1 Kings 10

1 And, when, the queen of Sheba, heard the report of Solomon, as pertaining to the Name of Yahweh, she came to prove him, with abstruse questions.

சாலொமோனின் புகழைப்பற்றியும் யெகோவாவின் பெயருடன் அவனுக்கிருந்த தொடர்பைப்பற்றியும் சேபாவின் அரசி கேள்விப்பட்டபோது, அவள் கடினமான கேள்விகளால் சாலொமோனை சோதித்துப் பார்ப்பதற்காக அங்கு வந்தாள்.

2 Yea she came to Jerusalem with a very heavily-laden train, of camels bearing spices, and gold in great abundance, and precious stones, —and, when she was come to Solomon, she spake unto him all that was near her heart;

அவள் தனது ஒட்டகங்களில் வாசனைப் பொருட்களையும், பெருந்தொகையான தங்கத்தையும், மாணிக்கக் கற்களையும் ஏற்றிக்கொண்டு, தனது பரிவாரங்களுடன் எருசலேமுக்கு வந்தாள். அவள் சாலொமோனிடம் வந்து, தனது மனதில் இருந்த எல்லா விஷயங்களைப் பற்றியும் அவனுடன் பேசினாள்.

3 and Solomon answered her all her questions, —there was nothing hidden from the king, which he told her not.

சாலொமோன் அவளுடைய எல்லாக் கேள்விகளுக்கும் பதில் சொன்னான். அரசன் அவளுக்கு விளக்கிச் சொல்ல முடியாத பதில் ஒன்றும் இருக்கவில்லை.

4 And, when the queen of Sheba had seen all the wisdom of Solomon, —and the house which he had built;

சேபாவின் அரசி சாலொமோனுடைய எல்லா ஞானத்தையும், அவன் கட்டியிருந்த அரண்மனையையும்,

5 and the food of his table, and the seated assembly of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers with their apparel, and his cupbearers, and his ascent by which he ascended unto the house of Yahweh, there was in her no more spirit.

அவனுடைய மேஜையிலிருந்த உணவையும், அவன் அலுவலர்களையும், தங்கள் உடைகளில் காணப்பட்ட பணியாளர்களையும், அவனுக்குத் திராட்சை இரசம் பரிமாறுகிறவர்களையும், அவன் யெகோவாவின் ஆலயத்தில் செலுத்திய தகன காணிக்கைகளையும் கண்டபோது, அவள் ஆச்சரியத்தில் மூழ்கினாள்.

6 And she said unto the king, True, was the word which I heard in mine own land, —concerning thine affairs, and concerning thy wisdom.

அப்பொழுது சேபாவின் அரசி அரசனிடம், “உமது சாதனைகளையும், உமது ஞானத்தையும் பற்றி நான் எனது நாட்டில் கேள்விப்பட்ட செய்தி உண்மையானது.

7 Howbeit I believed not the words, until that I had come and mine own eyes had seen, and lo! there had not been told me, the half, —thou dost exceed, in wisdom and prosperity, even the report which I heard!

ஆனால் நான் வந்து என் சொந்தக் கண்களால் பார்க்கும்வரை இவற்றை நம்பவேயில்லை. உண்மையில் இவற்றில் பாதியேனும் எனக்குச் சொல்லப்படவில்லை. நான் கேள்விப்பட்டதைப் பார்க்கிலும், ஞானமும் செல்வமும் பலமடங்கு உம்மிடம் அதிகமாயிருக்கிறது.

8 How happy, are thy wives, how happy, are these thy servants, —who do stand before thee continually, who hear thy wisdom!

உமது மக்கள் எவ்வளவு சந்தோஷமுடையவர்களாய் இருக்கவேண்டும். எப்பொழுதும் உமது முன்நின்று உமது ஞானத்தைக் கேட்கும் உமது அதிகாரிகள் எவ்வளவு மகிழ்ச்சியுடையவர்களாய் இருக்கவேண்டும்.

9 Yahweh thy God be blessed, who delighted in thee, to set thee upon the throne of Israel, —because Yahweh loveth Israel unto times age-abiding, therefore hath he appointed thee to be king, to execute justice and righteousness.

உம்மில் பிரியங்கொண்டு, உம்மை இஸ்ரயேலின் அரியணையில் அமர்த்தி, தமக்காக உம்மை அரசனாக்கிய உம்முடைய இறைவனாகிய யெகோவா துதிக்கப்படுவாராக. இஸ்ரயேல் மக்களை நிலைநிறுத்த உமது இறைவன் அவர்கள்மேல் கொண்டுள்ள நித்திய அன்பினால், நீர் அவர்களுக்கு நீதியையும் நியாயத்தையும் காத்து நடத்தும்படி அவர்களின்மேல் உம்மை அரசனாக்கியிருக்கிறார்” என்று சொன்னாள்.

10 And she gave unto the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold, and spices in great abundance, and precious stones, —there came in no more, such spice for abundance, as that which the queen of Sheba gave unto King Solomon.

அத்துடன் அவள் அரசனுக்கு நூற்றிருபது தாலந்து தங்கத்தையும், பெருந்தொகையான வாசனைப் பொருட்களையும் விலைமதிப்புள்ள மாணிக்கக் கற்களையும் கொடுத்தாள். சேபாவின் அரசி சாலொமோன் அரசனுக்குக் கொடுத்த அவ்வளவு வாசனைப் பொருட்கள் அதன்பின் மறுபடியும் ஒருபோதும் அங்கு கொண்டுவரப்படவில்லை.

11 Moreover also, the fleet of Hiram, which brought gold from Ophir, brought in, from Ophir sandal-wood in great abundance, and precious stones.

ஈராமின் கப்பல்கள் ஓப்பீரிலிருந்து தங்கத்தைக் கொண்டுவந்தன. அங்கிருந்து அவை அல்மக் மரங்களையும், விலைமதிப்புள்ள மாணிக்கக் கற்களையும், பெருமளவாகக் கொண்டுவந்தன.

12 So the king made of the sandal-wood a footpath to the house of Yahweh, and to the house of the king, lyres also and harps, for the singers, —there hath neither come in such sandal-wood, nor been seen, unto this day.

அரசன் இந்த அல்மக் மரங்களை யெகோவாவின் ஆலயத்துக்கும், அரச அரண்மனைக்கும் வேண்டிய ஆதாரங்களைச் செய்வதற்கும், இசைக் கலைஞர்களுக்கான யாழ்களையும், வீணைகளையும் செய்வதற்கும் பயன்படுத்தினான். இவ்வளவு தொகையான அல்மக் மரங்கள் அன்றிலிருந்து இன்றுவரை இறக்குமதி செய்யப்படவோ, காணப்படவோ இல்லை.

13 And, when, King Solomon, had given unto the queen of Sheba, all her desire, which she asked, besides that which he gave her as the bounty of King Solomon, she turned, and went to her own land, she and her servants.

சாலொமோன் அரசன் தன் அரச களஞ்சியத்தின் நிறைவிலிருந்து சேபாவின் அரசிக்குக் கொடுத்ததைவிட, ஆசைப்பட்டுக் கேட்ட எல்லாவற்றையும் கொடுத்தான். அதன்பின் அவள் புறப்பட்டு தன் பரிவாரங்களோடு தன் சொந்த நாட்டுக்குத் திரும்பிப் போனாள்.

14 And it came to pass that, the weight of the gold which came in unto Solomon in one year, was six hundred and sixty-six talents of gold;

ஒவ்வொரு வருடமும் சாலொமோன் பெற்ற தங்கத்தின் எடை அறுநூற்று அறுபத்தாறு தாலந்துகள் இருந்தன.

15 besides the tribute of the subjugated, and of the travelling merchants, —and of all the kings of Arabia, and the pashas of the land.

இத்துடன் வியாபாரிகளும் வர்த்தகர்களும், எல்லா அரபு நாட்டு அரசர்களும், உள்நாட்டின் ஆளுநர்களும் தங்கம் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்.

16 And King Solomon made two hundred shields, of beaten gold, six hundred [shekels] of gold, laid he upon one shield;

சாலொமோன் அரசன் அடித்த தங்கத்தகட்டால் இருநூறு பெரிய கேடயங்களைச் செய்தான். ஒவ்வொரு கேடயத்திற்கும் அறுநூறு சேக்கல் எடையுள்ள அடிக்கப்பட்ட தங்கம் செலவு செய்யப்பட்டது.

17 and three hundred bucklers, of beaten gold, one hundred and fifty shekels of gold, laid he upon one buckler, —and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.

அத்துடன் அவன் அடித்த தங்கத்தால் முந்நூறு சிறிய கேடயங்களையும் செய்தான். ஒவ்வொரு கேடயத்திற்கும் மூன்று மினா தங்கம் பயன்படுத்தப்பட்டது. அரசன் அவைகளை லெபனோன் வனம் என்ற அரண்மனையில் வைத்தான்.

18 And the king made a great throne of ivory, —and overlaid it with gold from Uphaz.

அதன்பின் அரசன் ஒரு பெரிய அரியணையைச் செய்து யானைத் தந்தத்தினால் அலங்கரித்தான். பின்பு அதைத் தரமான தங்கத்தகட்டால் மூடினான்.

19 There were, six steps, to the throne, and there was, a circular top, to the throne, behind it, and there were supports on this side and on that, unto the place of the seat, —with two lions standing beside the supports;

அந்த அரியணைக்கு ஆறு படிகள் இருந்தன. அதன்பின் பக்கத்தில் வட்ட வடிவமான உச்சி இருந்தது. அரியணையின் இரு பக்கங்களிலும் கைத்தாங்கிகள் இருந்தன. அவற்றின் இருபுறங்களிலும் ஒவ்வொரு சிங்கத்தின் உருவம் இருந்தது.

20 and, twelve lions, were standing there, upon the six steps, on this side and on that, —there had never been made the like, for any of the kingdoms.

ஒவ்வொரு படியின் முனையிலும் இரு சிங்கங்களாக ஆறுபடிகளிலும் பன்னிரண்டு சிங்க உருவங்கள் நின்றன. வேறு எந்த அரசாட்சியிலும் இப்படியான ஒரு அரியணை எக்காலத்திலும் செய்யப்பட்டிருக்கவில்லை.

21 And, all the drinking vessels of King Solomon, were of gold, and, all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon, were of pure gold, —none was of silver, it was accounted in the days of Solomon, as nothing.

சாலொமோன் அரசனின் பானபாத்திரங்கள் யாவும் தங்கத்தினாலேயே செய்யப்பட்டிருந்தன. லெபனோன் வனமாளிகை மண்டபத்திலிருந்த வீட்டு உபயோகப் பொருட்கள் எல்லாம் சுத்தத் தங்கத்தினால் செய்யப்பட்டிருந்தன. வெள்ளியினால் ஒன்றும் செய்யப்படவில்லை. ஏனெனில் சாலொமோனின் நாட்களில் வெள்ளி குறைந்த மதிப்புடையதாகவே கருதப்பட்டது.

22 For, a fleet of Tarshish, had the king, at sea, with the fleet of Hiram, —once in three years, came in the fleet of Tarshish, bringing gold and silver, ivory and apes, and peacocks.

அரசனுக்கு கடலில் ஈராமின் கப்பல்களுடன் தர்ஷீசின் கப்பல்களும் இருந்தது. மூன்று வருடங்களுக்கு ஒருமுறை கப்பல்கள் போய்த் திரும்பி வரும்போது தங்கம், வெள்ளி, யானைத்தந்தம், குரங்குகள், மயில்கள் போன்றவற்றை ஏற்றிக்கொண்டு வந்தன.

23 So King Solomon became greater than any of the kings of the earth, —for riches and for wisdom.

பூமியிலுள்ள மற்ற அரசர்களைவிட அரசன் சாலொமோன் செல்வத்திலும் ஞானத்திலும் மேம்பட்டவனாய் இருந்தான்.

24 And, all the earth, did seek the face of Solomon, —to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.

முழு உலகத்தாரும் சாலொமோனின் இருதயத்தில் இறைவன் கொடுத்த ஞானத்தைக் கேட்பதற்கு அவனை நாடி வந்தார்கள்.

25 And, they, did bring every man his present—vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and garments, and armour, and spices, horses and mules, —a rate of a year in a year.

வருடந்தோறும் அவனிடம் வந்த ஒவ்வொருவரும் அன்பளிப்பைக் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள். அவர்கள் வெள்ளிப் பாத்திரங்கள், தங்கப் பாத்திரங்கள், ஆடைகள், ஆயுதங்கள், வாசனைப் பொருட்கள், குதிரைகள், கோவேறு கழுதைகள் ஆகியவற்றைக் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்.

26 And Solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen, and so it was that he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, —for whom he found place in the chariot cities, and near the king, in Jerusalem.

சாலொமோன் தேர்களையும், குதிரைகளையும் திரளாய் சேர்த்தான். அவனிடம் ஆயிரத்து நானூறு தேர்களும், பன்னிரண்டாயிரம் குதிரைகளும் இருந்தன. அவன் தேர்களை அவற்றிற்குரிய பட்டணங்களிலும், அரசனாகிய தன்னிடத்தில் எருசலேமிலும் வைத்திருந்தான்.

27 And the king caused silver in Jerusalem to be as stones, —cedars also, caused he to be as the sycamores that are in the lowlands, for abundance.

அரசன் எருசலேமில் வெள்ளியைக் கற்களைப்போல் சாதாரணமாகவும், கேதுரு மரங்களை மலையடிவாரத்திலுள்ள காட்டத்தி மரங்களைப்போல ஏராளமாகவும் கிடைக்கும்படி செய்தான்.

28 And the horses that Solomon had were, an export, out of Egypt, —and, a company of the merchants of the king, used to fetch, a drove, at a price,

சாலொமோனுடைய குதிரைகள் எகிப்திலிருந்தும், சிலிசியாவிலிருந்தும் கொண்டுவரப்பட்டன. அரச வர்த்தகர்கள் அவற்றை அப்போதிருந்த விலைக்கு சிலிசியாவிலிருந்தே வாங்கினார்கள்.

29 And a chariot came up and forth out of Egypt, for six hundred shekels of silver and a horse for a hundred and fifty, —and, so, for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, by their means, came they forth.

எகிப்திலிருந்து ஒரு தேரை அறுநூறு சேக்கல் வெள்ளிக்கும், ஒரு குதிரையை நூற்றைம்பது சேக்கல் வெள்ளிக்கும் இறக்குமதி செய்தனர். அத்துடன் அவற்றை அவர்கள் ஏத்திய அரசர்களுக்கும், சீரிய அரசர்களுக்கும் ஏற்றுமதி செய்தனர்.
