1 Corinthians 14
1 Pursue love; nevertheless be envious of the spiritual gifts, —and, rather, that ye may be prophesying.
ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ಮಾರ್ಗ ಅನುಸರಿಸಿರಿ, ಆತ್ಮಿಕ ವರಗಳನ್ನು, ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸುವ ವರವನ್ನು ಆಸಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸಿರಿ.
2 For, he that speaketh with a tongue, not unto men, doth speak, but, unto God, —for, no one, understandeth, although, in spirit, he is speaking sacred secrets;
ಅನ್ಯಭಾಷೆಗಳನ್ನು ಆಡುವವನು ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಸಂಗಡವಲ್ಲ, ದೇವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಅವನು ಮಾತನಾಡುವುದನ್ನು ಯಾರೂ ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವನು ಆತ್ಮದಲ್ಲಿ ರಹಸ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾತನಾಡುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
3 But, be that prophesieth, unto men, doth speak—edification, and exhortation, and comfort.
ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸುವವನಾದರೋ, ಜನರ ಭಕ್ತಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗಾಗಿ, ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಕ್ಕಾಗಿ, ಸಂತೈಸುವಿಕೆಗಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.
4 He that speaketh with a tongue, buildeth up, himself, whereas, he that prophesieth, buildeth up, an assembly.
ಅನ್ಯಭಾಷೆಗಳನ್ನಾಡುವವನು ತನಗೆ ಭಕ್ತಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನುಂಟುಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು. ಆದರೆ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸುವವನು ಸಭೆಗೆ ಭಕ್ತಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನುಂಟುಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾನೆ.
5 Howbeit I wish you all to speak with tongues, but, rather, that ye may prophesy, —moreover, greater, is he that prophesieth, than he that speaketh with tongues, —unless indeed he translate, that, the assembly, may receive upbuilding.
ನೀವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಅನ್ಯಭಾಷೆಗಳನ್ನಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಈಗ ನಾನು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸಿದರೂ, ಅದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ನೀವು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಅನ್ಯಭಾಷೆಗಳನ್ನಾಡುವವನು ಸಭೆಗೆ ಭಕ್ತಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗುವಂತೆ ಅದರ ಅರ್ಥವನ್ನು ಹೇಳದೆ ಹೋದರೆ, ಅವನಿಗಿಂತ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸುವವನೇ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠನು.
6 But, now, brethren—if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit, you, except I speak, unto you, either by way of revelation, or knowledge, or prophesying, or teaching?
ಹೀಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಪ್ರಿಯರೇ, ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಪ್ರಕಟನೆಯಿಂದಾಗಲಿ, ವಿದ್ಯೆಯಿಂದಾಗಲಿ, ಪ್ರವಾದನೆಯಿಂದಾಗಲಿ, ಉಪದೇಶದಿಂದಾಗಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡದೆ, ಅನ್ಯಭಾಷೆಗಳಿಂದ ಮಾತನಾಡುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ, ನನ್ನಿಂದ ನಿಮಗೇನು ಪ್ರಯೋಜನ?
7 In like manner, the things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, if, a distinction in the sounds, they do not give, how shall it be known, what is being piped or harped?
ಕೊಳಲು, ವೀಣೆ ಮೊದಲಾದ ನಿರ್ಜೀವ ವಾದ್ಯಗಳ ಸ್ವರಗಳ ಹಾಗೆ, ವಿವಿಧ ಶೃತಿಗಳು ಕಂಡುಬರದಿದ್ದರೆ, ಊದಿದ್ದು ಕೊಳಲೋ ಅಥವಾ ಬಾರಿಸಿದ್ದು ವೀಣೆಯೋ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಯುವುದು ಹೇಗೆ?
8 For, if also, an uncertain sound, a trumpet, should give, who shall prepare himself for battle?
ತುತೂರಿಯನ್ನು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿ ಊದದಿದ್ದರೆ, ಯಾರು ತಾನೇ ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಸನ್ನದ್ಧರಾಗುವರು?
9 So, also, ye, through means of the tongue, except ye give intelligible discourse, how shall it be known what is being spoken? for ye will be speaking, to the air.
ಅದರಂತೆಯೇ, ನೀವೂ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾದ ಭಾಷೆಯಿಂದ ಮಾತನಾಡದೆ ಹೋದರೆ, ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ್ದು ಏನೆಂದು ತಿಳಿಯುವುದು ಹೇಗೆ? ನೀವು ಗಾಳಿಯ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಹಾಗಿರುವುದಷ್ಟೆ.
10 There may happen to be so many kinds of languages in the world, and, not one, unspoken: —
ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಷ್ಟು ವಿಧವಾದ ಭಾಷೆಗಳಿದ್ದರೂ, ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದಾದರೂ ಅರ್ಥರಹಿತವಾದುದಲ್ಲ.
11 If, then, I do not know the meaning of the language, I shall be, unto him that is speaking, a foreigner, and, he that is speaking, shall be, in my case, a foreigner.
ನಾನು ಭಾಷೆಯ ಅರ್ಥವನ್ನು ಗ್ರಹಿಸದಿದ್ದರೆ, ಮಾತಾಡುವವನಿಗೆ ನಾನು ಅನ್ಯದೇಶದವನಂತಿರುವೆನು, ಮಾತನಾಡುವವನು ನನಗೆ ಅನ್ಯದೇಶದವನಂತಿರುವನು.
12 So, ye, also—since ye are, envious, of spirits, unto the upbuilding of the assembly, seek to be pre-eminent.
ಅದರಂತೆಯೇ, ನೀವು ಸಹ ಆತ್ಮಿಕ ವರಗಳನ್ನು ಬಯಸುವುದರಿಂದ, ಸಭೆಗೆ ಭಕ್ತಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಉಂಟುಮಾಡುವ ವರಗಳನ್ನೇ ಸಮೃದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಿರಿ.
13 Wherefore, he that speaketh with a tongue, let him pray that he may translate;
ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಅನ್ಯಭಾಷೆಗಳನ್ನಾಡುವವನು ತಾನಾಡುವ ಮಾತಿನ ಅರ್ಥವನ್ನು ಹೇಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಲಿ.
14 [For], if I am praying in a tongue, my spirit, is praying, but, my mind, is unfruitful.
ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಾನು ಅನ್ಯಭಾಷೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿದರೆ, ನನ್ನ ಆತ್ಮವು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸುವುದು. ಆದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಬುದ್ಧಿ ನಿಷ್ಫಲವಾಗಿರುವುದು.
15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, but I will pray also with the mind, —I will strike the strings with the spirit, [but] I will strike the strings also with the mind.
ಹಾಗಾದರೇನು? ನಾನು ಆತ್ಮದಿಂದ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸುವೆನು, ಬುದ್ಧಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸುವೆನು. ಆತ್ಮದಿಂದ ಹಾಡುವೆನು, ಬುದ್ಧಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ಹಾಡುವೆನು.
16 Else, if thou be blessing in a spirit, he that filleth up the place of the ungifted person, how shall he say the Amen upon thy thanksgiving? since indeed, what thou art saying, he knoweth not;
ನೀನು ಆತ್ಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತ್ರ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ, ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಕುಳಿತಿರುವವನು ನಿನ್ನ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತಾಸ್ತುತಿಗೆ, “ಆಮೆನ್” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವುದು ಹೇಗೆ?
17 For, thou, indeed, excellently art giving thanks, but, the other, is not being built up.
ನೀನು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತಾಸ್ತುತಿ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೀ ನಿಜವೇ. ಆದರೆ, ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನಿಗೆ ಭಕ್ತಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ.
18 I give thanks unto God!—More than ye all, am I speaking with tongues;
ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಅನ್ಯಭಾಷೆಗಳನ್ನಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆಂದು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ.
19 But, in assembly, I desire to speak five words with my mind, that, others also, I may instruct, than myriads of words in a tongue.
ಆದರೂ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅನ್ಯಭಾಷೆಗಳಿಂದ ಹತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ, ನನ್ನ ಬುದ್ಧಿಯಿಂದ ಐದೇ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನಾಡಿ, ಇತರರಿಗೆ ಉಪದೇಶ ಮಾಡುವುದನ್ನೇ ನಾನು ಇಷ್ಟಪಡುತ್ತೇನೆ.
20 Brethren! do not become children, in your understandings; but, in baseness, become babes, while, in your understandings, ye become, full-grown.
ಸಹೋದರರೇ, ಮಕ್ಕಳಂತೆ ಯೋಚಿಸುವುದನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಡಿರಿ. ಕೇಡಿನ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಶುಗಳಂತೆ ಇದ್ದರೂ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಯೋಚನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾಯಸ್ಥರಾಗಿರಿ.
21 In the law, it is written—With strange tongues, and with lips of strangers, will I speak unto this people; and, not even so, will they hearken unto me, —saith the Lord.
“ಬೇರೆಭಾಷೆಯವರ ಮೂಲಕವಾಗಿಯೂ ವಿದೇಶದವರ ತುಟಿಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ನಾನು ಈ ಜನರೊಡನೆ ಮಾತಾಡುವೆನು, ಆದರೂ ಅವರು ನನಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ಕರ್ತದೇವರು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ,” ಎಂದು ನಿಯಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದಿದೆ.
22 So that, the tongues, are for a sign—not unto them that believe, but, unto them that believe not; whereas, prophesying, is not for them that believe not, but, for them that believe.
ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಅನ್ಯಭಾಷೆಗಳನ್ನಾಡುವುದು ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಅಲ್ಲ, ಅವಿಶ್ವಾಸಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಸೂಚನೆಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸುವುದು ಅವಿಶ್ವಾಸಿಗಳಿಗಲ್ಲ, ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಸೂಚನೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.
23 If, then, the whole assembly come together with one consent, and, all, are speaking with tongues, —and there come in persons unskilled or unbelieving, will they not say that ye are raving?
ಆದಕಾರಣ ಸಭೆಯೆಲ್ಲವೂ ಕೂಡಿಬಂದಾಗ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಅನ್ಯಭಾಷೆಗಳನ್ನಾಡಿದರೆ, ಅಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳು ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಅವಿಶ್ವಾಸಿಗಳು ಒಳಗೆ ಬಂದು, ನೀವು ಹುಚ್ಚರೆಂದು ಹೇಳುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೇ?
24 But, if, all, be prophesying, —and there come in one who is unbelieving or unskilled, he is convicted by all, he is searched by all, the secrets of his heart, become manifest,
ಆದರೆ ನೀವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸುತ್ತಿರಲು, ಅವಿಶ್ವಾಸಿಯಾಗಲಿ, ಅನ್ವೇಷಕನಾಗಲಿ ಒಳಗೆ ಬಂದರೆ, ಅವನು ತಾನು ಪಾಪಿಯೆಂಬ ಮನವರಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದುವನು. ಅವನು ಎಲ್ಲರ ಮಾತಿನಿಂದ ಪರಿಶೋಧಿತನಾಗುವನು.
25 And, so, falling down upon his face, he will do homage unto God, reporting that, in reality, God is, among you.
ಅವನ ಹೃದಯದ ರಹಸ್ಯಗಳು ಬಯಲಾಗುವುವು. ಅವನು ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದು ದೇವರನ್ನು ಆರಾಧಿಸಿ, “ದೇವರು ನಿಜವಾಗಿಯೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ!” ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಕಟಪಡಿಸುವನು.
26 What, then, is it, brethren? Whensoever ye are coming together, each one, hath a psalm, hath a teaching, hath a revelation, hath a tongue, hath a translation: —let, all things, be done, unto building up.
ಹಾಗಾದರೇನು ಪ್ರಿಯರೇ? ನೀವು ಸಭೆಯಾಗಿ ಕೂಡಿಬರುವಾಗ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನಿಗೆ ಕೀರ್ತನೆಯಾಗಲಿ, ಸಂದೇಶವಾಗಲಿ, ಪ್ರಕಟನೆಯಾಗಲಿ, ಅನ್ಯಭಾಷೆಯನ್ನಾಡುವುದಾಗಲಿ, ಅನ್ಯಭಾಷೆಗಳ ಅರ್ಥವನ್ನು ಹೇಳುವ ವರವಾಗಲಿ ಇರುತ್ತದಷ್ಟೆ. ಇವೆಲ್ಲವೂ ಸಭೆಗೆ ಭಕ್ತಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗಾಗಿಯೇ ಇರಲಿ.
27 If, with a tongue, one is speaking, let it be by two, or, at the most, three, —and by turns; and let, one, be translating;
ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ಅನ್ಯಭಾಷೆಗಳನ್ನಾಡುವುದಾದರೆ, ಇಬ್ಬರು ಅಥವಾ ಹೆಚ್ಚೆಂದರೆ ಮೂವರು ಒಬ್ಬೊಬ್ಬರಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಬೇಕು, ಒಬ್ಬನು ಅರ್ಥವನ್ನು ಹೇಳಲಿ.
28 But, if there be none to translate, let him keep silence in assembly, and, unto himself, be speaking, and, unto God!
ಅರ್ಥವನ್ನು ಹೇಳುವವನಿಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ, ಅನ್ಯಭಾಷೆಗಳನ್ನಾಡುವವನು ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮೌನವಾಗಿರಲಿ. ಅವನು ತನ್ನೊಂದಿಗೂ ದೇವರೊಂದಿಗೂ ಮಾತನಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ.
29 Prophets, moreover, let two or three speak, and let, the others, judge.
ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳು ಇಬ್ಬರಾಗಲಿ, ಮೂವರಾಗಲಿ ಮಾತಾಡಲಿ, ಇತರರರು ವಿವೇಚನೆ ಮಾಡಲಿ.
30 If, however, unto another, a revelation be made, as he is sitting, let the first be silent;
ಕುಳಿತಿರುವ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನಿಗೆ ಏನಾದರೂ ಪ್ರಕಟನೆಯಾದರೆ, ಮೊದಲಿನವನು ಮೌನವಾಗಿರಲಿ.
31 For, one by one, ye can, all, be prophesying, —that, all, may learn, and, all, be encouraged.
ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಕಲಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆಯೂ, ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹ ಹೊಂದುವಂತೆಯೂ, ನೀವೆಲ್ಲರು ಒಬ್ಬೊಬ್ಬರಾಗಿ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸಿರಿ.
32 And, spirits of prophets, unto prophets, do submit themselves;
ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳ ಆತ್ಮಗಳು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳ ಸ್ವಾಧೀನದಲ್ಲಿವೆ.
33 For God is not [a God] of confusion, but, of peace: —as in all the assemblies of the saints.
ದೇವಜನರ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸಭೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿರುವಂತೆ, ದೇವರು ಗಲಿಬಿಲಿಯ ದೇವರಲ್ಲ, ಸಮಾಧಾನದ ದೇವರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
34 As for the women, in the assemblies, let them be silent, for it is not permitted them to be speaking; but let them be in submission, —even as, the law, saith.
ದೇವಜನರ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸಭೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿರುವಂತೆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರು ಸಭೆಯ ಕೂಟಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮೌನವಾಗಿರಲಿ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಲು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅನುಮತಿಯಿಲ್ಲ, ನಿಯಮವು ಸಹ ಹೇಳಿರುವಂತೆ ಅವರು ಅಧೀನರಾಗಿರಬೇಕು.
35 If, however, they are wishing to learn something, at home, their own husbands, let them question; for it is a shame for a woman to be speaking in assembly.
ಅವರು ಏನಾದರೂ ಕಲಿಯಬಯಸಿದರೆ, ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಗಂಡಂದಿರನ್ನು ಕೇಳಲಿ. ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರು ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುವುದು ನಾಚಿಕೆಪಡುವಂಥದಾಗಿದೆ.
36 Or, from you, did the word of God come forth? Or, unto you alone, did it extend?
ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವು ನಿಮ್ಮಿಂದ ಹೊರಟಿತೋ? ಅಥವಾ ಅದು ತಲುಪಿದ್ದು ನಿಮಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರವೋ?
37 If anyone thinketh himself to be a prophet, or spiritually gifted, let him acknowledge the things which I am writing to you, —that they are, a commandment, of the Lord.
ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯೆಂದಾಗಲಿ, ಆತ್ಮನ ವರಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊದಿದವನೆಂದಾಗಲಿ ಭಾವಿಸುವುದಾದರೆ, ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಬರೆದಿರುವ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳು ಕರ್ತದೇವರ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳೆಂದು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ.
38 But, if anyone knoweth not, he is unknown!
ಆದರೆ ಯಾರಾದರೂ ಇದನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕಸಿದರೆ, ಅವರೂ ತಿರಸ್ಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಗುರಿಯಾಗುವರು.
39 So, then, my brethren, —be zealous to prophesy, and do not forbid, to be speaking with tongues;
ಆದಕಾರಣ ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಿಯರೇ, ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸುವ ವರಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಆಸಕ್ತರಾಗಿರಿ. ಅನ್ಯಭಾಷೆಯನ್ನಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಡ್ಡಿಮಾಡಬೇಡಿರಿ.
40 But let, all things, with comeliness, and by arrangement, be done.
ಆದರೆ ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಯೋಗ್ಯವಾಗಿಯೂ ಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿಯೂ ಮಾಡಿರಿ.
