2 Chronicles 11
1 And when Rehoboam had entered Jerusalem, he called together the house of Judah and Benjamin, a hundred and eighty thousand chosen men, warriors, —to fight against Israel, to bring back the kingdom to Rehoboam.
૧જયારે રહાબામ યરુશાલેમ પહોંચ્યો ત્યારે તેણે પોતાનું રાજય પુન: સ્થાપિત કરવા માટે અને ઇઝરાયલ સામે યુદ્ધ કરવા માટે યહૂદા અને બિન્યામીનના કુળમાંથી પસંદ કરેલા કુલ એક લાખ એંશી હજાર યોદ્ધાઓને ભેગા કર્યા.
2 Then came the word of Yahweh, unto Shemaiah the man of God, saying:
૨પરંતુ ઈશ્વરનું વચન ઈશ્વરભક્ત શમાયાની પાસે આવ્યું,
3 Speak unto Rehoboam son of Solomon, king of Judah, —and unto all Israel in Judah and in Benjamin, saying:
૩“યહૂદિયાના રાજા અને સુલેમાનના દીકરા રહાબામને, યહૂદિયા અને બિન્યામીનમાંના સર્વ ઇઝરાયલના લોકોને કહે;
4 Thus, saith Yahweh, Ye shall not go up neither shall ye fight against your brethren, return every man to his own house, for, from me, hath this thing been brought about. So they hearkened unto the words of Yahweh, and turned back from going against Jeroboam.
૪‘ઈશ્વર આમ કહે છે: તમારે તમારા ભાઈઓ તથા સંબંધીઓની વિરુદ્ધ હુમલો કે લડાઈ કરવી નહિ. દરેક માણસ પોતપોતાના ઘરે પાછા જાઓ, કેમ કે આ કામ મારાથી થયું છે.’” તેથી તેઓએ ઈશ્વરનું કહ્યું માન્યું અને યરોબામની વિરુદ્ધ ન જતા તેઓ પોતપોતાને ઘરે પાછા ગયા.
5 And Rehoboam dwelt in Jerusalem, —and built cities for defence, in Judah;
૫રહાબામ યરુશાલેમમાં રહ્યો અને યહૂદિયાની સુરક્ષા માટે નગરો બાંધ્યાં.
6 yea he built Bethlehem and Etam, and Tekoa;
૬તેણે બેથલેહેમ, એટામ, તકોઆ,
7 and Beth-zur and Soco, and Adullam;
૭બેથ-સૂર, સોખો, અદુલ્લામ,
8 and Gath and Mareshah, and Ziph;
૮ગાથ, મારેશા, ઝીફ,
9 and Adoraim and Lachish, and Azekah;
૯અદોરાઈમ, લાખીશ, અઝેકા,
10 and Zorah, and Aijalon and Hebron, which are in Judah and Benjamin, —as fortified cities.
૧૦સોરાહ, આયાલોન, અને હેબ્રોન નગરો બાંધ્યાં. એ યહૂદિયામાં અને બિન્યામીનમાં આવેલા કિલ્લાવાળાં નગરો છે.
11 And he strengthened the fortified places, —and put therein captains, and stores of food, and oil and wine;
૧૧તેણે ત્યાં મજબૂત કિલ્લા બંધાવ્યા અને સેનાપતિઓને અનાજ, તેલ અને દ્રાક્ષારસના ભંડાર આગળ ચોકી કરવા મૂક્યા.
12 and, in every several city, shields and spears, and made them exceedingly strong, —thus Judah and Benjamin remained his.
૧૨દરેક નગરમાં તેણે ઢાલો અને ભાલાઓ મૂક્યા અને તે નગરોને મજબૂત કર્યાં. યહૂદિયા અને બિન્યામીન તેના તાબામાં હતાં.
13 And, the priests and Levites that were in all Israel, took their stand with him, out of all their boundaries.
૧૩યાજકો અને લેવીઓ કે જેઓ ઇઝરાયલમાં હતા તેઓ તેમના સ્થળોમાંથી તેની પાસે આવ્યા.
14 For the Levites left their pasture lands, and their possessions, and came to Judah, and to Jerusalem, —for Jeroboam and his sons cast them off, from ministering as priests unto Yahweh;
૧૪લેવીઓ પોતાના ગોચર અને મિલકત મૂકીને યહૂદિયા અને યરુશાલેમ આવ્યા હતા કેમ કે યરોબામે અને તેના દીકરાઓએ તેઓને નસાડી મૂક્યા હતા કે જેથી તેઓ ઈશ્વર માટે યાજકની જવાબદારી બજાવી ન શકે.
15 and appointed for himself priests for the high places, and for the demons—and for the calves which he had made.
૧૫યરોબામે સભાસ્થાનને માટે, પોતે બનાવેલા વાછરડાની અને બકરાની મૂર્તિની પૂજા માટે, તેઓના સ્થાને અન્ય યાજકો નિયુકત કર્યા.
16 And, after them—out of all the tribes of Israel, such as were setting their heart to seek Yahweh God of Israel, came to Jerusalem, to sacrifice unto Yahweh, God of their fathers.
૧૬તેઓની પાછળ ઇઝરાયલનાં કુળોના સર્વ લોકો, જેઓએ પોતાનાં અંત: કરણ ઇઝરાયલના પ્રભુ, ઈશ્વરને શોધવામાં લગાવ્યાં હતાં તેઓ પોતાના પિતૃઓના પ્રભુ ઈશ્વરને યજ્ઞ કરવા યરુશાલેમ આવ્યા.
17 So they strengthened the kingdom of Judah, and emboldened Rehoboam son of Solomon, for three years, —for they walked in the way of David and Solomon, for three years.
૧૭તે લોકોના કારણે યહૂદિયાનું રાજય બળવાન થયું. તે ત્રણ વર્ષ દરમિયાન તેઓએ સુલેમાનના પુત્ર, રહાબામને બળવાન કર્યો, કેમ કે ત્રણ વર્ષ સુધી તેઓ દાઉદ અને સુલેમાનને પગલે ચાલ્યા હતા.
18 And Rehoboam took him to wife, Mahalath, daughter of Jerimoth, son of David, —and Abihail, daughter of Eliab, son of Jesse;
૧૮રહાબામે માહાલાથની સાથે લગ્ન કર્યું. માહલાથ દાઉદના દીકરા યરિમોથની દીકરી હતી. યિશાઈના દીકરા અલિયાબની દીકરી અબિહાઈલ તેની માતા હતી.
19 and she bare him sons, —Jeush and Shamariah and Zaham.
૧૯તેને ત્રણ પુત્રો થયા; યેઉશ, શમાર્યા અને ઝાહામ.
20 And, after her, he took Maacah, daughter of Absolom, —and she bare him Abijah, and Attai, and Ziza, and Shelomith.
૨૦માહલાથ પછી રહાબામે આબ્શાલોમની પુત્રી માકા સાથે લગ્ન કર્યું. તેણે અબિયા, આત્તાય, ઝીઝાહ અને શલોમીથને જન્મ આપ્યો.
21 And Rehoboam loved Maacah daughter of Absolom, above all his wives and his concubines, for, eighteen wives, took he, and sixty concubines, —and begat twenty-eight sons, and sixty daughters.
૨૧પોતાની બધી પત્નીઓ અને ઉપપત્નીઓ કરતાં રહાબામ માકા ઉપર વધારે પ્રેમ રાખતો હતો. તેને બધી મળીને અઢાર પત્નીઓ અને સાઠ ઉપપત્નીઓ હતી. તેના અઠ્ઠાવીસ દીકરા અને સાઠ દીકરીઓ હતી.
22 So then Rehoboam appointed Abijah son of Maacah as head, to be chief ruler among his brethren, —yea that he might make him king.
૨૨રહાબામે માકાના દીકરા અબિયાને તેના બધા ભાઈઓમાં અધિકારી નીમ્યો; તે તેને રાજા બનાવવાનું વિચારતો હતો.
23 So he took heed, and dispersed all his sons throughout all the lands of Judah and Benjamin, unto all the fortified cities, and gave them food in abundance, —and asked a multitude of wives.
૨૩રહાબામે કુશળતાપૂર્વક રાજ કર્યું; તેણે તેના બધા પુત્રોને યહૂદિયાના અને બિન્યામીનનાં સર્વ કિલ્લાવાળાં નગરોમાં મોકલી દીધા. તેણે તેઓને માટે ખાવાપીવાની સામગ્રી પુષ્કળ પ્રમાણમાં પૂરી પાડી. ઘણી સ્ત્રીઓ સાથે તેઓના લગ્ન કરાવ્યાં.
