তাতে তারা বলল, “সদাপ্রভু যা যা বললেন, আমরা সবই পালন করব ও বাধ্য হব।”

8 Then Moses took the blood, and dashed over the people, and said, Lo! the blood of the covenant which Yahweh hath solemnised with you, over all these words.

৮পরে মোশি সেই রক্ত নিয়ে লোকদের উপরে ছিটিয়ে দিয়ে বললেন, দেখ, এই হলো নিয়মের রক্ত, যা সদাপ্রভু তোমাদের সঙ্গে এই সব বাক্য সম্বন্ধে স্থির করেছেন।

9 Then went up Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel;

৯তখন মোশি ও হারোণ, নাদব, ও অবীহূ এবং ইস্রায়েলের প্রাচীনদের মধ্য থেকে সত্তর জন পর্বতে চলে গেলেন;

10 and they saw the God of Israel, —and under his feet, like a pavement of sapphire, and like the very heavens for brightness; and

১০আর তারা ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বরকে দেখলেন; তাঁর চরণতলের জায়গা নীলকান্তমণি দিয়ে তৈরী শিলাস্তরের কার্য্য এবং আকাশের মতই নির্মল ছিল।

11 against the nobles of the sons of Israel, put he not forth his hand, —so then they had vision of God, and did eat and drink,

১১আর ঈশ্বর রাগে ইস্রায়েলের অধ্যক্ষদের উপরে হাত রাখলেন না, বরং তারা ঈশ্বরকে দর্শন করলেন এবং তারা খেলেন ও পান করলেন।

12 Then said Yahweh unto Moses—Come thou up unto me in the mountain and remain thou there, —for I must give thee tables of stone and the law and the commandment, which I have written to direct them.

১২আর সদাপ্রভু মোশিকে বললেন, “তুমি পর্বতে আমার কাছে উঠে এসো এবং এই জায়গায় থাক, তাতে আমি দুটি পাথরের ফলক এবং আমার লেখা ব্যবস্থা ও আদেশ তোমাকে দেব, যেন তুমি লোকদের শিক্ষা দিতে পার।”

13 And Moses rose up, and Joshua his attendant, and Moses went up into the mountain of God;

১৩পরে মোশি ও তাঁর পরিচারক যিহোশূয় উঠলেন এবং মোশি ঈশ্বরের পর্বতে উঠলেন।

14 but, unto the elders, he said—Tarry for us here, until we return unto you. And lo! Aaron and Hur, are with you, he that hath a cause, let him draw near unto them.

১৪আর তিনি প্রাচীনদের বললেন, “আমরা যতক্ষণ না তোমাদের কাছে ফিরে না আসি, ততক্ষণ তোমরা আমাদের অপেক্ষায় এই জায়গায় থাক; আর দেখ, হারোণ ও হূর তোমাদের কাছে থাকলেন; যদি কারও কোন বিবাদ থাকে তবে সে তাদের কাছে যাক।”

15 So then Moses wont up into the mountain, —and the cloud covered the mountain.

১৫সুতরাং মোশি যখন পর্বতে উঠলেন তখন পর্বত মেঘে ঢাকা ছিল।

16 And the glory of Yahweh rested upon Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days, —then called he unto Moses on the seventh day, out of the midst of the cloud.

১৬আর সীনয় পর্বতের উপরে সদাপ্রভুর প্রতাপ অবস্থিতি করছিল এবং ওটা ছয় দিন মেঘে ঢাকা ছিল; পরে সপ্তম দিনের তিনি মেঘের মধ্য থেকে মোশিকে ডাকলেন।

17 And the appearance of the glory of Yahweh was like a consuming fire on the top of the mountain, —in the sight of the sons of Israel.

১৭আর ইস্রায়েলীয়দের চোখে সদাপ্রভুর প্রতাপ পর্বতশৃঙ্গে গ্রাসকারী আগুনের মত প্রকাশিত হল।

18 And Moses entered into the midst of the cloud and ascended into the mountain. And it came to pass that Moses was in the mountain forty days and forty nights.

১৮আর মোশি মেঘের মধ্যে প্রবেশ করে পর্বতে উঠলেন। মোশি চল্লিশ দিন ও চল্লিশ রাত সেই পর্বতে ছিলেন।
