Psalms 15

1 A Psalm of David. LORD, who shall sojourn in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

Ein Psalm Davids. Jahwe, wer darf Gast sein in deinem Zelte, wer darf wohnen auf deinem heiligen Berge?

2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh truth in his heart.

Wer unsträflich wandelt und recht thut von von Herzen Wahrheit redet,

3 He that slandereth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his friend, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.

auf seiner Zunge nicht Verleumdung hegt, einem andern nichts Böses zufügt und nicht Schmach auf seinen Nächsten lädt;

4 In whose eyes a reprobate is despised; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.

dem der von Gott Verworfene als verächtlich gilt, der aber die, die Jahwe fürchten, in Ehren hält, der, wann er zu seinem Schaden geschworen hat, es doch nicht abändert;

5 He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.

der sein Geld nicht um Zins giebt und nicht Bestechung gegen den Unschuldigen annimmt - wer so handelt, wird nimmermehr wanken!
