Psalms 124

1 A Song of Ascents; of David. If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, let Israel now say;

David kah Tangtlaeng Laa Israel loh, “Mamih ham BOEIPA te om pawt koinih,” ti laeh saeh.

2 If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us:

Hlang loh mamih taengah a tlai vaengah mamih ham BOEIPA om pawt koinih;

3 Then they had swallowed us up alive, when their wrath was kindled against us:

Mamih taengah a thintoek neh a sai vaengah mamih he a hingsai n'dolh uh ni.

4 Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:

Tui loh mamih n'yo vetih soklong loh mamih hinglu he a kawt pawn ni.

5 Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.

Lungpok tui loh mamih kah hinglu a et ni.

6 Blessed be the LORD, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.

Amih no dongah maeh la mamih aka tloeng pawh BOEIPA te a yoethen pai saeh.

7 Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.

Mamih kah hinglu tah vaa bangla pael neh a hlaeh khui lamloh loeih. Pael te rhek tih mamih n'loeih uh.

8 Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
