Psalms 1

1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the wicked, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

Wohl dem, der nicht wandelt im Rat der Gottlosen und nicht tritt auf den Weg der Sünder, noch sitzt im Kreise der Spötter,

2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

vielmehr Gefallen hat am Gesetz des HERRN und sinnt über sein Gesetz bei Tag und bei Nacht!

3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the streams of water, that bringeth forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also doth not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Der gleicht einem Baum, gepflanzt an Wasserbächen, der seine Früchte bringt zu rechter Zeit und dessen Laub nicht welkt; und alles, was er beginnt, das gelingt.

4 The wicked are not so; but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

Nicht also die Gottlosen: nein, sie gleichen der Spreu, die der Wind verweht.

5 Therefore the wicked shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

Darum werden die Gottlosen nicht im Gericht bestehn und die Sünder nicht in der Gemeinde der Gerechten.

6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the wicked shall perish.

Denn es kennt der HERR den Weg der Gerechten; doch der Gottlosen Weg führt ins Verderben.
