Nehemiah 7
1 Now it came to pass, when the wall was built, and I had set up the doors, and the porters and the singers and the Levites were appointed,
城壁が築かれて、とびらを設け、さらに門衛、歌うたう者およびレビびとを任命したので、
2 that I gave my brother Hanani, and Hananiah the governor of the castle, charge over Jerusalem: for he was a faithful man, and feared God above many.
わたしは、わたしの兄弟ハナニと、城のつかさハナニヤに命じて、エルサレムを治めさせた。彼は多くの者にまさって忠信な、神を恐れる者であったからである。
3 And I said unto them, Let not the gates of Jerusalem be opened until the sun be hot; and while they stand [on guard], let them shut the doors, and bar ye them: and appoint watches of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, every one in his watch, and every one [to be] over against his house.
わたしは彼らに言った、「日の暑くなるまではエルサレムのもろもろの門を開いてはならない。人々が立って守っている間に門を閉じさせ、貫の木を差せ。またエルサレムの住民の中から番兵を立てて、おのおのにその所を守らせ、またおのおのの家と向かい合う所を守らせよ」。
4 Now the city was wide and large: but the people were few therein, and the houses were not builded.
町は広くて大きかったが、その内の民は少なく、家々はまだ建てられていなかった。
5 And my God put into my heart to gather together the nobles, and the rulers, and the people, that they might be reckoned by genealogy. And I found the book of the genealogy of them which came up at the first, and I found written therein:
時に神はわたしの心に、尊い人々、つかさおよび民を集めて、家系によってその名簿をしらべようとの思いを起された。わたしは最初に上って来た人々の系図を発見し、その中にこのようにしるしてあるのを見いだした。
6 These are the children of the province, that went up out of the captivity of those that had been carried away, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away, and that returned unto Jerusalem and to Judah, every one unto his city;
バビロンの王ネブカデネザルが捕え移した捕囚のうち、ゆるされてエルサレムおよびユダに上り、おのおの自分の町に帰ったこの州の人々は次のとおりである。
7 who came with Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Azariah, Raamiah, Nahamani, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispereth, Bigvai, Nehum, Baanah. The number of the men of the people of Israel:
彼らはゼルバベル、エシュア、ネヘミヤ、アザリヤ、ラアミヤ、ナハマニ、モルデカイ、ビルシャン、ミスペレテ、ビグワイ、ネホム、バアナと一緒に帰ってきた者たちである。そのイスラエルの民の人数は次のとおりである。
8 The children of Parosh, two thousand an hundred and seventy and two.
パロシの子孫は二千百七十二人。
9 The children of Shephatiah, three hundred seventy and two.
シパテヤの子孫は三百七十二人。
10 The children of Arah, six hundred fifty and two.
アラの子孫は六百五十二人。
11 The children of Pahath-moab, of the children of Jeshua and Joab, two thousand and eight hundred [and] eighteen.
パハテ・モアブの子孫すなわちエシュアとヨアブの子孫は二千八百十八人。
12 The children of Elam, a thousand two hundred fifty and four.
エラムの子孫は一千二百五十四人。
13 The children of Zattu, eight hundred forty and five.
ザットの子孫は八百四十五人。
14 The children of Zaccai, seven hundred and threescore.
ザッカイの子孫は七百六十人。
15 The children of Binnui, six hundred forty and eight.
ビンヌイの子孫は六百四十八人。
16 The children of Bebai, six hundred twenty and eight.
ベバイの子孫は六百二十八人。
17 The children of Azgad, two thousand three hundred twenty and two.
アズガデの子孫は二千三百二十二人。
18 The children of Adonikam, six hundred threescore and seven.
アドニカムの子孫は六百六十七人。
19 The children of Bigvai, two thousand threescore and seven.
ビグワイの子孫は二千六十七人。
20 The children of Adin, six hundred fifty and five.
アデンの子孫は六百五十五人。
21 The children of Ater, of Hezekiah, ninety and eight.
ヒゼキヤの家のアテルの子孫は九十八人。
22 The children of Hashum, three hundred twenty and eight.
ハシュムの子孫は三百二十八人。
23 The children of Bezai, three hundred twenty and four.
ベザイの子孫は三百二十四人。
24 The children of Hariph, an hundred and twelve.
ハリフの子孫は百十二人。
25 The children of Gibeon, ninety and five.
ギベオンの子孫は九十五人。
26 The men of Beth-lehem and Netophah, an hundred fourscore and eight.
ベツレヘムおよびネトパの人々は百八十八人。
27 The men of Anathoth, an hundred twenty and eight.
アナトテの人々は百二十八人。
28 The men of Beth-azmaveth, forty and two.
ベテ・アズマウテの人々は四十二人。
29 The men of Kirjath-jearim, Chephirah, and Beeroth, seven hundred forty and three.
キリアテ・ヤリム、ケピラおよびベエロテの人々は七百四十三人。
30 The men of Ramah and Geba, six hundred twenty and one.
ラマおよびゲバの人々は六百二十一人。
31 The men of Michmas, an hundred and twenty and two.
ミクマシの人々は百二十二人。
32 The men of Beth-el and Ai, an hundred twenty and three.
ベテルおよびアイの人々は百二十三人。
33 The men of the other Nebo, fifty and two.
ほかのネボの人々は五十二人。
34 The children of the other Elam, a thousand two hundred fifty and four.
ほかのエラムの子孫は一千二百五十四人。
35 The children of Harim, three hundred and twenty.
ハリムの子孫は三百二十人。
36 The children of Jericho, three hundred forty and five.
エリコの人々は三百四十五人。
37 The children of Lod, Hadid, and Ono, seven hundred twenty and one.
ロド、ハデデおよびオノの人々は七百二十一人。
38 The children of Senaah, three thousand nine hundred and thirty.
セナアの子孫は三千九百三十人。
39 The priests: the children of Jedaiah, of the house of Jeshua, nine hundred seventy and three.
祭司では、エシュアの家のエダヤの子孫が九百七十三人。
40 The children of Immer, a thousand fifty and two.
インメルの子孫が一千五十二人。
41 The children of Pashhur, a thousand two hundred forty and seven.
パシュルの子孫が一千二百四十七人。
42 The children of Harim, a thousand [and] seventeen.
ハリムの子孫が一千十七人。
43 The Levites: the children of Jeshua, of Kadmiel, of the children of Hodevah, seventy and four.
レビびとでは、エシュアの子孫すなわちホデワの子孫のうちのカデミエルの子孫が七十四人。
44 The singers: the children of Asaph, an hundred forty and eight.
歌うたう者では、アサフの子孫が百四十八人。
45 The porters: the children of Shallum, the children of Ater, the children of Talmon, the children of Akkub, the children of Hatita, the children of Shobai, an hundred thirty and eight.
門衛では、シャルムの子孫、アテルの子孫、タルモンの子孫、アックブの子孫、ハテタの子孫およびショバイの子孫合わせて百三十八人。
46 The Nethinim: the children of Ziha, the children of Hasupha, the children of Tabbaoth;
宮に仕えるしもべでは、ジハの子孫、ハスパの子孫、タバオテの子孫、
47 the children of Keros, the children of Sia, the children of Padon;
ケロスの子孫、シアの子孫、パドンの子孫、
48 the children of Lebana, the children of Hagaba, the children of Salmai;
レバナの子孫、ハガバの子孫、サルマイの子孫、
49 the children of Hanan, the children of Giddel, the children of Gahar;
ハナンの子孫、ギデルの子孫、ガハルの子孫、
50 the children of Reaiah, the children of Rezin, the children of Nekoda;
レアヤの子孫、レヂンの子孫、ネコダの子孫、
51 the children of Gazzam, the children of Uzza, the children of Paseah;
ガザムの子孫、ウザの子孫、パセアの子孫、
52 The children of Besai, the children of Meunim, the children of Nephushesim;
ベサイの子孫、メウニムの子孫、ネフセシムの子孫、
53 the children of Bakbuk, the children of Hakupha, the children of Harhur;
バクブクの子孫、ハクパの子孫、ハルホルの子孫、
54 the children of Bazlith, the children of Mehida, the children of Harsha;
バヅリテの子孫、メヒダの子孫、ハルシャの子孫、
55 the children of Barkos, the children of Sisera, the children of Temah;
バルコスの子孫、シセラの子孫、テマの子孫、
56 the children of Neziah, the children of Hatipha.
ネヂアの子孫およびハテパの子孫。
57 The children of Solomon’s servants: the children of Sotai, the children of Sophereth, the children of Perida;
ソロモンのしもべであった者たちの子孫では、ソタイの子孫、ソペレテの子孫、ペリダの子孫、
58 the children of Jaala, the children of Darkon, the children of Giddel;
ヤアラの子孫、ダルコンの子孫、ギデルの子孫、
59 the children of Shephatiah, the children of Hattil, the children of Pochereth-hazzebaim, the children of Amon.
シパテヤの子孫、ハッテルの子孫、ポケレテ・ハッゼバイムの子孫、アモンの子孫。
60 All the Nethinim, and the children of Solomon’s servants, were three hundred ninety and two.
宮に仕えるしもべたちとソロモンのしもべであった者たちの子孫とは合わせて三百九十二人。
61 And these were they which went up from Tel-melah, Tel-harsha, Cherub, Addon, and Immer: but they could not shew their fathers’ houses, nor their seed, whether they were of Israel:
テルメラ、テルハレサ、ケルブ、アドンおよびインメルから上って来た者があったが、その氏族と、血統とを示して、イスラエルの者であることを明らかにすることができなかった。その人々は次のとおりである。
62 The children of Delaiah, the children of Tobiah, the children of Nekoda, six hundred forty and two.
すなわちデラヤの子孫、トビヤの子孫、ネコダの子孫であって、合わせて六百四十二人。
63 And of the priests: the children of Hobaiah, the children of Hakkoz, the children of Barzillai, which took a wife of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite, and was called after their name.
また祭司のうちにホバヤの子孫、ハッコヅの子孫、バルジライの子孫がある。バルジライはギレアデびとバルジライの娘たちのうちから妻をめとったので、その名で呼ばれた。
64 These sought their register [among] those that were reckoned by genealogy, but it was not found: therefore were they deemed polluted and put from the priesthood.
これらの者はこの系図に載った者のうちに、自分の籍をたずねたが、なかったので、汚れた者として祭司の職から除かれた。
65 And the Tirshatha said unto them, that they should not eat of the most holy things, till there stood up a priest with Urim and Thummim.
総督は彼らに告げて、ウリムとトンミムを帯びる祭司の起るまでは、いと聖なる物を食べてはならぬと言った。
66 The whole congregation together was forty and two thousand three hundred and threescore,
会衆は合わせて四万二千三百六十人であった。
67 beside their menservants and their maidservants, of whom there were seven thousand three hundred thirty and seven, and they had two hundred forty and five singing men and singing women.
このほかに男女の奴隷が七千三百三十七人、歌うたう者が男女合わせて二百四十五人あった。
68 Their horses were seven hundred thirty and six; their mules, two hundred forty and five;
その馬は七百三十六頭、その騾馬は二百四十五頭、
69 [their] camels, four hundred thirty and five; [their] asses, six thousand seven hundred and twenty.
そのらくだは四百三十五頭、そのろばは六千七百二十頭であった。
70 And some from among the heads of fathers’ [houses] gave unto the work. The Tirshatha gave to the treasury a thousand darics of gold, fifty basons, five hundred and thirty priests’ garments.
氏族の長のうち工事のためにささげ物をした人々があった。総督は金一千ダリク、鉢五十、祭司の衣服五百三十かさねを倉に納めた。
71 And some of the heads of fathers’ [houses] gave into the treasury of the work twenty thousand darics of gold, and two thousand and two hundred pounds of silver.
また氏族の長のうちのある人々は金二万ダリク、銀二千二百ミナを工事のために倉に納めた。
72 And that which the rest of the people gave was twenty thousand darics of gold, and two thousand pounds of silver, and threescore and seven priests’ garments.
その他の民の納めたものは金二万ダリク、銀二千ミナ、祭司の衣服六十七かさねであった。
73 So the priests, and the Levites, and the porters, and the singers, and some of the people, and the Nethinim, and all Israel, dwelt in their cities. And when the seventh month was come, the children of Israel were in their cities.
こうして祭司、レビびと、門衛、歌うたう者、民のうちのある人々、宮に仕えるしもべたち、およびイスラエルびとは皆その町々に住んだ。イスラエルの人々はその町々に住んで七月になった。
