Psalms 10
1 Why standest thou afar off, O LORD? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble?
主よ、なにゆえ遠く離れて立たれるのですか。なにゆえ悩みの時に身を隠されるのですか。
2 In the pride of the wicked the poor is hotly pursued; let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.
悪しき者は高ぶって貧しい者を激しく責めます。どうぞ彼らがその企てたはかりごとにみずから捕えられますように。
3 For the wicked boasteth of his heart’s desire, and the covetous renounceth, [yea], contemneth the LORD.
悪しき者は自分の心の願いを誇り、むさぼる者は主をのろい、かつ捨てる。
4 The wicked, in the pride of his countenance, [saith], He will not require [it]. All his thoughts are, There is no God.
悪しき者は誇り顔をして、神を求めない。その思いに、すべて「神はない」という。
5 His ways are firm at all times; thy judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his adversaries, he puffeth at them.
彼の道は常に栄え、あなたのさばきは彼を離れて高く、彼はそのすべてのあだを口先で吹く。
6 He saith in his heart, I shall not be moved: to all generations I shall not be in adversity.
彼は心の内に言う、「わたしは動かされることはなく、世々わざわいにあうことがない」と。
7 His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and oppression: under his tongue is mischief and iniquity.
その口はのろいと、欺きと、しえたげとに満ち、その舌の下には害毒と不正とがある。
8 He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages: in the covert places doth he murder the innocent: his eyes are privily set against the helpless.
彼は村里の隠れ場におり、忍びやかな所で罪のない者を殺す。その目は寄るべなき者をうかがい、
9 He lurketh in the covert as a lion in his den: he lieth in wait to catch the poor: he doth catch the poor, when he draweth him in his net.
隠れ場にひそむししのように、ひそかに待ち伏せする。彼は貧しい者を捕えようと待ち伏せし、貧しい者を網にひきいれて捕える。
10 He croucheth, he boweth down, and the helpless fall by his strong ones.
寄るべなき者は彼の力によって打ちくじかれ、衰え、倒れる。
11 He saith in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see it.
彼は心のうちに言う、「神は忘れた、神はその顔を隠した、神は絶えて見ることはなかろう」と。
12 Arise, O LORD; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the poor.
主よ、立ちあがってください。神よ、み手をあげてください。苦しむ者を忘れないでください。
13 Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God, and say in his heart, Thou wilt not require [it]?
なにゆえ、悪しき者は神を侮り、心のうちに「あなたはとがめることをしない」と言うのですか。
14 Thon hast seen [it]; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to take it into thy hand: the helpless committeth [himself] unto thee; thou hast been the helper of the fatherless.
あなたはみそなわし、悩みと苦しみとを見て、それをみ手に取られます。寄るべなき者はあなたに身をゆだねるのです。あなたはいつもみなしごを助けられました。
15 Break thou the arm of the wicked; and as for the evil man, seek out his wickedness till thou find none.
悪しき者と悪を行う者の腕を折り、その悪を一つも残さないまでに探り出してください。
16 The LORD is King for ever and ever: the nations are perished out of his land.
主はとこしえに王でいらせられる。もろもろの国民は滅びて主の国から跡を断つでしょう。
17 LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the meek: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:
主よ、あなたは柔和な者の願いを聞き、その心を強くし、耳を傾けて、
18 To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that man which is of the earth may be terrible no more.
みなしごと、しえたげられる者とのためにさばきを行われます。地に属する人は再び人を脅かすことはないでしょう。
