Judges 10

1 And after Abimelech there arose to save Israel Tola the son of Puah, the son of Dodo, a man of Issachar; and he dwelt in Shamir in the hill country of Ephraim.

E depois de Abimelech, se levantou, para livrar a Israel, Tola, filho de Puah, filho de Dodo, homem de Issacar: e habitava em Samir, na montanha de Ephraim.

2 And he judged Israel twenty and three years, and died, and was buried in Shamir.

E julgou a Israel vinte e três anos: e morreu, e foi sepultado em Samir.

3 And after him arose Jair, the Gileadite; and he judged Israel twenty and two years.

E depois dele se levantou Jair, gileadita, e julgou a Israel vinte e dois anos.

4 And he had thirty sons that rode on thirty ass colts, and they had thirty cities, which are called Havvoth-jair unto this day, which are in the land of Gilead.

E tinha este trinta filhos, que cavalgavam sobre trinta jumentos; e tinham trinta cidades, a que chamaram Havoth-jair, até ao dia de hoje; as quais estão na terra de Gilead.

5 And Jair died, and was buried in Kamon.

E morreu Jair, e foi sepultado em Camon.

6 And the children of Israel again did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, and served the Baalim, and the Ashtaroth, and the gods of Syria, and the gods of Zidon, and the gods of Moab, and the gods of the children of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines; and they forsook the LORD, and served him not.

Então tornaram os filhos de Israel a fazer o que parecia mal aos olhos do Senhor, e serviram aos baalins, e a Astaroth, e aos deuses da Síria, e aos deuses de Sidon, e aos deuses de Moab, e aos deuses dos filhos de Ammon, e aos deuses dos philisteus: e deixaram ao Senhor, e não o serviram.

7 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of the Philistines, and into the hand of the children of Ammon.

E a ira do Senhor se acendeu contra Israel: e vendeu-os em mão dos philisteus, e em mão dos filhos de Ammon.

8 And they vexed and oppressed the children of Israel that year: eighteen years [oppressed they] all the children of Israel that were beyond Jordan in the land of the Amorites, which is in Gilead.

E naquele mesmo ano oprimiram e vexaram aos filhos de Israel: dezoito anos oprimiram a todos os filhos de Israel que estavam de além do Jordão, na terra dos amorreus, que está em Gilead.

9 And the children of Ammon passed over Jordan to fight also against Judah, and against Benjamin, and against the house of Ephraim; so that Israel was sore distressed.

Até os filhos de Ammon passaram o Jordão, para pelejar também contra Judá, e contra Benjamin, e contra a casa de Ephraim: de maneira que Israel ficou mui angustiado.

10 And the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, saying, We have sinned against thee, even because we have forsaken our God, and have served the Baalim.

Então os filhos de Israel clamaram ao Senhor, dizendo: Contra ti havemos pecado, em que deixamos a nosso Deus, e em que servimos aos baalins.

11 And the LORD said unto the children of Israel, [Did] not [I save you] from the Egyptians, and from the Amorites, from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines?

Porém o Senhor disse aos filhos de Israel: Porventura dos egípcios, e dos amorreus, e dos filhos de Ammon, e dos philisteus,

12 The Zidonians also, and the Amalekites, and the Maonites, did oppress you; and ye cried unto me, and I saved you out of their hand.

E dos sidônios, e dos amalequitas, e dos maonitas, que vos oprimiam, quando a mim chamastes, não vos livrei eu então da sua mão?

13 Yet ye have forsaken me, and served other gods: wherefore I will save you no more.

Contudo vós me deixastes a mim, e servistes a outros deuses: pelo que não vos livrarei mais.

14 Go and cry unto the gods which ye have chosen; let them save you in the time of your distress.

Andai, e clamai aos deuses que escolhestes: que vos livrem eles no tempo do vosso aperto.

15 And the children of Israel said unto the LORD, We have sinned: do thou unto us whatsoever seemeth good unto thee; only deliver us, we pray thee, this day.

Mas os filhos de Israel disseram ao Senhor: pecamos, faze-nos conforme a tudo quanto te parecer bem aos teus olhos; tão somente te rogamos que nos livres neste dia.

16 And they put away the strange gods from among them, and served the LORD: and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.

E tiraram os deuses alheios do meio de si, e serviram ao Senhor: então se angustiou a sua alma por causa do trabalho de Israel.

17 Then the children of Ammon were gathered together, and encamped in Gilead. And the children of Israel assembled themselves together, and encamped in Mizpah.

E os filhos de Ammon se convocaram, e se puseram em campo em Gilead: e também os de Israel se congregaram, e se puseram em campo em Mispah.

18 And the people, the princes of Gilead, said one to another, What man is he that will begin to fight against the children of Ammon? he shall be head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.

Então o povo, os príncipes de Gilead disseram uns aos outros: Quem será o varão que começará a pelejar contra os filhos de Ammon? ele será por Cabeça de todos os moradores de Gilead
