2 Samuel 23
1 Now, these, are the last words of David, —The oracle of David, son of Jesse, Yea the oracle of The man raised up on high, The Anointed of the God of Jacob, the Delight of the Songs of Israel:
१दावीदाची ही अखेरची वचने; इशायपुत्र दावीदाचा हा संदेश देवामुळे ज्याला थोरवी प्राप्त झाली त्याचा हा संदेश. याकोबाच्या देवाचा हा अभिषिक्त राजा इस्राएलाचा मधुर स्तोत्रे गाणारा गायक.
2 The Spirit of Yahweh, spake in me, —And, his word, was on my tongue;
२परमेश्वराचा आत्मा माझ्या मार्फत बोलला. त्याचे शब्द माझ्या मुखी होते.
3 Said the God of Israel, Unto me, spake the Rock of Israel: —One Ruling over Men, A Righteous One, ruling in the reverence of God,
३इस्राएलचा देव हे बोलला, इस्राएलचा दुर्ग मला म्हणाला, “जो न्यायाने राज्य करतो, जो देवाविषयी आदर बाळगून राज्य करतो.
4 Is even as the light of the morning when ariseth the sun, —A morning, without clouds, [As] from brightness, [and] from rain, the fresh shoots out of the earth.
४तो मनुष्य सकाळच्या प्रकाशासारखा असेल, निरभ्र सकाळ असावी तसा असेल, पावसानंतर येणाऱ्या उन्हासारखा असेल. पाऊस कसा तर ज्याच्यामुळे जमिनीतून कोवळे गवत तरारून येते असा.
5 When, not so, was my house with GOD, Then, a covenant age-abiding, he appointed me, Ordered in all things and guarded, Now that it is all my salvation and all my desire, Will he not make it shoot forth?
५देवाने माझे घराणे बळकट व सुरक्षित केले देवाने माझ्याबरोबर एक कायमचा करार केला. तो सर्व दृष्टींनी माझ्या भल्याकरताच आहे याची त्याने खातरजमा करून घेतली. त्याने असा मजबूत करार केला आणि आता तो त्याचा भंग करणार नाही. हा करार म्हणजे माझा उध्दारच होय. हा करार म्हणजेच मला हवे होते ते सर्व काही होय. परमेश्वर माझ्या घराण्याची भरभराट करील.
6 But, as for the abandoned, like thorns to be tossed away are they all, —For, not with the hand, can they be taken;
६पण दुष्ट माणसे काट्यांसारखी असतात. लोक काटा धरून ठेवत नाहीत, फेकून देतात.
7 But, the man that would touch them, Must fence himself with iron, and the shaft of a spear, —Then, with fire, shall they be, consumed, on the spot!
७त्याचा स्पर्श झाला तर लाकडी आणि पंचधातूचा भाला टोचावा तशा वेदना होतात. होय असा मनुष्य काट्यासारखा असतो. त्यांना आगीच्या भक्ष्य स्थानी टाकतील आणि ती जळून खाक होतील.”
8 These, are the names of the mighty men, who belonged to David, —The president a Tachmonite head of the charioteers, the same, was Adino the Eznite, for eight hundred, slain at one time.
८दावीदाच्या पदरी असलेल्या वीरांची नावे अशी: योशेब-बश्शेबेथ तखमोनी हा रथावरच्या सेवकांचा मुख्य होता. असनी आदीनो म्हणूनही त्यास ओळखतात. त्याने एका वेळी आठशे जणांना ठार केले.
9 And, after him, Eleazar son of Dodo, son of Ahohi, —in the hero-class of mighty men, with David, when they reproached the Philistines, they were gathered together there to battle, but the men of Israel had gone up;
९त्याच्या खालोखाल अहोही येथील दोदय याचा मुलगा. एलाजाराने पलिष्ट्यांना आव्हान दिले त्यावेळी दावीदाबरोबर असलेल्या तीन वीरांपैकी हा एक. ते युध्दाच्या तयारीने आले, पण इस्राएल सैनिक पळून गेले होते.
10 he, however, arose and smote among the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand clave unto his sword, so Yahweh wrought a great victory on that day, —the people, coming back after him, only to strip the slain.
१०थकून अंगात त्राण राहिला नाही तोपर्यंत एलाजार पलिष्ट्यांशी लढत राहिला. तलवारीला हात चिकटेपर्यंत त्याने लढा चालू ठेवला. परमेश्वराने त्या दिवशी मोठा विजय घडवून आणला. एलाजारची युध्दात सरशी झाल्यावर मग शत्रू सैनिकांच्या मृतदेहावरच्या वस्तू गोळा करायला तेवढे ते लोक तिथे आले.
11 And, after him, Shammah son of Agee, the Hararite, —and, when the Philistines were gathered together into a troop, there being at hand an allotment of field-land full of lentils, but, the people, having fled from the face of the Philistines,
११हरार येथील आगे याचा मुलगा शम्मा हा ही होता. पलिष्टी चालून आले तेव्हा एका कडधान्याच्या शेतात हे युध्द झाले. लोकांनी पलिष्ट्यां समोरून पळ काढला.
12 then took he his stand in the midst of the allotment, and defended it, and smote the Philistines, —and Yahweh wrought a great victory.
१२पण शम्मा शेताच्या ऐन मध्यावर उभा राहिला आणि त्याने एकट्याने त्यांना तोंड दिले. त्याने पलिष्ट्यांचा पराभव केला. परमेश्वराने इस्राएलाला त्यादिवशी मोठा विजय मिळवून दिला.
13 And three of the thirty chiefs descended, and came in, towards harvest, unto David, unto the cave of Adullam, —although, a troop of Philistines, were encamped in the vale of Rephaim;
१३दावीद एकदा अदुल्लामच्या गुहेत होता आणि पलिष्टी सैन्याचा तळ खाली रेफाईच्या खोऱ्यात होता. त्यावेळी तीस शूरांपैकी तिघेजण दावीदाकडे जायला म्हणून सरळ गुहेपर्यंत अक्षरश: सरपटत गेले.
14 and, David, then was in a stronghold, —and, a garrison of Philistines, was then in Bethlehem.
१४नंतर एकदा दावीद गडावर असताना पलिष्ट्यांची टोळी बेथलहेम येथे होती.
15 And David longed, and said, —Who will give me to drink water out of the well of Bethlehem, that is within the gate?
१५दावीद आपल्या गावाचे पाणी पिण्यासाठी व्याकुळ झाला तो म्हणाला, बेथलेहेमच्या वेशीजवळच्या विहिरीतले पाणी मला कुणी आणून दिले तर किती बरे होईल.
16 And the three mighty men brake through the camp of Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was within the gate, and bare it, and brought it in unto David, —yet would he not drink, but poured it out unto Yahweh,
१६पण या तीन शूरांनी पलिष्ट्यांच्या ठाण्यातून धाडसाने तोंड देत मार्ग काढला आणि बेथलहेमच्या वेशीजवळच्या विहिरीतले पाणी काढून दावीदाला प्यायला आणून दिले. दावीदाने ते प्यायचे नाकारले. त्याने ते परमेश्वरास अर्पण म्हणून जमिनीवर ओतून दिले.
17 and said—Be it far from me, O Yahweh, that I should do this! is it not the blood of the men who went with their lives [in their hands]? So he would not drink it. These things, did the three mighty men.
१७दावीद म्हणाला, “परमेश्वरा, हे पाणी मी कसे पिऊ? हे पाणी मी प्यायलो तर ज्यांनी आपले प्राण माझ्यासाठी धोक्यात घातले त्यांचे रक्तच मी प्राशन केल्यासारखे होईल.” म्हणून तो ते पाणी प्याला नाही. त्या तीन शूर वीरांनी यासारखी अनेक धाडसे केली.
18 And. Abishai brother of Joab son of Zeruiah, he, was chief of three, in that he brandished his spear against three hundred whom he slew; and, he, had a name among three.
१८सरुवेचा मुलगा यवाब याचा भाऊ म्हणजे अबीशय. अबीशय या तीन वीरांचा नायक होता. आपल्या भाल्याने त्याने तीनशे शत्रू सैनिकांना ठार केले. आणि त्या तिघांमध्ये नाव मिळवले.
19 Was he not most honourable, of the three, and so became their captain? Nevertheless, unto the three, he attained not.
१९त्या तिघांमध्ये तो सर्वाधिक प्रसिद्ध होता. त्यांचा तो नायकही होता. पण तो पहिल्या तिघांच्यापैकी नव्हता.
20 Benaiah also, son of Jehoiadah, son of an active man, hero of many a deed, a man of Kabzeel, he, smote the two sons of Ariel of Moab, he, also went down and smote a lion in the midst of a pit, on a day of snow;
२०यहोयादा याचा मुलगा बनाया हाही एक होता. तो एका पराक्रमी मनुष्याचा पुत्र होता. तो कबसेल इथून आलेला होता. बनायाने बरेच पराक्रम गाजवले मवाबमधील अरीएलच्या दोन मुलांना त्याने मारले. एकदा बर्फ पडत असताना त्याने गुहेत शिरून सिंह मारला.
21 he, also smote an Egyptian, who was of valiant bearing, and, in the hand of the Egyptian, was a spear, but he went down unto him with a staff, —and wrested the spear out of the hand of the Egyptian, and slew him with his own spear.
२१एका धिप्पाड मिसरी मनुष्यासही त्याने मारले. या मिसरी मनुष्याच्या हातात भाला होता तर बनायाच्या हातात फक्त काठी. बनायाने त्याचा भाला हिसकावून घेतला आणि त्याच्याच भाल्याने त्या मिसरी मनुष्याचा जीव घेतला.
22 These things, did Benaiah son of Jehoiada, and, he, had a name among three mighty men.
२२बनायाने अशी बरीच कृत्ये केली त्यानेही या तिघांइतकाच नावलौकिक मिळवला.
23 He was the most honourable, of thirty, although, unto the three, he attained no, —so David added him to his council.
२३तो तीस वीरांच्या तीस वीर-दावीदाच्या अतिशय शूर सैनिकांचा गट म्हणजे हे लोक होत. यापेक्षा तो अधिक प्रसिद्ध होता. पण तरी पहिल्या तिघांच्या पदाला तो पोचला नाही. दावीदाने त्यास आपल्या अंगरक्षकांचा प्रमुख म्हणून नेमले.
24 Asahel, brother of Joab, was among the thirty, —Elhanan, son of Dodo, of Bethlehem;
२४यवाबाचा भाऊ असाएल हा त्या तिसातला एक होता. बाकीच्या वीरांची नावे पुढीलप्रमाणे: बेथलहेममधील दोदो याचा मुलगा एलहानान,
25 Shammah, the Harodite; Elika, the Harodite;
२५शम्मा हरोदी, अलीका हरोदी,
26 Helez, the Paltite, Ira, son of Ikkesh, the Tekoite;
२६हेलस पलती, इक्केश तकोई याचा मुलगा ईरा,
27 Abiezer, the Anathothite, Mebunnai, the Hushathite;
२७अबीयेजर अनाथोथी, मबुन्नय हूशाथी,
28 Zalmon, the Ahohite, Maharai, the Netophathite;
२८सलमोन अहोही, महरय नटोफाथी,
29 Heleb, son of Baanah, the Netophathite, —Ittai, son of Ribai, of Gibeah, of the sons of Benjamin;
२९बाना नटोफाथी याचा मुलगा हेलेब, बन्यामीनच्या वंशातील, गिबामधला रीबय याचा मुलगा इत्तय,
30 Benaiah, a Pirathonite, Hiddai, of the torrents of Gaash;
३०बनाया पिराथोनी, गाश झऱ्याजवळचा हिद्दय,
31 Abi-albon, the Arbathite, Azmaveth, the Barhumite;
३१अबी-अलबोन अर्बाथी, अजमावेथ बरहूमी,
32 Eliahba, the Shaalbonite, (Of) the sons of Jashen, Jonathan;
३२अलीहाबा शालबोनी, याशेन घराण्यातला योनाथान,
33 Shammah, the Hararite, Ahiam, son of Sharar, the Ararite;
३३शम्मा हारारी, शारार अरारी याचा मुलगा अहीयाम,
34 Eliphelet, son of Ahasbai, son of the Maacathite. Eliam, son of Ahithophel, the Gilonite.
३४माकाथीचा मुलगा अहसबय याचा मुलगा अलीफलेट, अहिथोफेल गिलोनी याचा मुलगा अलीयम,
35 Hezro, the Carmelite, Paarai, the Arbite;
३५हेस्री कर्मेली, पारय अर्बी
36 Igal, son of Nathan, of Zobah, Bani, the Gadite;
३६सोबा मधील नाथोन याचा मुलगा इगाल, बानी यादी,
37 Zelek, the Ammonite, —Naharai, the Beerothite, armour bearers to Joab son of Zeruiah;
३७सेलक अम्मोनी, सरुवेचा मुलगा यवाब याचा शस्त्रवाहक नहरय बैरोथी,
38 Ira, the Ithrite, Gareb, the Ithrite;
३८ईरा इथ्री, गारेब इथ्री,
39 Uriah, the Hittite, In all, thirty and seven.
३९उरीया हित्ती, असे एकंदर सदतीस.
