Psalms 80

1 For the Chief Musician; set to Shoshannim Eduth. A Psalm of Asaph. Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that sittest upon the cherubim, shine forth.

聖歌隊の指揮者によってゆりの花のしらべにあわせてうたわせたアサフのあかしの歌 イスラエルの牧者よ、羊の群れのようにヨセフを導かれる者よ、耳を傾けてください。ケルビムの上に座せられる者よ、光を放ってください。

2 Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh, stir up thy might, and come to save us.

エフライム、ベニヤミン、マナセの前にあなたの力を振り起し、来て、われらをお救いください。

3 Turn us again, O God; and cause thy face to shine, and we shall be saved.

神よ、われらをもとに返し、み顔の光を照してください。そうすればわれらは救をえるでしょう。

4 O LORD God of hosts, how long wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy people?

万軍の神、主よ、いつまで、その民の祈にむかってお怒りになるのですか。

5 Thou hast fed them with the bread of tears, and given them tears to drink in large measure.

あなたは涙のパンを彼らに食わせ、多くの涙を彼らに飲ませられました。

6 Thou makest us a strife unto our neighbours: and our enemies laugh among themselves.

あなたはわれらを隣り人のあざけりとし、われらの敵はたがいにあざわらいました。

7 Turn us again, O God of hosts; and cause thy face to shine, and we shall be saved.

万軍の神よ、われらをもとに返し、われらの救われるため、み顔の光を照してください。

8 Thou broughtest a vine out of Egypt: thou didst drive out the nations, and plantedst it.

あなたは、ぶどうの木をエジプトから携え出し、もろもろの国民を追い出して、これを植えられました。

9 Thou preparedst [room] before it, and it took deep root, and filled the land.

あなたはこれがために地を開かれたので、深く根ざして、国にはびこりました。

10 The mountains were covered with the shadow of it, and the boughs thereof were [like] cedars of God.

山々はその影でおおわれ、神の香柏はその枝でおおわれました。

11 She sent out her branches unto the sea, and her shoots unto the River.

これはその枝を海にまでのべ、その若枝を大川にまでのべました。

12 Why hast thou broken down her fences, so that all they which pass by the way do pluck her?

あなたは何ゆえ、そのかきをくずして道ゆくすべての人にその実を摘み取らせられるのですか。

13 The boar out of the wood doth ravage it, and the wild beasts of the field feed on it.

林のいのししはこれを荒し、野のすべての獣はこれを食べます。

14 Turn again, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine,

万軍の神よ、再び天から見おろして、このぶどうの木をかえりみてください。

15 And the stock which thy right hand hath planted, and the branch that thou madest strong for thyself.

あなたの右の手の植えられた幹と、みずからのために強くされた枝とをかえりみてください。

16 It is burned with fire, it is cut down: they perish at the rebuke of thy countenance.

彼らは火をもってこれを焼き、これを切り倒しました。彼らをみ顔のとがめによって滅ぼしてください。

17 Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself.

しかしあなたの手をその右の手の人の上におき、みずからのために強くされた人の子の上においてください。

18 So shall we not go back from thee: quicken thou us, and we will call upon thy name,

そうすれば、われらはあなたを離れ退くことはありません。われらを生かしてください。われらはあなたのみ名を呼びます。

19 Turn us again, O LORD God of hosts; cause thy face to shine, and we shall be saved.

万軍の神、主よ、われらをもとに返し、み顔の光を照してください。そうすればわれらは救をえるでしょう。
