1 John 3
1 Behold, what manner of love, the Father hath bestowed upon us—that, children of God, we should be called, —and such we are! Therefore, the world understandeth us not, because it understood not him.
Vede quão grande amor o Pai tem nos dado, que fôssemos chamados filhos de Deus. E nós somos. Por isso o mundo não nos conhece, pois não conhece a ele.
2 Beloved! now, are we, children of God; and, not yet, hath it been made manifest, what we shall be, —We know that, if it should be made manifest, like unto him, shall we be, because we shall see him, just as he is.
Amados, agora somos filhos de Deus, e ainda não está manifesto o que seremos. Porém sabemos que, quando ele se manifestar, seremos semelhantes a ele, pois o veremos como ele é.
3 And, whosoever hath this hope on him, is purifying himself, just as, He, is pure.
E todo aquele que tem nele essa esperança purifica a si mesmo, como também ele é puro.
4 Whosoever is committing sin, lawlessness also, is committing, and, sin, is, lawlessness;
Todo aquele que pratica o pecado também pratica injustiça, pois o pecado é injustiça.
5 And ye know, that, He, was made manifest—in order that, our sins, he should take away, and, sin, in him, is there none.
E sabeis que ele apareceu para tirar os pecados; e nele não há pecado.
6 Whosoever, in him, doth abide, is not sinning: whosoever is sinning, hath not seen him, and doth not understand him.
Todo aquele que nele permanece não pratica o pecado; todo aquele que costuma pecar não o viu nem o conheceu.
7 Dear children! Let, no one, lead you astray! He that is doing righteousness, is, righteous, just as, He, is righteous:
Filhinhos, ninguém vos engane. Quem pratica a justiça é justo, assim como ele é justo.
8 He that is committing sin, is, of the adversary, because, from the beginning, the adversary is sinning. To this end, was the Son of God made manifest, in order that he might undo the works of the adversary.
Quem pratica o pecado é do diabo, pois o diabo peca desde o princípio. Para isto o Filho de Deus se manifestou, para desfazer as obras do diabo.
9 Whosoever hath been born of God, is not committing, sin, because, a seed of him, within him, abideth; and he cannot be committing sin, because, of God, hath he been born.
Todo aquele que é nascido de Deus não pratica o pecado, pois a sua semente reside nele; e não pode praticar o pecado, porque é nascido de Deus.
10 Herein, are, manifest, the children of God, and the children of the adversary: Whoever is not doing righteousness, is not of God, nor yet he that is not loving his brother.
Nisto são reconhecíveis os filhos de Deus, e os filhos do diabo: todo aquele que não pratica a justiça, e não ama o seu irmão, não é de Deus.
11 Because, this, is the message which ye have heard from the beginning—that we should be loving one another, —
Pois esta é a mensagem que ouvistes desde o princípio: que nos amemos uns aos outros.
12 Not just as, Cain, was, of the wicked one, and slew his brother! And, for what cause, slew he him? Because, his works, were, wicked, whereas, those of his brother, were, righteous.
Não [sejamos] como Caim, [ que] era do maligno, e matou o seu irmão. E por que o matou? Porque as suas obras eram más, e as do seu irmão justas.
13 Be not marveling, brethren, if, the world, is hating you:
Irmãos, não vos surpreendeis se o mundo vos odeia.
14 We, know, that we have passed over out of death into life, because we love the brethren: he that loveth not, abideth in death.
Nós sabemos que já passamos da morte para a vida, pois amamos os irmãos. Quem não ama permanece na morte.
15 Whosoever is hating his brother, is, a murderer; and ye know that, no murderer, hath life age-during, within him abiding. (aiōnios g166)
Todo aquele que odeia o seu irmão é homicida. E sabeis que nenhum homicida tem a vida eterna habitando nele. (aiōnios g166)
16 Hereby, have we come to understand love: in that, He, for us, his life laid down; and, we, ought, for the brethren, our lives to lay down.
Nisto conhecemos o amor: ele deu a sua vida por nós. E nós devemos dar as [nossas] vidas pelos irmãos.
17 But, whoso hath this world’s goods, and beholdeth his brother having, need, and shutteth up his tender affections from him, how, is, the love of God, abiding in him?
Se alguém tiver bens do mundo, e vir o seu irmão em necessidade, e não se compadecer dele, como pode o amor de Deus estar nele?
18 Dear children! Let us not be loving in word, nor yet with the tongue, but in deed and truth.
Filhinhos, amemos não de palavra, nem de língua, mas sim com ação e verdade.
19 Hereby, shall we get to know, that, of the truth, we are, and, before him, shall persuade our heart;
E nisto saberemos que somos da verdade, e teremos segurança no nosso coração diante dele.
20 Because, if our own heart condemn us, greater, is God, than our heart, and perceiveth all things.
Pois, se o nosso coração [nos] condena, maior é Deus que o nosso coração, e conhece tudo.
21 Beloved! if our heart be not condemning us, boldness, have we, towards God;
Amados, se nosso coração não condena, temos confiança diante de Deus.
22 And, whatsoever we are asking, we are receiving from him, because, his commandments, are we keeping, and, the things that are pleasing before him, are we doing.
E qualquer coisa que pedirmos, dele receberemos; porque guardamos os seus mandamentos, e fazemos o que lhe agrada.
23 And, this, is his commandment, —that we should believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and be loving one another—just as he gave a commandment unto us.
E este é o seu mandamento: que creiamos no nome do seu Filho Jesus Cristo, e nos amemos uns aos outros, como ele nos mandou.
24 And, he that keepeth his commandments, in him, abideth, and, he, in him. And, hereby, perceive we, that he abideth in us, by reason of the Spirit which, unto us, he hath given.
E a pessoa que guarda os seus mandamentos está nele, e ele nela. E nisto sabemos que ele está em nós: pelo Espírito que ele nos deu.
