1 Corinthians 7
1 Now, concerning the things whereof ye wrote, it were, good, for a man, not to touch, a woman;
Was aber das betrifft, wovon ihr mir geschrieben habt, so ist es gut für einen Menschen, kein Weib zu berühren.
2 But, on account of fornications, let, each man, have, his own wife, and, each woman, have, her own husband:
Aber um der Hurerei willen habe ein jeder sein eigenes Weib, und eine jede habe ihren eigenen Mann.
3 Unto the wife, let the husband render what is her due, and, in like manner, the wife also, unto the husband, —
Der Mann leiste dem Weibe die eheliche Pflicht, gleicherweise aber auch das Weib dem Manne.
4 The wife, over her own body, hath not authority, but the husband, and, in like manner, the husband also, over his own body, hath not authority, but the wife.
Das Weib hat nicht Macht über ihren eigenen Leib, sondern der Mann; gleicherweise aber hat auch der Mann nicht Macht über seinen eigenen Leib, sondern das Weib.
5 Be not depriving one another—unless perhaps by consent for a season, that ye may have leisure for prayer, and, again, may be together, —lest Satan be tempting you by reason of your want of self-control.
Entziehet [O. Beraubet] euch einander nicht, es sei denn etwa nach Übereinkunft eine Zeitlang, auf daß ihr zum Beten Muße habet; [O. euch dem Gebet widmet] und kommet wieder zusammen, auf daß der Satan euch nicht versuche wegen eurer Unenthaltsamkeit.
6 This, however I am saying, by way of concession, not of injunction;
Dieses aber sage ich aus Nachsicht, nicht befehlsweise.
7 Besides, I desire all men to be, even as myself, —but, each one, hath his, personal, gift from God, one, after this manner, and, another, after that.
Ich wünsche aber, alle Menschen wären wie auch ich selbst; aber ein jeder hat seine eigene Gnadengabe von Gott, der eine so, der andere so.
8 But I say, to the unmarried, and to the widows, good, were it for them, that they should abide, even as I;
Ich sage aber den Unverheirateten und den Witwen: Es ist gut für sie, wenn sie bleiben wie auch ich.
9 But, if they have not self-control, let them marry, for, better, is it, to marry than to burn.
Wenn sie sich aber nicht enthalten können, so laßt sie heiraten, denn es ist besser zu heiraten, als Brunst zu leiden.
10 To the married, however, I give charge—not, I, but the Lord, —that, a wife, from her husband, do not depart, —
Den Verheirateten aber gebiete nicht ich, sondern der Herr, daß ein Weib nicht vom Manne geschieden werde,
11 But, if she should even depart, let her remain unmarried, or, to her husband, be reconciled; and let not, a husband, leave, his wife.
[wenn sie aber auch geschieden ist, so bleibe sie unverheiratet, oder versöhne sich mit dem Manne] und daß ein Mann sein Weib nicht entlasse.
12 But, unto the rest, say, I—not the Lord, —if, any brother, hath, a wife that believeth not, and, she, is well pleased to dwell with him, let him not leave her;
Den übrigen aber sage ich, nicht der Herr: Wenn ein Bruder ein ungläubiges Weib hat, und sie willigt ein, [Eig. stimmt mit bei; so auch v 13] bei ihm zu wohnen, so entlasse er sie nicht.
13 And, a woman who hath a husband that believeth not, and, he, is well pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave her husband; —
Und ein Weib, das einen ungläubigen Mann hat, und er willigt ein, bei ihr zu wohnen, so entlasse sie den Mann nicht.
14 For the husband that believeth not is hallowed in the wife, and the wife that believeth not is hallowed in the brother: else were, your children, impure, but, now, are they, pure.
Denn der ungläubige Mann ist geheiligt durch das [O. in dem] Weib, und das ungläubige Weib ist geheiligt durch den [O. in dem] Bruder; sonst wären ja eure Kinder unrein, nun aber sind sie heilig.
15 But, if, the unbelieving, departeth, let him depart: the brother or the sister hath not come into bondage, in such cases, but, in peace, hath God called us.
Wenn aber der Ungläubige sich trennt, so trenne er sich. Der Bruder oder die Schwester ist in solchen Fällen nicht gebunden; in Frieden aber hat uns Gott berufen.
16 For how knowest thou, O woman, whether, thy husband, thou shalt save? Or how knowest thou, O man, whether, thy wife, thou shalt save?
Denn was weißt du, Weib, ob du den Mann erretten wirst? Oder was weißt du, Mann, ob du das Weib erretten wirst?
17 If not—as the Lord hath distributed—unto each one, as God hath called, each one, so, let him be walking; —and, so, in all the assemblies, I ordain.
Doch wie der Herr einem jeden ausgeteilt hat, wie Gott einen jeden berufen hat, also wandle er; und also verordne ich in allen Versammlungen.
18 After being circumcised, was any called? let him not become uncircumcised; in uncircumcision, hath any been called? let him not be circumcised:
Ist jemand beschnitten berufen worden, so ziehe er keine Vorhaut; ist jemand in der Vorhaut berufen worden, so werde er nicht beschnitten.
19 The circumcision, is, nothing, and, the uncircumcision, is, nothing, —but keeping the commandments of God.
Die Beschneidung ist nichts, und die Vorhaut ist nichts, sondern das Halten der Gebote Gottes.
20 Each one, in the calling wherein he was called, in the same, let him abide:
Ein jeder bleibe in dem Beruf, in welchem er berufen worden ist.
21 A bond-servant, wast thou called? let it not cause thee concern; but, if thou canst even become, free, rather use it.
Bist du als Sklave berufen worden, so laß es dich nicht kümmern; wenn du aber auch frei werden kannst, so benutze es vielmehr.
22 For, he who in the Lord was called, being a bond-servant, is, a freed-man of the Lord: in like manner, he that was called being, a freeman, is Christ’s bond-servant: —
Denn der als Sklave im Herrn Berufene ist ein Freigelassener des Herrn; gleicherweise auch ist der als Freier Berufene ein Sklave Christi.
23 With a price, have ye been bought, —do not become bond-servants of men:
Ihr seid um einen Preis erkauft; werdet nicht der Menschen Sklaven.
24 Each one, wherein he was called, brethren, in the same, let him abide with God.
Ein jeder, worin er berufen worden ist, Brüder, darin bleibe er bei Gott.
25 But, concerning them who are virgin, injunction of the Lord, have I none; yet, a judgment, do I give, as one who hath obtained mercy from the Lord to be, faithful:
Was aber die Jungfrauen betrifft, so habe ich kein Gebot des Herrn; ich gebe aber eine Meinung, als vom Herrn begnadigt worden, treu [O. zuverlässig, vertrauenswürdig] zu sein.
26 I consider this, then, to be, good, in the circumstances, by reason of the existing distress, —that it is, good for a man, so, to be:
Ich meine nun, daß dies gut sei um der gegenwärtigen Not willen, daß es einem Menschen gut sei, also zu sein. [d. h. zu bleiben, wie er ist]
27 Hast thou become bound to a wife? do not seek to be loosed; hast thou become loosed from a wife? do not seek a wife.
Bist du an ein Weib gebunden, so suche nicht los zu werden; bist du frei von einem Weibe, so suche kein Weib.
28 If, however, thou shouldst even marry, thou hast not sinned; and, if one who is virgin should marry, that one hath not sinned; —but, tribulation of the flesh, shall, such, have: —howbeit, I, spare you.
Wenn du aber auch heiratest, so hast du nicht gesündigt; und wenn die Jungfrau heiratet, so hat sie nicht gesündigt; aber solche werden Trübsal im Fleische haben; ich aber schone euer.
29 But, this, I say—the opportunity is, contracted for what remaineth—in order that, they who have wives, may be, as though they had none,
Dieses aber sage ich, Brüder: Die Zeit ist gedrängt. [O. verkürzt] Übrigens daß [O. gedrängt, damit forthin] auch die, welche Weiber haben, seien, als hätten sie keine,
30 And, they who weep, as though they wept not, and, they who rejoice, as though they rejoiced not, and, they who buy, as though they possessed not,
und die Weinenden als nicht Weinende, und die sich Freuenden als sich nicht Freuende, und die Kaufenden als nicht Besitzende,
31 And, they who use the world, as though they used it not to the full, —for the fashion of this world passeth away;
und die der Welt Gebrauchenden als ihrer nicht als Eigentum [O. nach Gutdünken] Gebrauchende; denn die Gestalt dieser Welt vergeht.
32 And I desire you to be, without anxiety: —the unmarried man, is anxious for the things of the Lord, how he may please the Lord;
Ich will aber, daß ihr ohne Sorge seid. Der Unverheiratete ist für die Dinge des Herrn besorgt, wie er dem Herrn gefallen möge;
33 But, he that hath married, is anxious for the things of the world, how may please his wife—
der Verheiratete aber ist für die Dinge der Welt besorgt, wie er dem Weibe gefallen möge.
34 And he is divided; and, the unmarried woman, or the virgin, is anxious for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy [both] in her body and in her spirit; but, she that hath married, is anxious for the things of the world, how she may please her husband.
Es ist ein Unterschied zwischen dem Weibe und der Jungfrau. Die Unverheiratete ist für die Dinge des Herrn besorgt, auf daß sie heilig sei, sowohl an Leib als Geist; die Verheiratete aber ist für die Dinge der Welt besorgt, wie sie dem Manne gefallen möge.
35 This, however, with a view to your own profit, am I saying, —not that, a snare, upon you, I may cast, but with a view to what is comely, and devoted unto the Lord, without distraction.
Dies aber sage ich zu eurem eigenen Nutzen, nicht auf daß ich euch eine Schlinge überwerfe, sondern zur Wohlanständigkeit und zu ungeteiltem Anhangen an dem Herrn.
36 If however anyone considereth it behaving unseemly towards his virginity, if he should be beyond the bloom of life, —and, thus, it ought to come about, what he chooseth, let him do, —he sinneth not: let them marry:
Wenn aber jemand denkt, er handle ungeziemend mit seiner Jungfrauschaft, wenn er [O. Jungfrau, wenn sie] über die Jahre der Blüte hinausgeht, und es muß also geschehen, so tue er, was er will; er sündigt nicht: sie mögen heiraten.
37 But, he that standeth in his heart, steadfast, having no necessity, but hath authority concerning his own will, and, this, hath determined in his own heart, —to preserve his own virginity, well shall he do.
Wer aber im Herzen feststeht und keine Not, sondern Gewalt hat über seinen eigenen Willen und dies in seinem Herzen beschlossen hat, seine Jungfrauschaft [O. Jungfrau] zu bewahren, der tut wohl.
38 So that, he that giveth in marriage his own virginity, doeth, well; and, he that giveth it not, shall do, better.
Also, wer heiratet, [O. verheiratet] tut wohl, und wer nicht heiratet, [O. verheiratet] tut besser.
39 A wife, is bound for as long a time as her husband is living; but, if the husband have fallen asleep, she is, free, to be married unto whom she pleaseth, —only, in the Lord;
Ein Weib ist gebunden, so lange Zeit ihr Mann lebt; wenn aber der Mann entschlafen ist, so ist sie frei, sich zu verheiraten, an wen sie will, nur im Herrn.
40 But, happier, is she, if, so, she remain, —in my judgment; for I think, I also, have the Spirit of God.
Glückseliger ist sie aber, wenn sie also bleibt, nach meiner Meinung; ich denke aber, daß auch ich Gottes Geist habe.
