1 Chronicles 24

1 Now, the sons of Aaron, had their courses, —the sons of Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar;

کاهنان که از نسل هارون بودند در دو گروه به نامهای العازار و ایتامار (پسران هارون) خدمت می‌کردند. ناداب و ابیهو هم پسران هارون بودند، ولی قبل از پدر خود مردند و پسری نداشتند. پس فقط العازار و ایتامار باقی ماندند تا خدمت کاهنی را ادامه بدهند.

2 but Nadab and Abihu, died, before their father, and sons, had they none, —but Eleazar and Ithamar became priests;

3 and David apportioned to them courses, both to Zadok of the sons of Eleazar, and to Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, —by their appointed place in their service.

داوود با نظر صادوق (نمایندهٔ طایفهٔ العازار) و اخیملک (نمایندهٔ طایفهٔ ایتامار)، نسل هارون را برحسب وظایف ایشان به چند گروه تقسیم کرد.

4 But the sons of Eleazar were found to be more numerous, by the chiefs of their able men, than were the sons of Ithamar, so they divided them, —the sons of Eleazar, had chiefs, of the ancestral house, sixteen, whereas, the sons of Ithamar, had of their ancestral house, eight.

نسل العازار شانزده گروه بودند و نسل ایتامار هشت گروه، زیرا تعداد مردان رهبر در نسل العازار بیشتر بود.

5 They divided them, therefore, by [casting] lots, these with those, —for there were princes of the sanctuary, and princes of God, from among the sons of Eleazar, and among the sons of Ithamar.

هم در نسل العازار و هم در نسل ایتامار مقامات بلند پایهٔ روحانی بودند؛ بنابراین برای اینکه تبعیض پیش نیاید، قرار شد به قید قرعه وظایف هر گروه تعیین شود.

6 And Shemaiah son of Nethanel the scribe from among the Levites, wrote them down, before the king and the rulers and Zadok the priest, and Ahimelech son of Abiathar, and the ancestral chiefs, pertaining to the priests and to the Levites, —one ancestral house, was taken for Eleazar, and, was equally taken, for Ithamar.

نسل العازار و ایتامار به نوبه قرعه کشیدند. سپس شمعیای لاوی، پسر نتن‌ئیل، که کاتب بود در حضور پادشاه، صادوق کاهن، اخیملک پسر اَبیّاتار، و سران کاهنان و لاویان اسامی و وظایف ایشان را نوشت.

7 So then the first lot came forth for Jehoiarib, for Jedaiah, the second;

بیست و چهار گروه به حکم قرعه به ترتیب زیر تعیین شدند: ۱ یهویاریب؛ ۲ یدعیا؛ ۳ حاریم؛ ۴ سعوریم؛ ۵ ملکیه؛ ۶ میامین؛ ۷ هقوص؛ ۸ ابیا؛ ۹ یشوع؛ ۱۰ شکنیا؛ ۱۱ الیاشیب؛ ۱۲ یاقیم؛ ۱۳ حفه؛ ۱۴ یشب‌آب؛ ۱۵ بلجه؛ ۱۶ امیر؛ ۱۷ حیزیر؛ ۱۸ هفصیص؛ ۱۹ فتحیا؛ ۲۰ یحزقی‌ئیل؛ ۲۱ یاکین؛ ۲۲ جامول؛ ۲۳ دلایا؛ ۲۴ معزیا.

8 for Harim, the third, for Seorim, the fourth;

9 for Malchijah, the fifth, for Mijamin, the sixth;

10 for Hakkoz, the seventh, for Abijah, the eighth;

11 for Jeshua, the ninth, for Shecaniah, the tenth;

12 for Eliashib, the eleventh, for Jakim, the twelfth;

13 for Huppah, the thirteenth, for Jeshebeab, the fourteenth;

14 for Bilgah, the fifteenth, for Immer, the sixteenth;

15 for Hezir, the seventeenth, for Happizzez, the eighteenth;

16 for Pethahiah, the nineteenth, for Jehezkel, the twentieth;

17 for Jachin, the twenty-first, for Gamul, the twenty-second;

18 for Delaiah, the twenty-third, for Maaziah, the twenty-fourth.

19 These, were their appointed places for their service, for entering the house of Yahweh, according to the regulation of them, by the hand of Aaron their father, —just as Yahweh God of Israel, commanded him.

هر یک از این گروه‌ها وظایف خانهٔ خداوند را که در ابتدا خداوند به‌وسیلۀ جد آنها هارون تعیین فرموده بود، انجام می‌دادند.

20 Now, as for the sons of Levi who remained, of the sons of Amram, Shubael, of the sons of Shubael, Jehdeiah.

از بقیهٔ نسل لاوی اینها رئیس خاندان بودند: از نسل عمرام، شبوئیل؛ از نسل شبوئیل، یحدیا؛

21 Of Rehabiah, of the sons of Rehabiah, the chief Isshiah;

از نسل رحبیا، یشیا؛

22 of the Izharites, Shelomoth, —of the sons of Shelomoth, Jahath;

از نسل یصهار، شلوموت؛ از نسل شلوموت، یحت.

23 and, the sons [of Hebron], Jeriah, —Amariah, the second, Jehaziel, the third, Jekameam, the fourth;

پسران حبرون عبارت بودند از: یریا، امریا، یحزی‌ئیل و یقمعام.

24 the sons of Uzziel, Micah, of the sons of Micah, Shamir;

از نسل عزی‌ئیل، میکا؛ از نسل میکا، شامیر؛ از نسل یشیا (برادر میکا)، زکریا.

25 the brother of Micah, Isshiah, of the sons of Isshiah, Zechariah.

26 The sons of Merari, Mahli and Mushi, —the sons of Jaaziah, Beno;

از نسل مراری، محلی و موشی و یعزیا؛ از نسل یعزیا، بنو و شوهم و زکور و عبری؛

27 the sons of Merari, of Jaaziah, Beno, and Shoham and Zaccur and Ibri:

28 of Mahli, Eleazar, who had no sons;

از نسل محلی، العازار (که پسری نداشت)

29 of Kish—the sons of Kish, Jerameel;

و قیس؛ از نسل قیس، یرحم‌ئیل؛

30 and, the sons of Mushi, Mahli and Eder and Jerimoth. These, were the sons of the Levites, belonging to their ancestral house.

از نسل موشی، محلی و عادر و یریموت. این افراد از خاندانهای لاوی بودند.

31 Moreover, they also, cast lots along with their brethren the sons of Aaron, before David the king and Zadok and Ahimelech, and the ancestral chiefs, pertaining to the priests and to the Levites, the ancestral chief along with his younger brethren.

وظایف آنها هم مثل فرزندان هارون بدون در نظر گرفتن سن و مقامشان به قید قرعه تعیین گردید. این عمل در حضور داوود پادشاه، صادوق، اخیملک، و رهبران کاهنان و لاویان انجام شد.
