2 Kings 9
1 Now, Elisha the prophet, called one of the sons of the prophets, —and said to him—Gird up thy loins, and take this flask of oil in thy hand, and go to Ramoth-gilead;
১তখন ইলীশায় ভাববাদী ভাববাদীদের সন্তানদের একজন শিষ্য ভাববাদীকে ডেকে বললেন, “তুমি কোমর বেঁধে নাও এবং এই তেলের শিশিটি নিয়ে রামোৎ-গিলিয়দে যাও।
2 and, when thou art come in thither, then look thee out, there, Jehu son of Jehoshaphat, son of Nimshi; and thou shalt enter and get him to rise up out of the midst of his brethren, and take him into an inner chamber;
২সেখানে গিয়ে নিম্শির নাতি যিহোশাফটের ছেলে যেহূর খোঁজ কর এবং কাছে গিয়ে তাঁকে তাঁর ভাইদের মধ্যে থেকে উঠিয়ে একটি ভিতরের কুঠরীতে নিয়ে যাও।
3 then shalt thou take the flask of oil, and pour out upon his head, and say—Thus, saith Yahweh, I have anointed thee to be king unto Israel! Then shalt thou open the door and flee, and not tarry.
৩তারপর তেলের শিশিটি নিয়ে তাঁর মাথায় তেল ঢেলে দিয়ে বল, সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, ‘ইস্রায়েলের উপরে আমি তোমাকে রাজা হিসাবে অভিষেক করলাম।’ পরে তুমি দরজা খুলে পালিয়ে যাবে, দেরি করবে না।”
4 So the young man went his way—the young man the prophet—unto Ramoth-gilead.
৪তখন সেই যুবক, সেই যুবক ভাববাদী, রামোৎ-গিলিয়দে গেল।
5 And, when he came up, lo! the captains of the force, sitting, and he said—A word, have I, for thee, O captain! And Jehu said—For which, of us all? And he said, —For thee, O captain!
৫সে সেখানে পৌঁছে দেখল, সেনাপতিরা এক জায়গায় বসে ছিলেন। সে বলল, “সেনাপতি, আপনার জন্য আমার কিছু খবর আছে।” যেহূ বললেন, “আমাদের সকলের মধ্যে কার জন্য?” সে বলল, “সেনাপতি, আপনার জন্য।”
6 Then rose he up and went inside, and poured out the oil upon his head, and said unto him—Thus, saith Yahweh, God of Israel, I have anointed thee to be king unto the people of Yahweh, unto Israel;
৬তখন যেহূ উঠে গৃহের মধ্যে গেলেন। তাতে সে তাঁর মাথায় তেল ঢেলে তাঁকে বলল, “ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, ‘আমি সদাপ্রভুর প্রজাদের উপরে, ইস্রায়েলের উপরে, তোমাকে রাজা হিসাবে অভিষেক করলাম।
7 and thou shalt smite the house of Ahab thy lord, —so will I avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of Yahweh, at the hand of Jezebel;
৭তুমি তোমার মনিব আহাবের বংশকে ধ্বংস করবে এবং আমি আমার ভাববাদীদের রক্তের প্রতিশোধ ও সদাপ্রভুর সব দাসদের রক্তের প্রতিশোধ ঈষেবলের হাত থেকে নেব।
8 so shall perish all the house of Ahab, —and I will cut off to Ahab the meanest, both him that is shut up and him that is left at large, in Israel.
৮কারণ আহাবের বংশের সবাই ধ্বংস হবে; আহাবের বংশের প্রত্যেকটি পুরুষকে, ইস্রায়েলের মধ্যে দাস বা স্বাধীন লোককে, আমি উচ্ছেদ করব।
9 Yea I will deliver up the house of Ahab, like the house of Jeroboam son of Nebat, —and like the house of Baasha son of Ahijah:
৯আর আহাবের বংশকে নবাটের ছেলে যারবিয়ামের বংশের ও অহিয়ের ছেলে বাশার বংশের সমান করব।
10 And, as for Jezebel, the dogs shall eat [her], in the town-land of Jezreel, there being none to bury her. And he opened the door, and fled.
১০আর কুকুরেরা ঈষেবলকে যিষ্রিয়েলের জমিতে খাবে, তাকে কেউ কবর দেবে না’।” পরে সেই যুবক দরজা খুলে পালিয়ে গেল।
11 Then, Jehu, came forth unto the servants of his lord, and one said to him—Is all well? why came this madman unto thee? And he said unto them, Ye, know, the man and his message.
১১তখন যেহূ তাঁর মনিবের দাসেদের কাছে বাইরে এলে একজন তাঁকে জিজ্ঞাসা করল, “সব কিছু ভাল তো? ঐ পাগলটা তোমার কাছে কেন এসেছিল?” তিনি বললেন, “তোমরা তো তাকে চেন, সে কি রকম কথা বলে তাও জান।”
12 And they said—False! pray tell, us. And he said, —Thus and thus, spake he unto me, saying, Thus, saith Yahweh, I have anointed thee to be king unto Israel.
১২তারা বলল, “এই কথা মিথ্যা, আমাদের সত্যি বল।” তখন তিনি বললেন, “সে আমাকে বলল, সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, ‘ইস্রায়েলের রাজা হিসাবে আমি তোমাকে অভিষেক করলাম’।”
13 Then hasted they, and took, every man his garment, and put it under him, upon the very steps, —and blew with a horn, and said, Jehu, is king!
১৩তখন তারা তাড়াতাড়ি করে তাদের গায়ের কাপড় খুলে সিঁড়ির উপর তাঁর পায়ের নীচে পেতে দিল এবং তূরী বাজিয়ে বলল, “যেহূ রাজা হলেন।”
14 Thus did Jehu son of Jehoshaphat son of Nimshi conspire against Joram, —when, Joram, was watching Ramoth-gilead, he and all Israel, because of Hazael king of Syria.
১৪এই ভাবে নিম্শির নাতি যিহোশাফটের ছেলে যেহূ যোরামের বিরুদ্ধে ষড়যন্ত্র করলেন। সেই দিন যোরাম ও সমস্ত ইস্রায়েলীয়রা অরামের রাজা হসায়েলের থেকে রামোৎ-গিলিয়দ রক্ষা করেছিলেন;
15 But Jehoram the king had returned to get himself healed in Jezreel, of the wounds wherewith the Syrians had wounded him, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria. Then said Jehu—If such is your mind, let no fugitive get forth out of the city, to go and tell it in Jezreel.
১৫কিন্তু অরামের রাজা হসায়েলের সঙ্গে যোরামের রাজার যুদ্ধের দিন অরামীয়েরা তাঁকে যেসব আঘাত করেছিল, তা থেকে সুস্থ হয়ে উঠার জন্য তিনি যিষ্রিয়েলে ফিরে গিয়েছিলেন। পরে যেহূ যোরামের দাসেদের বললেন, “যদি তোমরা একমত হও, তবে যিষ্রিয়েলে খবর দেবার জন্য কাউকে পালিয়ে এই নগর থেকে বেরতে দিও না।”
16 So Jehu rode in a chariot, and went towards Jezreel, for, Joram, was lying there, —and, Ahaziah king of Judah, had come down to see Joram.
১৬তারপর যেহূ রথে চড়ে যিষ্রিয়েলে গেলেন, কারণ যোরাম সেখানে বিছানায় শুয়ে ছিলেন। আর যিহূদার রাজা অহসিয় যোরামকে দেখতে নেমে গিয়েছিলেন।
17 Now, the watchman, was standing upon the tower, in Jezreel, so he saw the great company of Jehu, when he came, and said—A great company, can I see! Then said Jehoram—Take a horseman and send to meet them, that he may say—Is it peace?
১৭তখন যিষ্রিয়েলের দুর্গের উপর পাহারাদার দাঁড়িয়েছিল; যেহূর আসার দিনের সে তাঁর দলকে দেখে বলল, “আমি একটি দল দেখছি।” যোরাম বললেন, “তাদের সঙ্গে দেখা করতে একজন ঘোড়াচালককে পাঠিয়ে দাও, সে গিয়ে জিজ্ঞাসা করুক, ‘সব কিছু ঠিক আছে তো’?”
18 So the horseman went to meet him, and said—Thus, saith the king, Is it peace? And Jehu said—What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me. And the watchman told, saying, The messenger came up to them, but hath not turned back.
১৮পরে একজন ঘোড়াচালক তাঁর সঙ্গে দেখা করতে গিয়ে বলল, “রাজা জিজ্ঞাসা করেছেন, ‘সব কিছু ঠিক আছে তো’?” যেহূ বললেন, “মঙ্গল নিয়ে তোমার দরকার কি? তুমি আমার পিছনে পিছনে এস।” পরে পাহারাদার এই খবর দিল, “সেই দূত তাদের কাছে গেল ঠিকই, কিন্তু ফিরে এলো না।”
19 Then sent he a second horseman, and he came up to them and said, Thus, saith the king, Is it peace? And Jehu said—What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me.
১৯তখন রাজা আর এক জনকে ঘোড়ায় করে পাঠালেন; সে তাদের কাছে গিয়ে বলল, “রাজা জিজ্ঞাসা করেছেন, ‘সব কিছু ঠিক আছে তো’?” যেহূ বললেন, “মঙ্গল নিয়ে তোমার দরকার কি? তুমি আমার পিছনে পিছনে এস।”
20 And the watchman told, saying, He came up to them, but hath not turned back, —and, the driving, is like the driving of Jehu son of Nimshi; for, with mad haste, doth he drive.
২০সেই পাহারদারটি খবর দিল, “এই লোকটি তাদের কাছে গেল, কিন্তু সেও এলো না; আর রথ চালানো দেখে মনে হচ্ছে নিম্শির নাতি যেহূ, কারণ সে পাগলের মতই রথ চালায়।”
21 Then said Jehoram, Harness! So one harnessed his chariot, —and Jehoram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went forth, each man in his chariot, yea they went forth to meet Jehu, and came upon him in the heritage of Naboth the Jezreelite.
২১তখন যোরাম বললেন, “রথ সাজাও।” তখন তারা তাঁর রথ সাজাল। তারপর ইস্রায়েলের রাজা যোরাম ও যিহূদার রাজা অহসিয় নিজের নিজের রথে চড়ে যেহূর সঙ্গে দেখা করবার জন্য বের হলেন। যিষ্রিয়েলীয় নাবোতের জমিতে তাঁর দেখা পেলেন।
22 And it came to pass, when Jehoram saw Jehu, that he said—Is it peace, Jehu? And he said—What can be the peace, while thy mother Jezebel’s harlotries and her incantations do so abound?
২২যোরাম যেহূকে দেখেই জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, “যেহূ, সব কিছু ঠিক আছে তো?” উত্তরে তিনি বললেন, “যতক্ষণ তোমার মা ঈষেবলের ব্যভিচার ও যাদুবিদ্যা থাকে, সে পর্যন্ত মঙ্গল কি করে হতে পারে?”
23 Then Jehoram turned his hands, and fled, —and said unto Ahaziah—Treachery! O Ahaziah!
২৩তখন যোরাম ঘুরে পালাবার দিন অহসিয়কে ডেকে বললেন, “হে অহসিয়, বিশ্বাসঘাতকতা।”
24 And, Jehu, bent his bow, and smote Jehoram, between his arms, —and the arrow came out at his heart, —and he sank down in his chariot.
২৪পরে যেহূ তাঁর সমস্ত শক্তি দিয়ে ধনুকে টান দিয়ে যোরামের দুই কাঁধের মাঝখানে তীর ছুঁড়লেন, আর তির গিয়ে তাঁর হৃদপিণ্ডে বিঁধল, তাতে তিনি তাঁর রথের মধ্যে নিচু হয়ে পড়ে গেলেন।
25 Then said he unto Bidkar his officer, Take [him] up, [and] cast him forth, into the field-portion of Naboth the Jezreelite, —for remember, when I and thou were riding as a couple together after Ahab his father, that, Yahweh, laid upon him this doom:
২৫তখন যেহূ তাঁর সেনাপতি বিদ্করকে বললেন, “তুমি ওকে তুলে নিয়ে যিষ্রিয়েলীয় নাবোতের জমিতে ফেলে দাও; কারণ মনে করে দেখ, আমি আর তুমি তাঁর বাবা আহাবের পিছনে ঘোড়ায় করে যখন যাচ্ছিলাম, তখন সদাপ্রভু তাঁর বিরুদ্ধে এই ভাববাণী বলেছিলেন,
26 Surely, the blood of Naboth and the blood of his sons, have I lately seen, declareth Yahweh, therefore will I requite thee in this portion, declareth Yahweh. Now, therefore, take [him] up, [and] cast him forth into the portion, according to the word of Yahweh.
২৬‘গতকাল আমি নাবোত ও তার ছেলেদের রক্ত দেখেছি, এটাই সদাপ্রভু বলেন,’ আর সদাপ্রভু বলেন, ‘এই জমিতে তোমার আমি প্রতিশোধ নেব।’ অতএব, তুমি এখন সদাপ্রভুর কথা অনুসারে ওকে তুলে নিয়ে ঐ জমিতে ফেলে দাও।”
27 And, Ahaziah king of Judah, saw it, and fled by the way of the garden house, —and Jehu pursued him, and said—Him also! smite him in the chariot! It was in the ascent of Gur, which is by Ibleam. And he fled to Mepidgo, and died there.
২৭তখন যিহূদার রাজা অহসিয় তা দেখে বাগানবাড়ির পথ ধরে পালিয়ে গেলেন; আর যেহূ তাঁর পিছনে যেতে যেতে বললেন, “ওকেও রথের মধ্যে আঘাত কর,” তখন তারা যিব্লিয়মের কাছে গূরের নামে উঠবার পথে তাঁকে আঘাত করল; পরে তিনি মগিদ্দোতে পালিয়ে গিয়ে সেখানে মারা গেলেন।
28 And his servants conveyed him in a chariot and brought him into Jerusalem, —and buried him in his sepulchre, with his fathers, in the city of David.
২৮আর তাঁর দাসেরা তাঁকে রথে করে যিরূশালেমে নিয়ে গিয়ে দায়ূদ নগরে তাঁর পূর্বপুরুষদের সঙ্গে তাঁর কবরে তাঁকে কবর দিল।
29 Now it was, in the eleventh year of Joram son of Ahab, that Ahaziah began to reign over Judah.
২৯আহাবের ছেলে অহসিয় যিহোরামের রাজত্বের এগারো বছরে যিহূদার রাজত্ব শুরু করেছিলেন।
30 Now, when Jehu entered Jezreel and, Jezebel, heard of it, she set her eyes in stibium, and ornamented her head, and looked forth through the lattice.
৩০পরে যেহূ যিষ্রিয়েলে গেলেন; ঈষেবল সেই কথা শুনে চোখে কাজল দিয়ে সুন্দর করে চুল বেঁধে জানলা দিয়ে দেখছিল
31 So, when, Jehu, had entered in at the gate, she said, Was it peace, when Zimri slew his lord?
৩১এবং যেহূ ফটক দিয়ে ঢুকলে সে তাঁকে বলল, “ওহে সিম্রি! নিজের মনিবের হত্যাকারী! মঙ্গল তো?”
32 And he lifted up his face unto the lattice, and said—Who, is with me? Who? And there looked out unto him, two or three eunuchs.
৩২যেহূ তখন উপরে জানলার দিকে তাকিয়ে বললেন, “আমার পক্ষে কে? কে?” তখন দুই তিনজন নপুংসক তাঁর দিকে চেয়ে দেখল।
33 And he said—Hurl her down. And they hurled her down, —and there was sprinkled of her blood—upon the wall, and upon the horses, and they trode upon her.
৩৩আর তিনি আদেশ দিলেন, “ওকে নীচে ফেলে দাও।” তারা ঈষেবলকে নীচে ফেলে দিল, আর তাঁর রক্ত ছিট্কে গিয়ে দেয়ালে আর ঘোড়ার গায়ে ছিটকে পড়ল; যেহূ তাকে পা দিয়ে মাড়িয়ে গেলেন।
34 And, when he had entered and eaten and drunk, he said—Look, I pray you, after this accursed woman, and bury her, for the daughter of a king, she is.
৩৪তারপর যেহূ ভিতরে গিয়ে খাওয়া দাওয়া করলেন; আর বললেন, “তোমরা ঐ অভিশপ্তাকে কবর দাও, কারণ সে একজন রাজকন্যা।”
35 So they went to bury her, —but found not of her—save the skull, and the feet, and the palms of the hands.
৩৫এতে লোকেরা তাকে কবর দিতে গেল, কিন্তু তার মাথার খুলি, হাত ও পা ছাড়া আর কিছুই পেল না।
36 Then came they back, and told him, and he said—The word of Yahweh, it is, which he spake by the hand of his servant, Elijah the Tishbite, saying—In the town-land of Jezreel, shall dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel!
৩৬কাজেই তারা ফিরে গিয়ে তাঁকে খবর দিলে তিনি বললেন, “এটা সদাপ্রভুর বাক্য অনুসারে হল, তিনি তাঁর দাস তিশ্বীয় এলিয়ের মধ্যে দিয়ে এই কথা বলেছিলেন, ‘যিষ্রিয়েলের জমিতে কুকুরেরা ঈষেবলের মাংস খাবে
37 So shall the carcass of Jezebel become like heaps of dung on the face of the field, in the town-land of Jezreel: So that they cannot say, This, is Jezebel!
৩৭এবং যিষ্রিয়েলের জমিতে ঈষেবলের মৃতদেহ এমন সারের মত পড়ে থাকবে যে, কেউ বলতে পারবে না যে, এটাই ঈষেবল’।”
