2 Kings 13

1 In the twenty-third year of Joash son of Ahaziah king of Judah, began Jehoahaz, son of Jehu, to reign over Israel, in Samaria, [and he reigned] seventeen years.

En el año veintitrés de Joás hijo de Ocozías, rey de Judá, comenzó a reinar Joacaz hijo de Jehú sobre Israel en Samaria; y reinó diecisiete años.

2 And he did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —and went after the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat which he caused, Israel, to commit, he departed not therefrom.

E hizo lo malo en ojos del SEÑOR, y siguió los pecados de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, el que hizo pecar a Israel; y no se apartó de ellos.

3 Then was kindled the anger of Yahweh against Israel—and he delivered them into the hand of Hazael king of Syria, and into the hand of Ben-hadad son of Hazael, continually.

Y se encendió el furor del SEÑOR contra Israel, y los entregó en mano de Hazael rey de Siria, y en mano de Ben-adad hijo de Hazael, perpetuamente.

4 And Jehoahaz appeased the face of Yahweh, —and Yahweh hearkened unto him, because he had seen the oppression of Israel, for that, the king of Syria, oppressed them.

Mas Joacaz oró a la faz del SEÑOR, y el SEÑOR lo oyó; porque miró la aflicción de Israel, pues el rey de Siria los afligía.

5 So Yahweh gave unto Israel a saviour, and they went forth from under the hand of Syria, —and the sons of Israel dwelt in their own homes, as aforetime.

(Y dio el SEÑOR salvador a Israel, y salieron de bajo la mano de los siros; y habitaron los hijos de Israel en sus estancias, como antes.

6 Howbeit they departed not from the sins of the house of Jeroboam which he caused, Israel, to commit, therein, they walked, —moreover also, the Sacred Stem, still stood in Samaria.

Con todo eso no se apartaron de los pecados de la casa de Jeroboam, el que hizo pecar a Israel; en ellos anduvieron; y también el bosque permaneció en Samaria).

7 For he had not left remaining unto Jehoahaz a people, save only fifty horsemen, and ten chariots, and ten thousand footmen, —for the king of Syria had destroyed them, and had made them like dust in threshing.

Porque no le había quedado pueblo a Joacaz, sino cincuenta hombres de a caballo, y diez carros, y diez mil hombres de a pie; pues el rey de Siria los había destruido, y los había puesto como polvo para hollar.

8 Now, the rest of the story of Jehoahaz, and all that he did, and his might, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

Lo demás de los hechos de Joacaz, y todo lo que hizo, y sus valentías, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?

9 So then Jehoahaz slept with his fathers, and they buried him in Samaria, —and, Joash his son, reigned, in his stead.

Y durmió Joacaz con sus padres, y lo sepultaron en Samaria; y reinó en su lugar Joás su hijo.

10 In the thirty-seventh year of Joash king of Judah, began Jehoash son of Jehoahaz to reign over Israel, in Samaria, [and he reigned] sixteen years.

El año treinta y siete de Joás rey de Judá, comenzó a reinar Joás hijo de Joacaz sobre Israel en Samaria; y reinó dieciséis años.

11 And he did that which was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —he turned not away from all the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, which he caused, Israel, to commit, therein, he walked.

E hizo lo malo en ojos del SEÑOR: no se apartó de todos los pecados de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, el que hizo pecar a Israel; en ellos anduvo.

12 Now, the rest of the story of Joash, and all that he did, and his might, wherewith he fought against Amaziah king of Judah, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

Lo demás de los hechos de Joás, y todas las cosas que hizo, y sus valentías con que guerreó contra Amasías rey de Judá, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?

13 So then Joash slept with his fathers, and, Jeroboam, took his seat on his throne, —and Joash was buried in Samaria, with the kings of Israel.

Y durmió Joás con sus padres, y se sentó Jeroboam sobre su trono; y Joás fue sepultado en Samaria con los reyes de Israel.

14 Now, Elisha, had fallen sick of his sickness whereof he was about to die, —so then Joash king of Israel came down unto him, and wept upon his face, and said, My father! my father! The chariots of Israel and the horsemen thereof!

Estaba Eliseo enfermo de aquella su enfermedad de que murió. Y descendió a él Joás rey de Israel, y llorando delante de él, dijo: ¡Padre mío, padre mío, carros de Israel y su gente de a caballo!

15 And Elisha said unto him, Take bow and arrows. So he took unto him bow and arrows.

Y le dijo Eliseo: Toma el arco y las saetas. Tomó él entonces el arco y las saetas.

16 Then said he unto the king of Israel, Let thy hand rest upon the bow. So he let his hand rest thereon. Then Elisha put his own hands upon the hands of the king;

Y dijo Eliseo al rey de Israel: Pon tu mano sobre el arco como para tirar. Y puso él su mano sobre el arco. Entonces puso Eliseo sus manos sobre las manos del rey,

17 and said—Open the lattice eastward. And he opened it. Then said Elisha—Shoot! And he shot. Then he said, —The arrow of victory by Yahweh, yea the arrow of victory over Syria, therefore shalt thou smite Syria in Aphek, till it be consumed.

y dijo: Abre la ventana de hacia el oriente. Y cuando él la abrió dijo Eliseo: Tira. Y tirando él, dijo Eliseo: Saeta de salud del SEÑOR, y saeta de salud contra Siria; porque herirás a los siros en Afec, hasta consumirlos.

18 And he said—Take the arrows. So he took them. Then said he unto the king of Israel—Smite unto the ground. So he smote three times, and then stayed.

Y le volvió a decir: Toma las saetas. Y luego que el rey de Israel las hubo tomado, le dijo: Hiere la tierra. Y él hirió tres veces, y cesó.

19 Then was the man of God wroth against him, and said—Thou shouldest have smitten five or six times, then, hadst thou smitten Syria, until it had been consumed; But, now, three times, shalt thou smite Syria.

Entonces el varón de Dios, enojado con él, le dijo: A herir cinco o seis veces, herirías a Siria, hasta no quedar ninguno; pero ahora tres veces herirás a Siria.

20 And Elisha died, and they buried him, —now, troops of Moabites, used to enter the land, at the coming in of the year;

Y murió Eliseo, y lo sepultaron. Entrado el año vinieron ejércitos de moabitas a la tierra.

21 and it came to pass, as, they, were burying a man, that, lo! they saw a troop, so they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha, —and, as soon as the man touched the bones of Elisha, he came to life again, and rose up on his feet.

Y aconteció que queriendo unos sepultar un hombre, súbitamente vieron al ejército, y arrojaron al hombre en el sepulcro de Eliseo; y el muerto tocó los huesos de Eliseo, y revivió, y se levantó sobre sus pies.

22 And, Hazael king of Syria, had oppressed Israel all the days of Jehoahaz.

Así que Hazael, rey de Siria, afligió a Israel todo el tiempo de Joacaz.

23 Then was Yahweh gracious unto them, and had compassion upon them, and turned unto them, for the sake of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, —and was not willing to destroy them, nor to cast them off from his presence, as yet.

Mas el SEÑOR tuvo misericordia de ellos, y se compadeció de ellos, y los miró, por amor de su pacto con Abraham, Isaac y Jacob; y no quiso destruirlos ni echarlos de delante de sí hasta ahora.

24 So then Hazael king of Syria died; and, Ben-hadad his son, reigned, in his stead.

Y murió Hazael rey de Siria, y reinó en su lugar Ben-adad su hijo.

25 And Jehoash son of Jehoahaz again took the cities out of the hand of Ben-hadad son of Hazael, which he had taken out of the hand of Jehoahaz his father, in war, —three times, did Joash smite him, and recover the cities of Israel.

Y volvió Joás hijo de Joacaz, y tomó de mano de Ben-adad hijo de Hazael, las ciudades que él había tomado de mano de Joacaz su padre en guerra; porque tres veces lo hirió Joás, y restituyó las ciudades a Israel.
