Deuteronomy 15

1 At the end of seven years, shalt thou make a release.

Am Ende von sieben Jahren sollst du einen Erlaß machen.

2 And, this, shall be the manner of the release, Every creditor who lendeth aught to his neighbour, his hand shall release it, —he shall not exact it of his neighbour or his brother, because there hath been proclaimed a release unto Yahweh.

Und dies ist das Wort des Erlasses: Jeder Schuldherr soll seine Hand in demselben ablassen von dem Darlehen, das er seinem Genossen gemacht, er soll es nicht eintreiben von seinem Genossen und seinem Bruder; denn dem Jehovah hat man einen Erlaß ausgerufen.

3 Of a foreigner, thou mayest exact it, —but, what thou hast with thy brother, thy hand shall release;

Vom Auswärtigen magst du eintreiben, was du aber bei deinem Bruder hast, das soll deine Hand erlassen.

4 save, when there shall be among you no needy person, —for Yahweh will indeed bless, thee, in the land which Yahweh thy God is giving unto thee as an inheritance to possess it:

Es sei denn, daß unter dir kein Dürftiger ist; denn Jehovah wird dich segnen in dem Lande, das Jehovah, dein Gott, dir zum Erbe einzunehmen gibt;

5 only if thou do hearken unto the voice of Yahweh thy God, —to observe to do—all this commandment which I am commanding thee to-day.

Nur wenn du auf die Stimme Jehovahs, deines Gottes, hörst, so daß du hältst und tust all dies Gebot, das ich dir heute gebiete.

6 When, Yahweh thy God, hath blessed thee, as he spake unto thee, then shalt thou lend unto many nations but thou, shalt not borrow, and, thou shalt rule over many nations but over thee, shall they not rule.

Denn Jehovah, dein Gott, hat dich gesegnet, wie Er zu dir geredet hat, so daß du vielen Völkerschaften borgen und nichts von ihnen borgen, und über viele Völkerschaften herrschen wirst, sie aber werden nicht herrschen über dich.

7 When there cometh to be among you a needy person any one of thy brethren within any one of thy gates, in thy land, which Yahweh thy God is giving unto thee, thou shalt not harden thy heart nor shut thy hand from thy needy brother;

Wenn unter dir ein Dürftiger ist, einer deiner Brüder in einem deiner Tore in deinem Land, das Jehovah, dein Gott, dir gibt, so sollst du dein Herz nicht verstocken und deine Hand nicht vor deinem dürftigen Bruder zudrücken.

8 but thou shalt, open, thy hand unto him, —and, lend, him enough to meet the poverty which doth impoverish him.

Vielmehr sollst du deine Hand ihm auftun, und ihm borgen je nach seinem Mangel, worin er mangelt.

9 Take thou heed to thyself lest there be something near thine abandoned heart, saying—Drawing nigh, is the seventh year the year of release, and so thine eye be evil, against thy needy brother, and thou give not unto him, —and he cry out against thee unto Yahweh, and it become in thee a sin!

Hüte dich, daß nicht in deinem Herzen das Wort Belials sei: das sagt: Das siebente Jahr nahet, das Jahr des Erlasses; und dein Auge deinem dürftigen Bruder böse sei, daß du es ihm nicht gebest und er über dich zu Jehovah rufe, so daß es dir zur Sünde werde.

10 Thou shalt, give, unto him, and thy heart shall not be evil when thou givest unto him, —for on account of this very thing, will Yahweh thy God bless thee, in all that thou doest and in all whereunto thou puttest thy hand.

Geben sollst du es ihm, und dein Herz soll nicht erbosen, daß du es ihm gibst; denn wegen dieses Wortes wird Jehovah, dein Gott, dich segnen in all deinem Tun, und in allem, wonach du die Hand ausreckst.

11 For the needy will not cease out of the midst of the land—for this cause, am I commanding thee, saying, Thou shalt open, thy hand unto thy brother to thy poor and to thy needy, in thy land.

Denn Dürftige werden niemals aufhören von des Landes Mitte. Deshalb gebiete ich dir und spreche: Tue deine Hand auf deinem Bruder, dem Elenden und dem Dürftigen in deinem Land.

12 When thy brother a Hebrew man (or a Hebrew woman) selleth himself unto thee, then shall he serve thee six years, —and in the seventh year, shalt thou let him go out free from thee;

Wenn sich dein Bruder, ein Hebräer oder eine Hebräerin, an dich verkauft, so soll er sechs Jahre dir dienen, im siebenten Jahre aber sollst du ihn frei von dir entlassen.

13 and when thou lettest him go out free, from thee, thou shalt not let him go out empty:

Und wenn du ihn frei entlässest von dir, so entlasse ihn nicht leer.

14 thou shalt, richly load, him out of thy flock, and out of thy threshing-floor and out of thy wine-vat, —of that wherewith Yahweh thy God hath blessed thee, shalt thou give unto him;

Du sollst ihm aufladen von deinem Kleinvieh und von deiner Tenne und von deiner Weinkufe, womit Jehovah, dein Gott, dich gesegnet hat, sollst du ihm geben.

15 and thou shalt remember that a servant, thou wast in the land of Egypt, and that Yahweh thy God, redeemed thee, —for this cause, am I commanding thee this thing, to-day.

Und gedenke, daß du ein Knecht warst in Ägyptenland, und Jehovah, dein Gott, dich eingelöst hat. Deshalb gebiete ich dir dies Wort heute.

16 And it shall be, if he shall say unto thee, I will not go away from thee, —because he loveth thee, and thy household, because he is well off with thee,

So es aber geschieht, daß er zu dir spricht: Ich will nicht von dir ausgehen, weil Ich dich und dein Haus liebe, - weil es ihm gut geht bei dir;

17 then shalt thou take an awl and thrust it through his ear unto the door, so shall he be thy servant all his life. And unto thine handmaid also, shalt thou do thus.

So nimm eine Pfrieme und treibe sie durch sein Ohr und die Tür; und er soll dein Knecht sein ewiglich, und auch deiner Magd sollst du also tun.

18 It shall not be hard in thine eyes when thou lettest him go out free, from thee; for to the double of the hire of a hireling, hath he served thee six years, —so will Yahweh thy God bless thee, in all that thou doest.

Und laß es dir nicht hart sein in deinen Augen, wenn du ihn frei entlässest von dir; denn das Doppelte von eines Lohnarbeiters Lohn hat er dir gedient sechs Jahre, und Jehovah, dein Gott, wird dich segnen in allem, was du tust.

19 Every firstling that is brought forth in thy herd and in thy flock that is a male, shalt thou hallow unto Yahweh thy God, —thou shalt not work with a firstling of thine oxen, neither shalt thou shear a firstling of thy flock:

Alles Erstgeborene, das dir geboren wird von deinem Rindvieh oder von deinem Kleinvieh, sollst du, wenn es männlich ist, Jehovah, deinem Gotte, heiligen. Du sollst nicht arbeiten mit dem Erstgeborenen deines Ochsen, noch scheren das Erstgeborene deines Kleinviehs.

20 before Yahweh thy God, shalt thou eat it year by year, in the place which Yahweh shall choose, —thou, and thy household.

Vor Jehovah, deinem Gotte, sollst du es essen Jahr für Jahr an dem Orte, den Jehovah erwählen wird, du und dein Haus.

21 But, when there is in it any blemish, lameness or blindness, any ill blemish, thou shalt not sacrifice it unto Yahweh thy God:

Und so daran ein Makel ist, so es lahm oder blind ist, irgendein böser Makel, sollst du es Jehovah, deinem Gotte, nicht opfern.

22 within thine own gates, mayest thou eat it, —the unclean of you and the clean alike, as the gazelle and as the hart.

In deinen Toren magst du es essen, der Unreine und der Reine zugleich, wie das Reh und wie den Hirsch.

23 Only the blood thereof, shalt thou not eat, —on the earth, shalt thou pour it out like water.

Nur sein Blut sollst du nicht essen; auf die Erde sollst du es ausgießen, wie das Wasser.
