2 Peter 1
1 Simon Peter, servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, unto them who have obtained, equally precious, faith, with us, in the righteousness of our God, and Saviour Jesus Christ,
Simon Petrus, ein Knecht und Apostel Jesu Christi, denen, die mit uns ebendenselben teuren Glauben überkommen haben in der Gerechtigkeit, die unser Gott gibt und der Heiland Jesus Christus:
2 Favour unto you, and peace, be multiplied, in the personal knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord; —
Gott gebe euch viel Gnade und Frieden durch die Erkenntnis Gottes und Jesu Christi, unsers HERRN!
3 As, all things, suited for life and godliness his divine power, unto us, hath given, through the personal knowledge of him that hath called us through glory and excellence, —
Nachdem allerlei seiner göttlichen Kraft, was zum Leben und göttlichen Wandel dient, uns geschenkt ist durch die Erkenntnis des, der uns berufen hat durch seine Herrlichkeit und Tugend,
4 Through which, his precious, and very great, promises, have, unto us, been given, in order that, through these, ye might become sharers in a divine nature—escaping the corruption that is in the world by coveting.
durch welche uns die teuren und allergrößten Verheißungen geschenkt sind, nämlich, daß ihr dadurch teilhaftig werdet der göttlichen Natur, so ihr fliehet die vergängliche Lust der Welt;
5 And, for this very reason also—adding, on your part, all diligence, supply, in your faith, excellence, and, in your excellence, knowledge,
so wendet allen euren Fleiß daran und reichet dar in eurem Glauben Tugend und in der Tugend Erkenntnis
6 And, in your knowledge, self-control, and, in your self-control, endurance, and, in your endurance, godliness,
und in der Erkenntnis Mäßigkeit und in der Mäßigkeit Geduld und in der Geduld Gottseligkeit
7 And, in your godliness, brotherly affection, and, in your brotherly affection, love.
und in der Gottseligkeit brüderliche Liebe und in der brüderlichen Liebe allgemeine Liebe.
8 These things, unto you, belonging and abounding, neither idle nor unfruitful, constitute you, regarding the personal knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ;
Denn wo solches reichlich bei euch ist, wird's euch nicht faul noch unfruchtbar sein lassen in der Erkenntnis unsers HERRN Jesu Christi;
9 For, he to whom these things are not present, is, blind, seeing only what is near, having come, to forget, his purification from his old sins.
welcher aber solches nicht hat, der ist blind und tappt mit der Hand und vergißt die Reinigung seiner vorigen Sünden.
10 Wherefore, all the more, brethren, give diligence to be making, firm, your calling and election; for, these things, doing, in nowise shall ye stumble at any time,
Darum, liebe Brüder, tut desto mehr Fleiß, eure Berufung und Erwählung festzumachen; denn wo ihr solches tut, werdet ihr nicht straucheln,
11 For, thus, shall richly be further supplied unto you—the entrance into the age-abiding kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. (aiōnios g166)
und also wird euch reichlich dargereicht werden der Eingang zu dem ewigen Reich unsers HERRN und Heilandes Jesu Christi. (aiōnios g166)
12 Wherefore, I shall be certain to be, always, putting you in remembrance concerning these things, —although, indeed, ye know them, and have become confirmed in the present truth;
Darum will ich's nicht lassen, euch allezeit daran zu erinnern, wiewohl ihr's wisset und gestärkt seid in der gegenwärtigen Wahrheit.
13 Right, nevertheless, I account it—as long as I am in this tent, to be stirring you up by putting you in remembrance,
Ich achte es für billig, solange ich in dieser Hütte bin, euch zu erinnern und zu erwecken;
14 Knowing that, speedy, is the putting off of my tent—even as, our Lord Jesus Christ also, made clear to me:
denn ich weiß, daß ich meine Hütte bald ablegen muß, wie mir denn auch unser HERR Jesus Christus eröffnet hat.
15 Yea, I will give diligence also, that, at every time, ye may be able, after my own departure, to be keeping up the remembrance of, these very things.
Ich will aber Fleiß tun, daß ihr allezeit nach meinem Abschied solches im Gedächtnis halten könnt.
16 For, not as having followed, cleverly devised stories, made we known unto you the power and presence of our Lord Jesus Christ, but as having been made, spectators, of his majesty.
Denn wir sind nicht klugen Fabeln gefolgt, da wir euch kundgetan haben die Kraft und Zukunft unsers HERRN Jesus Christus; sondern wir haben seine Herrlichkeit selber gesehen,
17 For, when he received from God the Father honour and glory, a voice, being borne to him such as this, by the magnificent glory—My Son, the beloved, is, this, in whom, I, delight,
da er empfing von Gott, dem Vater, Ehre und Preis durch eine Stimme, die zu ihm geschah von der großen Herrlichkeit: “Dies ist mein lieber Sohn, an dem ich Wohlgefallen habe.”
18 Even this voice, we, heard, when, out of heaven, it was borne, we being, with him, in the holy mount.
Und diese Stimme haben wir gehört vom Himmel geschehen, da wir mit ihm waren auf dem heiligen Berge.
19 And we have, more firm, the prophetic word; —whereunto ye are doing, well, to take heed, —as unto a lamp shining in a dusky place, —until, day, shall dawn, and, a day-star, shall arise in your hearts: —
Und wir haben desto fester das prophetische Wort, und ihr tut wohl, daß ihr darauf achtet als auf ein Licht, das da scheint in einem dunklen Ort, bis der Tag anbreche und der Morgenstern aufgehe in euren Herzen.
20 Of this, first, taking note—that, no prophecy of scripture, becometh, self-solving;
Und das sollt ihr für das Erste wissen, daß keine Weissagung in der Schrift geschieht aus eigener Auslegung.
21 For not, by will of man, was prophecy brought in, at any time, but, as, by Holy Spirit, they were borne along, spake, men, from God.
Denn es ist noch nie eine Weissagung aus menschlichem Willen hervorgebracht; sondern die heiligen Menschen Gottes haben geredet, getrieben von dem heiligen Geist.
