< 1 Kings 6 >

1 And so it came to pass, in the four hundred and eightieth year, by the coming forth of the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year (in the month of Zif, the same, being the second month) of the reign of Solomon over Israel, that he began to build the house unto Yahweh.
Hahoi hettelah ao. Isarel catounnaw Izip ram dawk hoi a tâco nahoi kum 480, Isarelnaw Solomon ni a uknae kum 4 nah, Ziv thapa, ayung hni nah BAWIPA e im sak hane a kamtawng awh.
2 Now, the house which King Solomon built unto Yahweh, was sixty cubits in length, and twenty in breadth, —and thirty cubits in height.
Solomon ni BAWIPA e im a sak e teh ayung dong 60, adangka dong 20, arasang dong 30 touh a pha.
3 And, the porch in front of the temple of the house, was twenty cubits in length, according to the breadth of the house, —ten cubits in breadth, in front of the house.
Hahoi im hmuen kathoung imhma lae alawilah teh, adangka hoi kâvan lah dong 20 touh a saw teh, a hma lae adangka teh dong 10 touh a pha.
4 And he made to the house windows, with closed bars.
Im dawk ang sak nahanelah kathounge hlalangawnaw hai a sak.
5 And he built—by the wall of the house—a gallery, round about, against the walls of the house, round about, both to the temple, and to the shrine, —and he made side chambers round about.
Bawkim tapang hoi kâkuen lah imrakhan buet touh a sak teh, hot ni yah bawkim tapang koung a kalup. Thoungnae hoi athungpoung lae hmuen kathoung hai mek a kalup sin teh, petkâkalup lah rakhancanaw hah a sak.
6 The, lowest gallery, was five cubits broad, and, the middle, six cubits broad, and, the third, seven cubits broad, —for he put, ledges, against the house round about, on the outer side, so as not to make fastenings in the walls of the house.
A rahim lae rakhan teh dong 5, alungui e rakhan teh dong 6, a lathueng e rakhan teh dong 7 touh a pha. Bangkongtetpawiteh, rakhannaw teh im e tapang dawk kâen hoeh.
7 Now, the house, when it was in building, with whole quarry-stones, was built, —neither hammer, nor axe, nor any tools of iron, was heard in the house, when it was in building.
Hahoi, Bawkim a sak awh nah, hote hmuen koe sin hoehnahlan dêi tangcoung e talungnaw hoi sak e lah ao dawkvah, cakkin, cakâ, sum pawlawk bawkim thung thai e lah awm hoeh.
8 The entrance of the lowest story, was on the right side of the house, —and, by winding stairs, went they up unto the middle [story], and, out of the middle, into, the third.
A rahim e rakhan dawk kâennae tho teh, bawkim e arasang lah a o, alungui e rakhan dawk teh khalai hoi luen lah ao teh, alungui e rakhan dawk hoi a lathueng e khan dawk luen lah ao.
9 So he built the house, and finished it, —and ceiled the house with planks and beams of cedar;
Hottelah bawkim teh a cum awh. Bawkim e parei thingtunaw hah Sidar thing e pangkhek hoi thingphek hoi a ramuk awh.
10 and built the gallery against all the house, five cubits in height, —and so fastened the house, with timber of cedar.
Bawkim petkâkalup lah sak e a dotnaw teh, a rasang dong 5, imhmawt teh bawkim dawk a kâkuetsak.
11 Then came the word of Yahweh unto Solomon, saying:
BAWIPA e lawk Solomon koe a pha teh,
12 Concerning this house, which thou art building, If thou wilt walk in my statutes, and, my regulations, wilt practise, and so observe all my commandments, by walking in them, Then will I establish my word with thee, which I spake unto David thy father;
Na sak lahun e bawkim kong dawk, ka phunglam, lawkcengnae hoi kâpoelawknaw pueng na tarawi pawiteh, na pa Devit koe ka dei tangcoung e kâlawk hah na lathueng vah ka cak sak han.
13 and will make my habitation in the midst of the sons of Israel, —and will not forsake my people Israel.
Isarel catounnaw koe kho ka sak vaiteh, ka tami Isarelnaw heh ka cettakhai mahoeh telah a ti.
14 Thus Solomon built the house, and finished it;
Hottelah, Solomon ni bawkim a sak teh a cum.
15 and he built the walls of the house on the inside, with boards of cedar, from the floor of the house, unto the cross-beams of the ceiling, he overlaid it with wood, on the inside, —and he overlaid the floor of the house with boards of fir.
Bawkim a thung lae tapang teh Sidar thing hoi a sak. Carawng hoi lemphu, tapang totouh a thung e rakhan totouh, koung a bet, carawng teh hmaica thing hoi a sak.
16 And he built twenty cubits, at the hinder part of the house, with boards of cedar, from the floor as far as the cross-beams, —and he built it within, for a shrine, even for the holy of holies;
Hmuen kathoung hoi kathoungpounge hmuen hanlah ayung, adangka dong 20 touh ka kaw e im hah rakhan teh carawng teh Sidar thing hoi a sak.
17 but, forty cubits, was the house itself, —the same, was the temple, before the oracle.
Hote rakhan hmalah sak e bawkim teh, ayung dong 40 touh a pha.
18 And, the cedar for the house within, was carved with colocynths, and with festoons of flowers, —the whole, was cedar, there was no stone to be seen.
Bawkim thungvah, Sidar thingpheknaw dawk tuiumpaw, a peinaw hoi akawi, talung kamnue hoeh nahanelah Sidar thing hoi a ramuk.
19 And, the shrine in the midst of the house within, made he ready, —for placing there, the ark of the covenant of Yahweh.
Hottelah, BAWIPA e lawkkam thingkong hruek nahanelah, bawkim thungvah hmuen kathoung a rakueng awh.
20 And, the interior of the shrine, was twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in breadth, and twenty cubits in height, and he overlaid it, with pure gold, —and overlaid the altar with cedar.
Hote hmuen kathoung teh ayung dong 20, adangka dong 20, arasang dong 20 touh a pha. Hot teh, kathounge suitui hoi a hluk teh, Sidar khoungroe hai a hluk.
21 Thus then did Solomon overlay the house within, with pure gold, —and he drew chains of gold across the front of the shrine, and overlaid it with gold;
Hottelah, Solomon ni bawkim thung teh kathounge suitui hoi koung a hluk.
22 yea, all the house, overlaid he with gold, until he had made all the house into one whole, —even all the altar that was by the shrine, overlaid he with gold.
Bawkim teh abuemlahoi suitui hoi a hluk teh hmuen kathoung teng e khoungroe hai satui hoi a hluk.
23 And he made, within the shrine, two cherubim of wild olive wood, —ten cubits in height;
Hmuen kathoung koevah dong 10 reira ka rasang e Cherubim kahni touh olive thing hoi a sak.
24 and, five cubits, was the one wing of the cherub, and, five cubits, the second wing of the cherub, —ten cubits, from the one end of his wings unto the other end of his wings.
Cherubim rathei avanglae dong 5 touh a pha teh, avanglae hai dong 5 touh a pha. A rathei hmo buet touh hoi buet touh rahak vah dong 10 touh a pha.
25 Ten cubits, also was the second cherub, —of one size and one shape, were the two cherubim.
Cherubim buet touh dawk dong 10 touh a rasang. Cherubim buet touh e hai hottelah doeh.
26 The height of the one cherub, was ten cubits, —and, so, of the second cherub.
Hote cherubim teh im e athunglah a hruek awh teh, a ratheinaw teh a kadai.
27 And he placed the cherubim in the midst of the inner house, and the cherubim stretched forth their wings, —so that the wing of the one touched the [one] wall, and the wing of the other cherub, was touching the other wall, —and, their wings in the midst of the house, were touching, wing to wing.
Buet touh e rathei ni tapang a kâbet teh cherubim buet touh e rathei ni hai avanglae tapang hah a kâbet. Hahoi alungui vah cherubim rathei kahni touh e hah a kâhmo roi.
28 And he overlaid the cherubim with gold.
Cherubim teh satui hoi a hluk.
29 And, all the walls of the house round about, carved he with figures of cherubim, and palm-trees, and festoons of flowers, —within and without.
Bawkim a thung lae tapang hoi alawilae tapang dawk thuk e cherubim mei hoi a pei ka pei e samtuekung mei naw hai ao.
30 Even the floor of the house, overlaid he with gold, —within and without.
Hahoi, bawkim thung e carawng hoi alawilae carawng naw teh suitui hoi a hluk.
31 And, the entrance of the shrine, made he with doors, of wild olive-wood, the pillars and posts being a fifth.
Athung lae hmuen kathoung kâennae takhang teh, olive thing hoi a sak. Tho tâphai hoi tho tangkhang teh tapang pung panga touh dawk pung touh hoi a kâvan.
32 The two doors, also were of olive-wood, and he carved upon them carvings of cherubim, and palm-trees, and festoons of flowers, and overlaid them with gold, —yea he spread out, over the cherubim and over the palm-trees, the gold.
Hottelah olive thing hoi tho kahni touh a sak teh, hawvah cherubim hoi apei ka pei e samtuekungnaw dawk hai suitui a hluk.
33 So, also, made he for the entrance of the temple, with posts of wild olive-wood, —a fourth part.
Hot patetlah, hmuen kathoung thung kâennae tho takhangnaw hai olive thing hoi a tâphai, a tangkhang naw sak lah ao.
34 And, the two doors, were of fir wood, —the two leaves of the one door, were folding, and, the two leaves of the other door, were folding.
Tho buet touh dawk tâbaw kahni touh hoi, kâhei thai e hmaicathing hoi tho kahni touh hai a sak.
35 And he carved cherubim, and palm-trees, and festoons of flowers, and overlaid them with gold, smoothed out on the carved work.
Tho koevah, cherubim hoi a pei ka pei e samtuekung e mei naw a sak teh, a em suitui hoi kahawicalah a hluk.
36 And he built the inner court, with three rows of hewn stone, —and a row of beams of cedar.
Athung lae thongma hai bo e talung than thum touh hoi, Sidar thingphek dot touh hoi patuen patuen a sak sin.
37 In the fourth year, was laid the foundation of the house of Yahweh, —in the month Zif;
A kum 4, Ziv thapa nah BAWIPA e im teh adu a ung awh.
38 and, in the eleventh year, in the month Bul—the same, is the eighth month, was the house finished, as to all the particulars thereof, and as to all the appointments thereof, —so then he built it in seven years.
Hahoi, kum 12, Bul thapa, thapa yung taroe nah im teh a kâcai awh e patetlah hnonaw pueng he a cum awh teh, kum 7 touh a ro awh.
