< Deuteronomy 27 >

1 And Moses with the elders of Israel commanded the people saying, —Observe all the commandment which I am commanding you to-day.
Moses and the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, "Keep all the commandment which I command you this day.
2 So then it shall be in the day when ye shall pass over the Jordan, into the land which Yahweh thy God is giving unto thee, —that thou shalt rear thee up great stones, and plaster them with plaster;
It shall be on the day when you shall pass over the Jordan to the land which YHWH your God gives you, that you shall set yourself up great stones, and plaster them with plaster:
3 and shalt write upon them all the words of this law, when thou shalt pass over, —to the end that thou mayest enter upon the land which Yahweh thy God is giving unto thee a land flowing with milk and honey, as Yahweh the God of thy fathers hath spoken unto thee.
and you shall write on them all the words of this law, when you have passed over; that you may go in to the land which YHWH your God gives you, a land flowing with milk and honey, as YHWH, the God of your fathers, has promised you.
4 So then it shall be when ye shall pass over the Jordan, that ye shall rear up these stones which I am commanding you to-day in Mount Ebal, —and thou shalt plaster them with plaster.
It shall be, when you have passed over the Jordan, that you shall set up these stones, which I command you this day, in Mount Ebal, and you shall plaster them with plaster.
5 And thou shalt build there an altar unto Yahweh thy God, —an altar of stones, thou shalt not wield thereupon any tool of iron.
There you shall build an altar to YHWH your God, an altar of stones: you shall lift up no iron on them.
6 Of whole stones, shalt thou build the altar of Yahweh thy God, —then shalt thou cause to go up thereon ascending-sacrifices, unto Yahweh thy God;
You shall build the altar of YHWH your God of uncut stones; and you shall offer burnt offerings thereon to YHWH your God:
7 and thou shalt sacrifice peace-offerings and shalt eat there, —and rejoice before Yahweh thy God.
and you shall sacrifice peace offerings, and shall eat there; and you shall rejoice before YHWH your God.
8 And thou shalt write upon the stones all the words of this law doing it plainly and well.
You shall write on the stones all the words of this law very plainly."
9 And Moses and the priests the Levites spake unto all Israel saying, —Keep silence and hear O Israel, This day, hast thou been made a people unto Yahweh thy God.
Moses and the priests the Levites spoke to all Israel, saying, "Keep silence, and listen, Israel: this day you have become the people of YHWH your God.
10 Thou shalt therefore hearken unto the voice of Yahweh thy God, —and do his commandments and his statutes, which I am commanding thee to-day.
You shall therefore obey the voice of YHWH your God, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command you this day."
11 And Moses commanded the people on that day, saying:
Moses commanded the people the same day, saying,
12 These, shall stand to bless the people upon Mount Gerizim, when ye have passed over the Jordan, —Simeon and Levi and Judah, and Issachar and Joseph and Benjamin;
"These shall stand on Mount Gerizim to bless the people, when you have passed over the Jordan: Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Joseph, and Benjamin.
13 and, these, shall stand by the curse in Mount Ebal, —Reuben Gad and Asher, and Zebulun Dan and Naphtali.
These shall stand on Mount Ebal for the curse: Reuben, Gad, and Asher, and Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.
14 Then shall the Levites respond and say unto every man of Israel with voice uplifted: —
