< 1 Peter 1 >

1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, unto the chosen pilgrims of the dispersion, throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia, —
Peteru, aposteli Jesu Kristi, Sí àwọn àyànfẹ́ Ọlọ́run, ti wọ́n ń ṣe àtìpó ní àgbáyé, tiwọn tú káàkiri sí Pọntu, Galatia, Kappadokia, Asia, àti Bitinia,
2 [Chosen] according to the fore-knowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of Spirit, unto obedience and the sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ, Favour unto you, and peace, be multiplied!
àwọn ẹni tí a ti yàn gẹ́gẹ́ bí ìmọ̀tẹ́lẹ̀ Ọlọ́run Baba, nípa ìsọdimímọ́ Ẹ̀mí, sí ìgbọ́ràn àti ìbùwọ́n ẹ̀jẹ̀ Jesu Kristi: Kí oore-ọ̀fẹ́ àti àlàáfíà máa bí sì fún yín.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who, according to his great mercy, hath regenerated us unto a living hope, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from among the dead,
Ìyìn yẹ Ọlọ́run àti Baba Jesu Kristi Olúwa wa! Ẹni tí ó tún wa bí gẹ́gẹ́ bí àánú ńlá rẹ̀ sínú ìrètí ààyè nípa àjíǹde Jesu Kristi kúrò nínú òkú,
4 Unto an inheritance, incorruptible and undefiled and unfading, reserved in the heavens for you
àti sínú ogún àìdíbàjẹ́, àti àìlábàwọ́n, àti èyí tí kì í ṣá, tí a ti fi pamọ́ ni ọ̀run dè yin,
5 who, in God’s power, are being guarded through faith unto salvation—ready to be revealed in the last ripe time:
ẹyin tí a ń pamọ́ nípa agbára Ọlọ́run nípa ìgbàgbọ́ si ìgbàlà, tí a múra láti fihàn ní ìgbà ìkẹyìn.
6 Wherein ye exult, though, for a little, just now, if needful, put to grief in manifold temptations,
Ẹ yọ̀ nínú èyí púpọ̀, bí ó tilẹ̀ jẹ́ pe nísinsin yìí fún ìgbà díẹ̀, níwọ̀n bí ó ti yẹ, a ti fi ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ ìdánwò bá yín nínú jẹ́.
7 In order that the proving of your faith—much more precious than of gold that perisheth even though, by means of fire, it is proved—may be found unto praise and glory and honour in the revealing of Jesus Christ, —
Àwọn wọ̀nyí sì wáyé ki ìdánwò ìgbàgbọ́ yín tí ó ni iye lórí ju wúrà, ti ń ṣègbé lọ, bí ó tilẹ̀ jẹ́ pé iná ni a fi ń dán an wò, lè yọrísí ìyìn àti ògo àti ọlá ni ìgbà ìfarahàn Jesu Kristi.
8 Whom, not having seen, ye love, on whom, though at present not looking, but believing, ye exult with joy unspeakable and filled with glory,
Ẹni tí ẹ̀yin fẹ́ láìrí, ẹni tí ẹ̀yin gbàgbọ́, bí ó tilẹ̀ jẹ́ pé ẹ kò rí i nísinsin yìí ẹ̀yin sì ń yọ ayọ̀ tí a kò lè fi ẹnu sọ, tí ó sì kún fún ògo;
9 Being about to bear away the end of your faith—a salvation of souls:
ẹyin sì ń gba ìlépa ìgbàgbọ́ yín, àní ìgbàlà ọkàn yín.
10 Concerning which salvation, prophets—who concerning the favour for you, did prophesy—sought out and searched out,
Ní ti ìgbàlà yìí, àwọn wòlíì tí wọ́n sọ àsọtẹ́lẹ̀ nípa oore-ọ̀fẹ́ tí ó mú tọ̀ yín wá, wọ́n wádìí jinlẹ̀ lẹ́sọ̀ lẹ́sọ̀.
11 Searching into what particular, or what manner, of season the Spirit of Christ which was in them was pointing to, when witnessing beforehand as to—The sufferings, for Christ, and the glories, after these, —
Wọ́n ń wádìí ìgbà wo tàbí irú sá à wo ni Ẹ̀mí Kristi tí ó wà nínú wọ́n ń tọ́ka sí, nígbà tí ó jẹ́rìí ìyà Kristi àti ògo tí yóò tẹ̀lé e.
12 Unto whom it was revealed—that, Not unto themselves, but unto us, they were ministering them, which things have, now, been announced unto you through them who have told you the good tidings with Holy Spirit sent forth from heaven: into which things messengers are coveting to obtain a nearer view.
Àwọn ẹni tí a fihàn fún, pé kì í ṣe fún àwọn tìkára wọn, bí kò ṣe fún àwa ni wọ́n ṣe ìránṣẹ́ ohun wọ̀n-ọn-nì, tí a ti ròyìn fún yin nísinsin yìí, láti ọ̀dọ̀ àwọn tó ti ń wàásù ìyìnrere náà fún yín nípasẹ̀ Ẹ̀mí Mímọ́ tí a rán wá láti ọ̀run; ohun tí àwọn angẹli ń fẹ́ láti wò.
13 Wherefore, girding up the loins of your mind, keeping sober, perseveringly direct your hope unto the favour, being borne along to you, in the revealing of Jesus Christ:
Nítorí náà, ẹ múra ọkàn yín sílẹ̀, ẹ kó ara yín ní ìjánu, kí ẹ sì fi ìrètí yín ní kíkún sí oore-ọ̀fẹ́, èyí tí a ń mu bọ̀ fún yin ni ìgbà ìfarahàn Jesu Kristi.
14 As obedient persons, not configuring yourselves unto your former covetings in your ignorance:
Bí àwọn ọmọ tí ń gbọ́rọ̀, ẹ ma ṣe da ara yín pọ̀ mọ́ ìfẹ́kúfẹ̀ẹ́ àìmọ́ yín ti àtijọ́.
15 But, according as he that hath called you is holy, do, ye yourselves, also become, holy in all manner of behaviour, —
Ṣùgbọ́n gẹ́gẹ́ bí ẹni tí o pè yin ti jẹ mímọ́; bẹ́ẹ̀ ni kí ẹ̀yin náà jẹ mímọ́.
16 Inasmuch as it is written—Holy shall ye be, because, I, am holy.
Nítorí a ti kọ ọ pé, “Ẹ jẹ́ mímọ́: nítorí tí Èmi jẹ mímọ́!”
17 And, if, as Father, ye are invoking him who, without respect of persons, judgeth according to each man’s work, with reverence, for the time of your sojourning, behave ye;
Níwọ́n bí ẹ̀yin ti ń ké pe Baba, ẹni tí ń ṣe ìdájọ́ gẹ́gẹ́ bí iṣẹ́ olúkúlùkù láìṣe ojúsàájú, ẹ máa lo ìgbà àtìpó yin ni ìbẹ̀rù.
18 Knowing that, Not with corruptible things, with silver or gold, have ye been redeemed from your unmeaning behaviour paternally handed down,
Níwọ̀n bí ẹ̀yin ti mọ̀ pé a kò fi ohun ìdíbàjẹ́ rà yín padà, bí fàdákà tàbí wúrà kúrò nínú ìwà asán yín, tí ẹ̀yin ti jogún láti ọ̀dọ̀ àwọn baba yín.
19 But with precious blood, as of a lamb, unblemished and unspotted, of an Anointed One, —
Ṣùgbọ́n pẹ̀lú ẹ̀jẹ̀ iyebíye, bí i ti ọ̀dọ́-àgùntàn ti kò lábùkù, tí kò sì lábàwọ́n, àní, ẹ̀jẹ̀ Kristi.
20 Foreknown, indeed, before the foundation of the world, but made manifest at a last stage of the times, for the sake of you
Ẹni tí a ti mọ̀ tẹ́lẹ̀ nítòótọ́ ṣáájú ìpilẹ̀ṣẹ̀ ayé, ṣùgbọ́n tí a fihàn ní ìgbà ìkẹyìn wọ̀nyí nítorí yín.
21 who, through him, are faithful towards God, —Who raised him from among the dead, and glory to him gave, So that your faith and hope are directed towards God:
Àní ẹ̀yin tí o tipasẹ̀ rẹ̀ gba Ọlọ́run gbọ́, ẹni ti ó jí i dìde kúrò nínú òkú, tí ó sì fi ògo fún un; kí ìgbàgbọ́ àti ìrètí yín lè wà lọ́dọ̀ Ọlọ́run.
22 Having purified, your souls, by the obedience of the truth, unto unfeigned brotherly affection, from the heart, love, one another, earnestly;
Níwọ́n bí ẹ̀yin ti wẹ ọkàn yin mọ́ nípa ìgbọ́ràn yín sí òtítọ́ sí ìfẹ́ ará ti kò ní ẹ̀tàn, ẹ fẹ́ ọmọnìkejì yín gidigidi láti ọkàn wá.
23 Having been regenerated—Not out of corruptible seed, but incorruptible—through means of the word of a Living and Abiding God; (aiōn g165)
Bí a ti tún yín bí, kì í ṣe láti inú ìdíbàjẹ́ wá, bí kò ṣe èyí ti kì í díbàjẹ́ nípa ọ̀rọ̀ Ọlọ́run tí ń bẹ láààyè tí ó sì dúró. (aiōn g165)
24 Inasmuch as—All flesh, is as grass, and, all the glory thereof, as the flower of grass, —The grass hath withered, and the flower hath fallen out,
Nítorí pé, “Gbogbo ènìyàn dàbí koríko, àti gbogbo ògo rẹ̀ bi ìtànná koríko. Koríko á máa gbẹ ìtànná a sì máa rẹ̀ dànù,
25 But the declaration of the Lord age-abidingly remaineth; And, this, is a declaration which in the joyful message hath been announced unto you. (aiōn g165)
ṣùgbọ́n ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa dúró títí láé.” Ọ̀rọ̀ náà yìí sì ni ìyìnrere tí a wàásù fún yín. (aiōn g165)
