Psalms 59
1 For the Chief Musician; [set to] Al-tashheth. [A Psalm] of David: Michtam: when Saul sent, and they watched the house to kill him. Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God: set me on high from them that rise up against me.
Dem Musikmeister, “verdirb nicht!” Von David, ein Mikhtam, als Saul hinsandte, und sie das Haus bewachten, um ihn zu töten. Errette mich, mein Gott, von meinen Feinden, stelle mich auf eine Höhe, wo ich sicher bin vor meinen Widersachern.
2 Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from the bloodthirsty men.
Errette mich von den Übelthätern und hilf mir gegen die Blutgierigen.
3 For, lo, they lie in wait for my soul; the mighty gather themselves together against me: not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O LORD.
Denn fürwahr, sie lauern mir auf; Starke rotten sich wider mich zusammen, ohne daß ich mich vergangen und ohne daß ich gesündigt habe, Jahwe.
4 They run and prepare themselves without [my] fault: awake thou to help me, and behold.
Ohne Verschuldung von meiner Seite rennen sie an und stellen sich bereit: Wache auf, mir entgegen, und sieh zu!
5 Even thou, O LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel, arise to visit all the heathen: be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. (Selah)
Und du, Jahwe, Gott der Heerscharen, du Gott Israels, werde wach, um alle Heiden heimzusuchen; begnadige keinen der frevelhaften Verräter! (Sela)
6 They return at evening, they make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city.
Alle Abende kehren sie wieder, heulen wie die Hunde und umkreisen die Stadt.
7 Behold, they belch out with their mouth; swords are in their lips: for who, [say they], doth hear?
Fürwahr, sie geifern mit ihrem Munde, Schwerter sind auf ihren Lippen, denn - “wer hört es?”
8 But thou, O LORD, shalt laugh at them; thou shalt have all the heathen in derision.
Aber du, Jahwe, lachst über sie, du spottest aller Heiden.
9 O my strength, I will wait upon thee: for God is my high tower.
Meine Stärke, von dir will ich singen, denn Gott ist meine Burg.
10 The God of my mercy shall prevent me: God shall let me see [my desire] upon mine enemies.
Mein Gott wird mir mit seiner Gnade entgegenkommen; Gott wird mich an meinen Feinden meine Lust sehen lassen.
11 Slay them not, lest my people forget: scatter them by thy power, and bring them down, O Lord our shield.
Töte sie nicht, damit es mein Volk nicht vergesse. Laß sie umherirren durch deine Macht und stürze sie, Herr, unser Schild!
12 [For] the sin of their mouth, [and] the words of their lips, let them even be taken in their pride, and for cursing and lying which they speak.
Es fälle sie die Sünde ihres Mundes, das Wort ihrer Lippen. Mögen sie sich fangen in ihrem Hochmut und wegen der Flüche und Lügen, die sie reden.
13 Consume them in wrath, consume them, that they be no more: and let them know that God ruleth in Jacob, unto the ends of the earth. (Selah)
Vertilge sie im Grimme, vertilge, daß sie nicht mehr seien, damit man inne werde, daß Gott über Jakob herrscht, bis an die Enden der Erde! (Sela)
14 And at evening let them return, let them make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city.
Und alle Abende kehren sie wieder, heulen wie die Hunde und umkreisen die Stadt.
15 They shall wander up and down for meat and tarry all night if they be not satisfied.
Sie irren umher nach Fraß; wenn sie nicht satt werden, so murren sie.
16 But I will sing of thy strength; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my high tower, and a refuge in the day of my distress.
Ich aber will von deiner Stärke singen und alle Morgen über deine Gnade jubeln. Denn du warst mir eine Burg und eine Zuflucht in der Zeit meiner Not.
17 Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing praises: for God is my high tower, the God of my mercy.
Meine Stärke, von dir will ich singen, denn Gott ist meine Burg, mein gnädiger Gott!
