Psalms 122

1 A Song of Ascents; of David. I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go unto the house of the LORD.

Une chanson d'ascension. Par David. Je me suis réjoui quand ils m'ont dit, « Allons à la maison de Yahvé! »

2 Our feet are standing within thy gates, O Jerusalem;

Nos pieds se tiennent dans tes portes, Jérusalem!

3 Jerusalem, that art builded as a city that is compact together:

Jérusalem est construite comme une ville compacte,

4 Whither the tribes go up, even the tribes of the LORD [for] a testimony unto Israel, to give thanks into the name of the LORD.

où les tribus montent, même les tribus de Yahvé, selon une ordonnance pour Israël, pour rendre grâce au nom de Yahvé.

5 For there are set thrones for judgment, the thrones of the house of David.

Car il y a des trônes pour le jugement, les trônes de la maison de David.

6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.

Priez pour la paix de Jérusalem. Ceux qui t'aiment prospéreront.

7 Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.

Que la paix soit dans vos murs, et la prospérité dans vos palais.

8 For my brethren and companions’ sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee.

Pour l'amour de mes frères et de mes compagnons, Je vais maintenant dire, « La paix soit en vous. »

9 For the sake of the house of the LORD our God I will seek thy good.

Pour l'amour de la maison de Yahvé notre Dieu, Je chercherai votre bien.
