Psalms 36
1 For the Chief Musician. [A Psalm] of David the servant of the LORD. The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, There is no fear of God before his eyes.
Per il Capo de’ musici. Di Davide, servo dell’Eterno. L’iniquità parla all’empio nell’intimo del suo cuore; non c’è timor di Dio davanti ai suoi occhi.
2 For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, that his iniquity shall not be found out and be hated.
Essa lo lusinga che la sua empietà non sarà scoperta né presa in odio.
3 The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise [and] to do good.
Le parole della sua bocca sono iniquità e frode; egli ha cessato d’esser savio e di fare il bene.
4 He deviseth iniquity upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil.
Egli medita iniquità sopra il suo letto; si tiene nella via che non è buona; non aborre il male.
5 Thy lovingkindness, O LORD, is in the heavens; thy faithfulness [reacheth] unto the skies.
O Eterno, la tua benignità va fino al cielo, e la tua fedeltà fino alle nuvole.
6 Thy righteousness is like the mountains of God; thy judgments are a great deep: O LORD, thou preservest man and beast.
La tua giustizia è come le montagne di Dio, i tuoi giudizi sono un grande abisso. O Eterno, tu conservi uomini e bestie.
7 How precious is thy lovingkindness, O God! and the children of men take refuge under the shadow of thy wings.
O Dio, com’è preziosa la tua benignità! Perciò i figliuoli degli uomini si rifugiano all’ombra delle tue ali,
8 They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.
son saziati dell’abbondanza della tua casa, e tu li abbeveri al torrente delle tue delizie.
9 For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.
Poiché in te è la fonte della vita, e per la tua luce noi vediamo la luce.
10 O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.
Continua la tua benignità verso di quelli che ti conoscono, e la tua giustizia verso i retti di cuore.
11 Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked drive me away.
Non mi venga sopra il piè del superbo, e la mano degli empi non mi metta in fuga.
12 There are the workers of iniquity fallen: they are thrust down, and shall not be able to rise.
Ecco là, gli operatori d’iniquità sono caduti; sono atterrati, e non possono risorgere.
