< 1 Kings 6 >

1 And so it came to pass, in the four hundred and eightieth year, by the coming forth of the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year (in the month of Zif, the same, being the second month) of the reign of Solomon over Israel, that he began to build the house unto Yahweh.
Israel kaminawk Izip prae hoi amlaemhaih saning cumvai pali, quitazetto haih, Solomon siangpahrang mah Israel kaminawk ukhaih saning palito haih, Ziv khrah, hnetto haih akhrah naah, anih mah Angraeng ih im to sak amtong.
2 Now, the house which King Solomon built unto Yahweh, was sixty cubits in length, and twenty in breadth, —and thirty cubits in height.
Solomon siangpahrang mah Angraeng han sak ih im loe, dong quitarukto sawk, dong pumphaeto kawk moe, dong quithumto sang.
3 And, the porch in front of the temple of the house, was twenty cubits in length, according to the breadth of the house, —ten cubits in breadth, in front of the house.
Tempul akunhaih ahmaa ih im loe, dong pumphaeto sawk, im kawkhaih doeh to setto sawk toeng; im ih imphu hmabang loe dong hato oh.
4 And he made to the house windows, with closed bars.
Im ah ni aengh akun thai hanah tamcaek thokbuemnawk to a sak.
5 And he built—by the wall of the house—a gallery, round about, against the walls of the house, round about, both to the temple, and to the shrine, —and he made side chambers round about.
Tempul tapang taeng, hmuenciim ataeng, im ataeng kangkui ah im akhaan to a sak.
6 The, lowest gallery, was five cubits broad, and, the middle, six cubits broad, and, the third, seven cubits broad, —for he put, ledges, against the house round about, on the outer side, so as not to make fastenings in the walls of the house.
Atlim koek imkhaan loe dong pangato kawk; a um ih imkhaan loe dong tarukto kawk moe, thumto haih imkhaan loe dong sarihto kawk. Ataeh ih homh loe im tapang ah amha han ai ah, im tasa bangah imkhaan tetta to a sak.
7 Now, the house, when it was in building, with whole quarry-stones, was built, —neither hammer, nor axe, nor any tools of iron, was heard in the house, when it was in building.
Im sak naah, to ahmuen ah sin ai naah sak tangcae thlungnawk hoiah sak pongah, caki, caka hoi sum tuen roe im tasa bang hoiah angthai ai.
8 The entrance of the lowest story, was on the right side of the house, —and, by winding stairs, went they up unto the middle [story], and, out of the middle, into, the third.
Imkhaan um ih thok loe, tempul bantang bangah oh; kangkoiah sak ih thlak hoiah ni aum ih imkhaan ah caeh, aum ih imkhaan hoiah thumto haih ranuih imkhaan ah caeh tahang.
9 So he built the house, and finished it, —and ceiled the house with planks and beams of cedar;
To tiah anih mah im to sak moe, a sak pacoeng; imphu loe sidar thing hoiah padih.
10 and built the gallery against all the house, five cubits in height, —and so fastened the house, with timber of cedar.
Im tapang taengah imkhaan to sak boih; to ih imkhaannawk loe dong pangato sang o boih moe, im hoiah sidar thing to angbetsak boih.
11 Then came the word of Yahweh unto Solomon, saying:
Angraeng ih lok Solomon khaeah phak,
12 Concerning this house, which thou art building, If thou wilt walk in my statutes, and, my regulations, wilt practise, and so observe all my commandments, by walking in them, Then will I establish my word with thee, which I spake unto David thy father;
hae im na sakhaih kawng pongah, ka thuih ih loknawk to na pazui moe, kang paek ih loknawk hoi ka lokcaekhaihnawk to na pazui nahaeloe, nampa David khaeah ka suek ih lok to, nang khaeah ka koepsak han.
13 and will make my habitation in the midst of the sons of Israel, —and will not forsake my people Israel.
Israel kaminawk salakah ka oh han, kaimah ih Israel kaminawk to ka caeh taak mak ai, tiah a naa.
14 Thus Solomon built the house, and finished it;
To pongah Solomon mah im to sak moe, pacoeng.
15 and he built the walls of the house on the inside, with boards of cedar, from the floor of the house, unto the cross-beams of the ceiling, he overlaid it with wood, on the inside, —and he overlaid the floor of the house with boards of fir.
Im tapang hoi im athung to sidar thing hoiah a sak moe, athung bang ih imphu tapang doeh to tiah, sidar thing hoiah a sak; imcih loe hmaica thing hoiah sak.
16 And he built twenty cubits, at the hinder part of the house, with boards of cedar, from the floor as far as the cross-beams, —and he built it within, for a shrine, even for the holy of holies;
Kaciim koek ahmuen, Sithaw lokthuihaih ahmuen hanah, kasawk hoi kakawk dong pumphaeto kaom im to pakaa moe, imcih hoi imphu khoek to sidar thingphaek hoiah a sak.
17 but, forty cubits, was the house itself, —the same, was the temple, before the oracle.
To ih imkhaan hmaa ah kaom tempul loe dong quipalito sawk.
18 And, the cedar for the house within, was carved with colocynths, and with festoons of flowers, —the whole, was cedar, there was no stone to be seen.
Sidar thing hoi sak ih im athung bang loe, soi ih tuidue thaih krang hoi apawk tangmuem krang hoiah koi; hmuen boih sidar thing hoiah a sak; thlung hoi sak ih hnuk han koi hmuen tidoeh om ai.
19 And, the shrine in the midst of the house within, made he ready, —for placing there, the ark of the covenant of Yahweh.
Angraeng lokkamhaih thingkhong suek hanah, im athungah Sithaw lokthuihaih ahmuen to a sak.
20 And, the interior of the shrine, was twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in breadth, and twenty cubits in height, and he overlaid it, with pure gold, —and overlaid the altar with cedar.
Athung bang ih lokthuihaih ahmuen loe dong pumphaeto sawk, dong pumphaeto kawk moe, dong pumphaeto sang. To imkhaan hoi sidar thing hoiah sak ih hmaicam loe, anih mah sui tui hoiah pazut.
21 Thus then did Solomon overlay the house within, with pure gold, —and he drew chains of gold across the front of the shrine, and overlaid it with gold;
Solomon mah tempul athung bang to kaciim sui tui hoiah pazut; lokthuihaih hmaicam pakaahaih ah a hmaa ah sui hoi sak ih sumqui to payang.
22 yea, all the house, overlaid he with gold, until he had made all the house into one whole, —even all the altar that was by the shrine, overlaid he with gold.
Tempul boih hoi lokthuihaih taengah kaom hmaicamnawk boih doeh, sui tui hoiah pazut.
23 And he made, within the shrine, two cherubim of wild olive wood, —ten cubits in height;
Athung bang ih lokthuihaih ahmuen ah loe olive thing hoiah sak ih, dong hato kasang cherubim hnetto a sak.
24 and, five cubits, was the one wing of the cherub, and, five cubits, the second wing of the cherub, —ten cubits, from the one end of his wings unto the other end of his wings.
Cherubim maeto ih pakhraeh loe, dong pangato oh moe, kalah maeto bang ih pakhraeh doeh dong pangato oh; pakhraeh tadong maeto hoi maeto bang khoek to dong hato oh.
25 Ten cubits, also was the second cherub, —of one size and one shape, were the two cherubim.
Kalah cherubim maeto bae loe dong hato oh; cherubim hnetto loe, akrang hoi a lenhaih doeh anghmong hoi.
26 The height of the one cherub, was ten cubits, —and, so, of the second cherub.
Cherubim maeto loe dong hato sang moe, kalah cherubim maeto doeh to tiah sang toeng.
27 And he placed the cherubim in the midst of the inner house, and the cherubim stretched forth their wings, —so that the wing of the one touched the [one] wall, and the wing of the other cherub, was touching the other wall, —and, their wings in the midst of the house, were touching, wing to wing.
Anih mah Cherubim to im athung koekah suek; cherubim pakhraeh phok naah, pakhraeh maeto mah tapang to phak moe, kalah maeto ih pakhraeh mah doeh maeto bang ih tapang to phak; imkhaan aum ah pakhraeh maeto hoi maeto angtongh hoi.
28 And he overlaid the cherubim with gold.
Anih mah cherubimnawk to sui tui hoiah pazut.
29 And, all the walls of the house round about, carved he with figures of cherubim, and palm-trees, and festoons of flowers, —within and without.
Im athung bang hoi tasa bang ih tapang nuiah, cherubim krang, ungsikung hoi apawk tangmuem krangnawk to oh.
30 Even the floor of the house, overlaid he with gold, —within and without.
Imcih loe sui hoiah pazut, athung hoi tasa bang doeh sui hoiah pazut boih.
31 And, the entrance of the shrine, made he with doors, of wild olive-wood, the pillars and posts being a fifth.
Lokthuihaih ahmuen akunhaih thoknawk loe, olive thing hoiah sak; thokbuem hoi homhnawk loe tapang pangato thungah maeto ahmuen to lak.
32 The two doors, also were of olive-wood, and he carved upon them carvings of cherubim, and palm-trees, and festoons of flowers, and overlaid them with gold, —yea he spread out, over the cherubim and over the palm-trees, the gold.
Olive thing hoiah sak ih thok hnetto pongah, cherubim krang, ungsikung hoi kapawk apawknawk to soi moe, sui tui hoiah pazut; cherubim hoi ungsikung doeh sui tui hoiah pazut.
33 So, also, made he for the entrance of the temple, with posts of wild olive-wood, —a fourth part.
Tapang ahmuen palito thungah ahmuen maeto kakawk, tempul thok homhnawk doeh olive thing hoiah a sak.
34 And, the two doors, were of fir wood, —the two leaves of the one door, were folding, and, the two leaves of the other door, were folding.
Thok maeto pongah thok amkhraephaih patta hnetto oh, thok hnetto loe hmaica thing hoiah a sak, kalah thok maeto pongah doeh thok amkhraephaih patta hnetto oh.
35 And he carved cherubim, and palm-trees, and festoons of flowers, and overlaid them with gold, smoothed out on the carved work.
To thok nuiah cherubim krang, ungsikung hoi apawk tangmuem krangnawk to soi pacoengah, soi ih krang to sui tui hoiah pazut boih.
36 And he built the inner court, with three rows of hewn stone, —and a row of beams of cedar.
Imthung longhma ih sipae to asom thumto khoek to thlung hoiah a thungh moe, sipae maeto loe sidar thing hoiah a thungh.
37 In the fourth year, was laid the foundation of the house of Yahweh, —in the month Zif;
Angraeng im ih imcih loe saning palito haih, Ziv khrah naah, a sak amtong.
38 and, in the eleventh year, in the month Bul—the same, is the eighth month, was the house finished, as to all the particulars thereof, and as to all the appointments thereof, —so then he built it in seven years.
Saning hatlaito, Bul, tiah kawk ih khrah tazetto naah, sak atimhaih baktih toengah, im to a sak pacoeng boih. Anih mah im to saning sarihto thung sak.
