Deuteronomy 9

1 Hear O Israel! thou art passing, to-day, over the Jordan, to go in to dispossess nations, greater and stronger than thou, —cities great and fortified into the heavens;

၁အို ဣသရေလအမျိုး၊ နားထောင်လော့။ သင့်ထက်အားကြီး၍ များပြားသော လူမျိုးတို့ကို၎င်း၊ မိုဃ်းကောင်းကင်ကိုထိသော မြို့ရိုးနှင့် ပြည့်စုံသော မြို့ကြီးတို့ကို၎င်း၊

2 a people great and tall, the sons of Anakim, —whom, thou, knowest, and of whom thou hast heard say, Who can stand before the sons of Anak?

၂အာနကအမျိုးသားရှေ့မှာ အဘယ်သူရပ်နိုင် သနည်းဟူသော စကားကို သင်ကြား၍၊ သင်သိသော အာနကအမျိုးသားတည်းဟူသော အလွန်ကြီးမြင့်သော လူမျိုးကို၎င်း တိုက်ယူခြင်းငှာ၊ ယခု ယော်ဒန်မြစ် တဘက် သို့ ကူးလုပြီ။

3 So then, thou must consider to-day, that Yahweh thy God, he it is that is passing over before thee as a consuming fire, he, will destroy them, and, he, will cause them to bow down before thee, —so shalt thou dispossess them, and destroy them speedily, as Yahweh hath spoken unto thee.

၃သို့ဖြစ်၍ သင်၏ဘုရားသခင် ထာဝရဘုရား သည် သင့်ရှေ့မှာ ကြွသဖြင့်၊ လောင်သောမီးကဲ့သို့ ဖြစ်လျက် သူတို့ကို ဖျက်ဆီး၍၊ သင့်မျက်မှောက်၌ နှိမ့်ချတော်မူမည်အကြောင်းကို ယခု သဘောကျလော့။ ထာဝရဘုရား မိန့်တော်မူ သည်အတိုင်း၊ သင်သည် သူတို့ကို နှင်ထုတ်၍ အလျင်အမြန် ဖျက်ဆီးရလိမ့်မည်။

4 Do not speak in thy heart, when Yahweh thy God casteth them out from before thee saying, For mine own righteousness, hath Yahweh brought me in, to possess this land, —whereas it is for the lawlessness of these nations, that, Yahweh, is dispossessing them from before thee.

၄သင်၏ ဘုရားသခင် ထာဝရဘုရားသည် သူတို့ ကို သင့်ရှေ့မှ နှင်ထုတ်တော်မူသောနောက်၊ သင်က၊ ငါ့ကုသိုလ်ကြောင့် ထာဝရဘုရားသည် ငါ့ကိုသွင်း၍၊ ဤပြည်ကို အပိုင်ပေးတော်မူသည်ဟူ၍ မအောက်မေ့ရ။ ထိုလူမျိုးတို့၏ မကောင်းမှုကြောင့် ထာဝရဘုရားသည် သူတို့ကို ငါ့ရှေ့မှ နှင်ထုတ်တော်မူသည်ဟူ၍ စိတ်ထဲမှာ အောက်မေ့ရမည်။

5 Not for thine own righteousness, nor for the uprightness of thine own heart, art thou going in to possess their land, —but for the lawlessness of these nations, is, Yahweh thy God driving them out from before thee, and that he may establish the word which Yahweh sware unto thy fathers, unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob.

၅သင်ပြုသောကုသိုလ်ကြောင့်၎င်း၊ ဖြောင့်မတ် သော သဘောကြောင့်၎င်း၊ ထိုပြည်ကို သွား၍ ဝင်စားရ မည်မဟုတ်။ ထိုလူမျိုးတို့၏ မကောင်းမှုကြောင့်၎င်း၊ ထာဝရဘုရားသည် သင်၏အဘ အာဗြဟံ၊ ဣဇာက်၊ ယာကုပ်တို့အား ကျိန်ဆိုတော်မူသော စကားတော်ကို တည်စေလိုသောငှာ၎င်း၊ သင်၏ဘုရားသခင် ထာဝရ ဘုရားသည် သူတို့ကို သင့်ရှေ့မှ နှင်ထုတ်တော်မူ၏။

6 So then, thou must consider that, not for thine own righteousness, is Yahweh thy God giving unto thee this good land to possess it, —for a stiff-necked people, thou art.

၆သို့ဖြစ်၍ သင်၏ဘုရားသခင် ထာဝရဘုရား သည် သင်၏ကုသိုလ်ကြောင့်၊ ထိုကောင်းမွန်သော ပြည် ကို ပေးတော်မူသည်မဟုတ်။ သင်သည် လည်ပင်းခိုင်မာ သော အမျိုးဖြစ်၏။

7 Remember—do not forget, how thou didst provoke Yahweh thy God, in the desert, —yea from the day when thou camest forth out of the and of Egypt until ye entered as far as this place, have ye been quarrelling, with Yahweh.

၇သင်သည်၊ သင်၏ ဘုရားသခင် ထာဝရဘုရား ကို အမျက်တော်ထွက်စေခြင်းငှာ၊ တော၌ပြုမိသည်ကို မမေ့နှင့်၊ အောက်မေ့လော့။ သင်သည် အဲဂုတ္တုပြည်ထဲက ထွက်သောနေ့မှစ၍ ဤအရပ်သို့ ရောက်သည် တိုင် အောင် ထာဝရဘုရားကို ပုန်ကန်ပြီ။

8 Even in Horeb, ye provoked Yahweh to wrath, —so that Yahweh showed himself angry with you to destroy you.

၈ဟောရပ်အရပ်၌ ထာဝရဘုရားကို အမျက် တော်ထွက်စေသဖြင့်၊ သင့်ကို ဖျက်ဆီးလောက်အောင် အမျက်ထွက်တော်မူ၏။

9 When I went up into the mountain to receive the tables of stone—the tables of the covenant, which Yahweh had solemnised with you, then abode I in the mountain forty days and forty nights, food, did I not, eat, and water, did I not drink.

၉ထာဝရဘုရားသည် သင်တို့နှင့်ဖွဲ့သော ပဋိညာဉ် တရားကို ရေးထားသော ကျောက်ပြားတို့ကို ခံယူခြင်းငှာ၊ တောင်ပေါ်သို့ငါတက်သောအခါ၊ အရက်လေးဆယ်ပတ်လုံး မုန့်ကိုမစား၊ ရေကို မသောက်ဘဲ တောင်ပေါ် မှာနေလေ၏။

10 Then did Yahweh deliver unto me the two tables of stone, written with the finger of God, —and [there was] upon them, according to all the words which Yahweh had spoken with you in the mountain out of the midst of the fire in the day of the convocation.

၁၀သင်တို့သည် စည်းဝေးကြသောနေ့၌ ထာဝရ ဘုရားသည် တောင်ပေါ်မှာ မီးထဲက မြွက်ဆိုတော်မူ သော စကားတော်အလုံးစုံတို့ကို လက်ညှိုးတော်ဖြင့် ရေးထားသော ကျောက်ပြားနှစ်ပြားတို့ကို ထာဝရဘုရား သည် ငါ့အား အပ်ပေးတော်မူ၏။

11 So then it came to pass at the end of forty days and forty nights, that Yahweh gave unto me the two tables of stone the tables of the covenant.

၁၁အရက်လေးဆယ်စေ့သောအခါ၊ ထိုပဋိညာဉ် ကျောက်ပြား နှစ်ပြားကို ထာဝရဘုရားသည် ငါ့အား ပေးတော်မူလျှင်၊

12 Then said Yahweh unto me—Up! get down quickly out of this mountain, for thy people whom thou hast brought forth out of Egypt, have broken faith, —they have turned aside quickly, out of the way which I commanded them, —they have made them a molten image.

၁၂သင်သည် ထ၍ အလျင်အမြန်ဆင်းသွားလော့။ အဲဂုတ္တုပြည်မှ သင်နှုတ်ဆောင်ခဲ့သော သင်၏ လူတို့သည် ဖောက်ပြန်၍၊ ငါမှာထားသောလမ်းမှ အလျင်အမြန်လွှဲ၍၊ ရုပ်တုကို သွန်းကြပြီဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။

13 And Yahweh spake unto me saying, —I have looked on this people, and lo! a stiff-necked people, it is.

၁၃တဖန် ထာဝရဘုရားက၊ ဤလူမျိုးကို ငါကြည့် မြင်ပြီ။ လည်ပင်းခိုင်မာသော အမျိုးဖြစ်၏။

14 Let me alone, that I may destroy them, and wipe out their name from under the heavens, —and make thee into a nation stronger and more in number than they.

၁၄သို့ဖြစ်၍ ငါ့ကိုရှိစေလော့။ သူတို့ကို ငါဖျက်ဆီး မည်။ သူတို့နာမကိုလည်း ကောင်းကင်အောက်မှာ ငါချေ မည်။ သင့်ကိုမူကား၊ သူတို့ထက် အားကြီး၍ များပြား သော အမျိုးဖြစ်စေမည်ဟု ငါ့အား မိန့်တော်မူ၏။

15 So I turned, and came down out of the mountain, now the mountain was burning with fire, —and the two tables of the covenant were upon my two hands.

၁၅ထိုအခါ ငါသည် ပဋိညာဉ်ကျောက်ပြား နှစ်ပြား ကို ကိုင်လျက်၊ လှည့်၍ မီးလောင်သော တောင်ပေါ်က ဆင်းလာ၏။

16 Then looked I, and lo! ye had sinned against Yahweh your God, ye had made you a molten calf, —ye had turned aside quickly, out of the way which Yahweh had commanded you.

၁၆သင်တို့သည် သင်တို့ဘုရားသခင် ထာဝရဘုရား ကို ပြစ်မှား၍၊ နွားသငယ်ရုပ်တုကို သွန်းကြောင်းနှင့် ထာဝရဘုရားမှာထားတော်မူသောလမ်းမှ အလျင်အမြန် လွှဲသွားကြောင်းကို ငါသည် ကြည့်မြင်လျှင်၊

17 So I seized the two tables, and cast them from off my two hands, —and brake them in pieces before your eyes.

၁၇လက်နှစ်ဘက်နှင့်ကိုင်သော ကျောက်ပြားတို့ကို ချ၍၊ သင်တို့မျက်မှောက်၌ ငါချိုးဖဲ့၏။

18 Then lay I prostrate before Yahweh as at the first, forty days and forty nights, food, did I not eat, and water, did I not drink, —because of all your sin which ye had sinned, in doing the thing that was wicked, in the eyes of Yahweh. to provoke him to anger.

၁၈သင်တို့သည် ထာဝရဘုရားကို အမျက်တော် ထွက်စေခြင်းငှာ၊ ရှေ့တော်၌ ဒုစရိုက်ကို ပြုမိသောအပြစ် ရှိသမျှတို့ကြောင့်၊ ငါသည် အရင်ပြုသကဲ့သို့ ထာဝရ ဘုရားရှေ့တော်၌ ပြပ်ဝပ်၍ အရက်လေးဆယ်ပတ်လုံး မုန့်ကိုမစား၊ ရေကို မသောက်ဘဲနေရ၏။

19 For I shrank with fear from the face of the anger and the hot displeasure, wherewith Yahweh was provoked against you to destroy you, —but Yahweh hearkened unto me, even at that time.

၁၉အကြောင်းမူကား၊ ထာဝရဘုရားသည် သင်တို့ ကို ဖျက်ဆီးခြင်းငှာ အလွန်ပြင်းစွာထွက်သော အမျက် တော်အရှိန်ကို ငါကြောက်၏။ သို့ရာတွင် ထာဝရဘုရား သည် ငါ့စကားကို တဖန် နားထောင်တော်မူ၏။

20 And with Aaron, did Yahweh show himself exceedingly angry, to destroy him, —so I prostrated myself, even in behalf of Aaron at that time.

၂၀ထာဝရဘုရားသည်လည်း၊ အာရုန်ကို ဖျက်ဆီးခြင်းငှါ အလွန်အမျက်ထွက်တော်မူသောကြောင့်၊ အာရုန်အဘို့ကိုလည်း ဆုတောင်းလေ၏။

21 And your sin which ye had made even the calf, took I and burned it up with fire, and pounded it very small, until it was fine as dust, —then cast I the dust thereof into the torrent that descended out of the mountain.

၂၁သင်တို့ဒုစရိုက်တည်းဟူသော သင်တို့လုပ်သော နွားသငယ်ကို ငါယူသဖြင့် အရည်ကျို၍၊ အမှုန့်ဖြစ် အောင် ညက်ညက်ချေပြီးလျှင်၊ တောင်ထဲက ထွက်သော ချောင်းရေပေါ်မှာ ချပစ်လေ၏။

22 Also, at Taberah, and at Massah, and at Kibroth-hataavah, a cause of provocation, became ye unto Yahweh.

၂၂တဗေရအရပ်၊ မဿာအရပ်၊ ကိဗြုတ်ဟတ္တဝါ အရပ်၌လည်း၊ သင်တို့သည် ထာဝရဘုရားကို အမျက် တော်ထွက်အောင် ပြုကြ၏။

23 Also when Yahweh sent you out of Kadesh-barnea saying, Go up and possess the land which I have given unto you then quarreled ye with the bidding of Yahweh your God, and trusted him not, neither hearkened unto his voice.

၂၃ကာဒေရှဗာနာအရပ်၌လည်း၊ ထာဝရဘုရားက၊ သွား၍ ငါပေးသောပြည်ကို သိမ်းယူကြလော့ဟု သင်တို့ကို စေခိုင်းတော်မူသောအခါ၊ သင်တို့သည် သင်တို့၏ ဘုရားသခင် ထာဝရဘုရား အမိန့်တော်ကို ငြင်းဆန်ကြ၏။ ကိုယ်တော်ကို မယုံ၊ စကားတော်ကို နားမထောင်ဘဲနေကြ၏။

24 Ye have been quarrelling, with Yahweh, —from the day that I first knew you.

၂၄ငါသိကျွမ်းသော နေ့မှစ၍၊ သင်တို့သည် ထာဝရဘုရားကို ပုန်ကန်လျက်နေကြပြီ။

25 Thus, then lay I prostrate before Yahweh, the forty days and the forty nights that I did lie prostrate, —because Yahweh spake of destroying you.

၂၅ထာဝရဘုရားသည် သင်တို့ကို ဖျက်ဆီးမည်ဟု မိန့်တော်မူသောကြောင့်၊ ငါသည် အရင်ပြပ်ဝပ်သကဲ့သို့၊ အရက်လေးဆယ်ပတ်လုံး ပြပ်ဝပ်လျက်နေရ၏။

26 Therefore I prostrated myself unto Yahweh and said, My Lord Yahweh! Do not destroy thy people even thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed in thy greatness, —which thou hast brought forth out of Egypt with a firm hand.

၂၆ထာဝရဘုရားအားလည်း၊ အိုအရှင် ဘုရားသခင်၊ တန်ခိုးတော်အားဖြင့် ရွေးတော်မူ၍၊ အားကြီးသော လက်တော်နှင့် အဲဂုတ္တုပြည်မှ နှုတ်ဆောင် တော်မူသော ကိုယ်တော်၏အမွေဥစ္စာဖြစ်သော ဤလူတို့ ကို ဖျက်ဆီးတော်မမူပါနှင့်။

27 Have remembrance of thy servants, of Abraham, of Isaac and of Jacob, —do not regard the obduracy of this people, or their lawlessness or their sin:

၂၇ကိုယ်တော်၏ကျွန် အာဗြဟံ၊ ဣဇာက်၊ ယာကုပ် တို့ကို အောက်မေ့တော်မူပါ။ ဤလူမျိုးသည် ခိုင်မာသော သဘောရှိ၍၊ ပြစ်မှားမိသော ဒုစရိုက်အပြစ်ကို မှတ်တော် မမူပါနှင့်။

28 lest the land out of which thou hast brought us forth say, Because Yahweh was not able to bring them into the land of which he had spoken to them, —and because he hated them, took he them forth to put them to death in the desert.

၂၈သို့မဟုတ် အကျွန်ုပ်တို့ကို နှုတ်ဆောင်တော်မူသော ပြည်သားတို့က၊ ထာဝရဘုရားသည် ဂတိထားသော ပြည်သို့ သူတို့ကို ဆောင်သွင်းခြင်းငှာ မတတ်နိုင်သော ကြောင့်၎င်း၊ သူတို့ကို မုန်းသောကြောင့်၎င်း၊ တော၌ သတ်လိုသောငှာ ထုတ်သွားပြီဟု ဆိုကြပါ လိမ့်မည် တကား။

29 Yet, they, are thy people and thine inheritance, —whom thou hast brought forth with thy great strength, and with thy stretched-out arm.

၂၉ဤလူတို့သည်ကား၊ မဟာတန်ခိုးတော်နှင့် လက်ရုံးတော်ကို ဆန့်သဖြင့် နှုတ်ဆောင်တော်မူသော ကိုယ်တော်၏ အမွေလူဖြစ်ကြပါသည်ဟု ငါသည် ဆုတောင်းလေ၏။
