Psalms 27
1 [A Psalm] of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
«Ψαλμός του Δαβίδ.» Ο Κύριος είναι φως μου και σωτηρία μου· τίνα θέλω φοβηθή; ο Κύριος είναι δύναμις της ζωής μου· από τίνος θέλω δειλιάσει;
2 When evil-doers came upon me to eat up my flesh, [even] mine adversaries and my foes, they stumbled and fell.
Ότε επλησίασαν επ' εμέ οι πονηρευόμενοι, διά να καταφάγωσι την σάρκα μου, οι αντίδικοι και οι εχθροί μου, αυτοί προσέκρουσαν και έπεσον.
3 Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, even then will I be confident.
Και αν παραταχθή εναντίον μου στράτευμα, η καρδία μου δεν θέλει φοβηθή· και αν πόλεμος σηκωθή επ' εμέ, και τότε θέλω ελπίζει.
4 One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple.
Εν εζήτησα παρά του Κυρίου, τούτο θέλω εκζητεί· το να κατοικώ εν τω οίκω του Κυρίου πάσας τας ημέρας της ζωής μου, να θεωρώ το κάλλος του Κυρίου και να επισκέπτωμαι τον ναόν αυτού.
5 For in the day of trouble he shall keep me secretly in his pavilion: in the covert of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall lift me up upon a rock.
Διότι εν ημέρα συμφοράς θέλει με κρύψει εν τη σκηνή αυτού· Θέλει με κρύψει εν τω αποκρύφω της σκηνής αυτού· θέλει με υψώσει επί βράχον·
6 And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me; and I will offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.
και ήδη η κεφαλή μου θέλει υψωθή υπεράνω των εχθρών μου των περικυκλούντων με· και θέλω θυσιάσει εν τη σκηνή αυτού θυσίας αλαλαγμού· θέλω υμνεί και θέλω ψαλμωδεί εις τον Κύριον.
7 Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
Άκουσον, Κύριε, της φωνής μου, όταν κράζω· και ελέησόν με και εισάκουσόν μου.
8 [When thou saidst], Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek.
Ζητήσατε το πρόσωπόν μου, είπε περί σου η καρδία μου. Το πρόσωπόν σου, Κύριε, θέλω ζητήσει.
9 Hide not thy face from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; cast me not off, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.
Μη κρύψης απ' εμού το πρόσωπόν σου· μη απορρίψης εν οργή τον δούλον σου· συ εστάθης βοήθειά μου· μη με αφήσης και μη με εγκαταλείψης, Θεέ της σωτηρίας μου.
10 For my father and my mother have forsaken me, but the LORD will take me up.
Και αν ο πατήρ μου και η μήτηρ μου με εγκαταλείψωσιν, ο Κύριος όμως θέλει με προσδεχθή.
11 Teach me thy way, O LORD; and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.
Δίδαξόν με, Κύριε, την οδόν σου και οδήγησόν με εν οδώ ευθεία ένεκεν των εχθρών μου.
12 Deliver me not over unto the will of mine adversaries: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.
Μη με παραδώσης εις την επιθυμίαν των εχθρών μου· διότι ηγέρθησαν κατ' εμού μάρτυρες ψευδείς και πνέοντες αδικίαν.
13 [I had fainted], unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
Ουαί εάν δεν επίστευον να ίδω τα αγαθά του Κυρίου εν γη ζώντων.
14 Wait on the LORD: be strong, and let thine heart take courage; yea, wait thou on the LORD.
Πρόσμενε τον Κύριον· ανδρίζου, και ας κραταιωθή η καρδία σου· και πρόσμενε τον Κύριον.
