1 Corinthians 16

1 Now, concerning the collection which is for the saints, just as I directed the assemblies of Galatia, so, also do, ye: —

באשר לכסף שאתם אוספים למען המאמינים שמקדישים את כל זמנם לשירות האדון, הייתי רוצה מאוד שתנהגו כפי שביקשתי מהקהילה בגלטיא.

2 Upon the first of the week, let, each one of you, put, by itself, in store, as he may be prospering, —lest, as soon as I come, then, collections, should be in progress.

מדי שבת על כל איש להפריש תרומה מסוימת מהסכום שהרוויח באותו שבוע, כל אחד בהתאם למשכורתו. אל תחכו עד שאבוא אליכם, כדי שלא יהיה צורך לאסוף את הכסף בבואי.

3 And, as soon as I arrive, whomsoever ye shall approve by letters, these, will I send, to bear away your favour unto Jerusalem:

כשאבוא אליכם תבחרו שליחים נאמנים, ואני אשלח בידם את מתנתכם הנדיבה בצירוף מכתב לירושלים.

4 And, if it be meet that, I also, be journeying, with me, shall they journey.

אם אצטרך גם אני ללכת, נלך כולנו יחד.

5 Now I will come unto you, as soon as I have passed through Macedonia, —for I do pass through Macedonia,

אבוא לבקר אתכם לאחר ביקורי הקצר במקדוניה.

6 And, with you, I may perhaps sojourn, or winter, that, ye, may set me forward, whithersoever I may be journeying.

יתכן שאשאר אצלכם זמן מה, אולי אפילו למשך כל החורף. בתום ביקורי תוכלו ללוות אותי ליעד הבא במסעי.

7 For I do not wish to see you, just now, by the way; for I hope to remain, some time, with you, —if, the Lord, permit.

הפעם איני רוצה לערוך אצלכם ביקור חטוף בלבד ומיד להמשיך הלאה; אם ירצה השם, ברצוני להישאר איתכם זמן מה.

8 But I remain in Ephesus, until the Pentecost,

אשאר בְּאֶפֶסוֹס עד חג השבועות,

9 For, a door, unto me, hath opened, great and effectual, and, opposers, are many.

כי יש לי כאן הזדמנות טובה לבשר את הבשורה; הדלת פתוחה לרווחה והאפשרויות רבות, אך … גם האויבים רבים.

10 But, if Timothy should come, see that, without fear, he be with you, for, in the work of the Lord, doth he labour, even as, I:

אם טימותיוס יבוא אליכם, אנא, קבלוהו יפה ותנו לו להרגיש כמו בבית, שכן הוא עובד למען האדון, כמוני.

11 Let no one then despise him; and set ye him forward in peace, that he may come unto me, for I expect him with the brethren.

אל תניחו לאיש לבוז לו (בגלל גילו הצעיר), כי אני רוצה שייהנה מביקורו אצלכם. שילחוהו בשלום, כי אני מצפה לשובו יחד עם האחים האחרים.

12 But, concerning Apollos the brother, much, did I beseech him, that he would come unto you, with the brethren, but there was, by no means, any will, that he should come, now; —he will come, however, as soon as he hath good opportunity.

התחננתי לפני אפולוס שיבוא לבקר אתכם יחד עם האחים האחרים, אך הוא חשב כי אין זה רצון האלוהים שיבקר אתכם דווקא עתה. הוא הבטיח לבקר אתכם בהזדמנות הקרובה.

13 Be on the watch, stand firm in the faith, be men—be strong;

היזהרו מסכנות רוחניות, היו נאמנים לאדון, התעודדו והתחזקו,

14 Let, all your affairs, in love, be carried on.

ועשו כל דבר באהבה.

15 Now I beseech you, brethren, —ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is a first-fruit of Achaia, and, for the purpose of ministering, they devoted themselves, unto the saints—

האם אתם זוכרים את סטפנוס ובני־משפחתו? הם היו המאמינים הראשונים בכל יוון, והקדישו את חייהם לעזור למאמינים המשיחיים באשר הם ולשרתם.

16 That, ye also, be submitting yourselves unto such as these, —and unto everyone helping in the work and toiling.

לכן אני מבקש מכם לשמוע בקולם ולעזור להם כמיטב יכולתכם. עזרו גם לשאר המאמינים העובדים קשה כמוהם למען האדון, משום שהקדישו את חייהם לעבודה הנפלאה הזאת.

17 I Rejoice, moreover, in the presence of Stephanas, and Fortunatus, and Achaicus: because, your own shortcoming, these, have filled up: —

אני ממש מאושר שסטפנוס, פורטונטוס ואכיקוס באו לבקר כאן, כי הם מילאו את מקומכם ועזרו לי בחסרונכם.

18 They have given rest, in fact, unto my spirit, and yours: hold in acknowledgment, therefore, such as these.

הם שימחו ועודדו אותי בצורה נפלאה, ואני בטוח שגם אתכם הם עודדו. אני מקווה שאתם מעריכים את עבודתם של אנשים נפלאים אלה.

19 The assemblies of Asia salute you: Aquila and Priscilla, with the assembly meeting at their house, salute you much in the Lord:

הקהילות כאן באסיה שולחות לכם דרישת שלום. עקילס, פריסקילה והמאמינים המתאספים בביתם מוסרים לכם דרישת שלום חמה מכל הלב.

20 All the brethren salute you: —Salute ye one another with a holy kiss.

כל החברים והידידים כאן ביקשו ממני למסור לכם דרישת שלום. כאשר אתם מתכנסים יחד, ברכו איש את רעהו לשלום בנשיקה קדושה.

21 The salutation of Paul—with my own hand.

את המילים האחרונות במכתב זה אני כותב בכתב ידי:

22 If anyone doth not dearly love the Lord, let him be anathema [that is, "accursed"]: Maran atha [that is, "The Lord, cometh"].

ארור מי שאינו אוהב את האדון! מָרַן אֲתָא – חזור במהרה, אדון ישוע!

23 The favour of the Lord Jesus, be with you.

חסדו של ישוע ואהבתו ינוחו עליכם.

24 My love, be with you all, in Christ Jesus.

אני שולח את אהבתי לכולכם, כי כולנו שייכים לישוע המשיח. – אמן.
