Proverbs 2

1 My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and lay up my commandments with thee;

Сине мој, ако примиш речи моје, и заповести моје сахраниш код себе,

2 So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;

Да пази ухо твоје на мудрост, и пригнеш срце своје к разуму,

3 Yea, if thou cry after discernment, and lift up thy voice for understanding;

Ако призовеш мудрост, и к разуму подигнеш глас свој,

4 If thou seek her as silver, and search for her as for hid treasures;

Ако га устражиш као сребро, и као сакривено благо ако добро устражиш;

5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.

Тада ћеш разумети страх Господњи, и познање Божије наћи ћеш.

6 For the LORD giveth wisdom; out of his mouth [cometh] knowledge and understanding:

Јер Господ даје мудрост, из Његових уста долази знање и разум.

7 He layeth up sound wisdom for the upright, [he is] a shield to them that walk in integrity;

Чува правима шта доиста јесте, штит је онима који ходе у безазлености,

8 That he may guard the paths of judgment, and preserve the way of his saints.

Да би се држали стаза правих, а Он чува пут светаца својих.

9 Then shalt thou understand righteousness and judgment, and equity, [yea], every good path.

Тада ћеш разумети правду и суд и шта је право, и сваки добри пут.

10 For wisdom shall enter into thine heart, and knowledge shall be pleasant unto thy soul;

Кад дође мудрост у срце твоје, и знање омили души твојој,

11 Discretion shall watch over thee, understanding shall keep thee:

Помњивост ће пазити на те, разум ће те чувати,

12 To deliver thee from the way of evil, from the men that speak froward things;

Избављајући те од зла пута, од људи који говоре опаке ствари,

13 Who forsake the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;

Који остављају праве путе да иду путевима мрачним,

14 Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of evil;

Који се радују зло чинећи, и играју у злим опачинама;

15 Who are crooked in their ways, and perverse in their paths:

Којих су путеви криви, и сами су опаки на стазама својим;

16 To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words;

Избављајући те од жене туђе, од туђинке, која ласка својим речима,

17 Which forsaketh the friend of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God:

Која оставља вођу младости своје, и заборавља завет Бога свог.

18 For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead:

Јер к смрти води дом њен, и к мртвима стазе њене.

19 None that go unto her return again, neither do they attain unto the paths of life:

Ко год уђе к њој не враћа се, нити излази на пут животни.

20 That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous.

Зато ходи путем добрих, и држи се стаза праведничких.

21 For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it.

Јер ће праведници наставати на земљи, и безазлени ће остати на њој.

22 But the wicked shall be cut off from the land, and they that deal treacherously shall be rooted out of it.

А безбожни ће се истребити са земље, и безаконици ће се ишчупати из ње.
