Psalms 83

1 A Song, a Psalm of Asaph. O God, keep not thou silence: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.

Oh ʼElohim, no permanezcas en silencio. Oh ʼElohim, no calles, no estés imperturbable.

2 For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.

Pues [mira que] rugen tus enemigos, Y los que te aborrecen levantan la cabeza.

3 They take crafty counsel against thy people, and consult together against thy hidden ones.

Astutamente consultaron contra tu pueblo. Conspiran contra tus protegidos.

4 They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.

Dijeron: Vengan. Destruyámoslos para que no sean nación. Que no haya más memoria del nombre de Israel.

5 For they have consulted together with one consent; against thee do they make a covenant:

Porque con consentimiento conspiraron juntos. Contra Ti hacen un pacto:

6 The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab, and the Hagarenes;

Las tiendas de Edom y los ismaelitas, Moab y los agarenos,

7 Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre:

Gebal, Amón y Amalec, Filistea con los habitantes de Tiro,

8 Assyria also is joined with them; they have holpen the children of Lot. (Selah)

También Asiria se unió a ellos. Sirven de brazo a los hijos de Lot. (Selah)

9 Do thou unto them as unto Midian; as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the river Kishon:

Haz con ellos como con Madián, Como con Sísara, Como con Jabín en el torrente de Cisón,

10 Which perished at En-dor; they became as dung for the earth.

Que fueron destruidos en Endor Y fueron como abono para la tierra.

11 Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb; yea, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna:

Haz a sus nobles como a Oreb y a Zeeb, Y a todos sus jefes como a Zeba y Zalmuna,

12 Who said, Let us take to ourselves in possession the habitations of God.

Porque dijeron: Tomemos como posesión nuestra los prados de ʼElohim.

13 O my God, make them like the whirling dust; as stubble before the wind.

Oh ʼElohim mío, conviértelos como un remolino de polvo, Como hojarasca ante el viento,

14 As the fire that burneth the forest, and as the flame that setteth the mountains on fire;

Como fuego que consume el bosque, Como una llama incendia las montañas.

15 So pursue them with thy tempest, and terrify them with thy storm.

Persíguelos así con tu tempestad Y aterrorízalos con tu tormenta.

16 Fill their faces with confusion; that they may seek thy name, O LORD.

Llena sus caras de deshonra, Para que busquen tu Nombre, oh Yavé.

17 Let them be ashamed and dismayed for ever; yea, let them be confounded and perish:

Sean avergonzados y turbados para siempre. Sean humillados y perezcan,

18 That they may know that thou alone, whose name is JEHOVAH, art the Most High over all the earth.

Y sepan que solo Tú, tu Nombre es Yavé. Eres el ʼElyón sobre toda la tierra.
