Job 39
1 Knowest thou the time when the wild goats of the rock bring forth? [or] canst thou mark when the hinds do calve?
क्या तू जनता है कि पहाड़ पर की जंगली बकरियाँ कब बच्चे देती हैं? या जब हिरनीयाँ बियाती हैं, तो क्या तू देख सकता है?
2 Canst thou number the months that they fulfill? or knowest thou the time when they bring forth?
क्या तू उन महीनों को जिन्हें वह पूरा करती हैं, गिन सकता है? या तुझे वह वक़्त मा'लूम है जब वह बच्चे देती हैं?
3 They bow themselves, they bring forth their young, they cast out their sorrows.
वह झुक जाती हैं; वह अपने बच्चे देती हैं, और अपने दर्द से रिहाई पाती हैं।
4 Their young ones are in good liking, they grow up in the open field; they go forth, and return not again,
उनके बच्चे मोटे ताज़े होते हैं; वह खुले मैदान में बढ़ते हैं। वह निकल जाते हैं और फिर नहीं लौटते।
5 Who hath sent out the wild ass free? or who hath loosed the bands of the wild ass?
गधे को किसने आज़ाद किया? जंगली गधे के बंद किसने खोले?
6 Whose house I have made the wilderness, and the salt land his dwelling place.
वीरान को मैंने उसका मकान बनाया, और ज़मीन — ए — शोर को उसका घर।
7 He scorneth the tumult of the city, neither heareth he the shoutings of the driver.
वह शहर के शोर — ओ — गु़ल को हेच समझता है, और हाँकने वाले की डॉट को नहीं सुनता।
8 The range of the mountains is his pasture, and he searcheth after every green thing.
पहाड़ों का सिलसिला उसकी चरागाह है, और वह हरियाली की तलाश में रहता है।
9 Will the wild-ox be content to serve thee? or will he abide by thy crib?
“क्या जंगली साँड तेरी ख़िदमत पर राज़ी होगा? क्या वह तेरी चरनी के पास रहेगा?
10 Canst thou bind the wild-ox with his band in the furrow? or will he harrow the valleys after thee?
क्या तू जंगली साँड को रस्से से बाँधकर रेघारी में चला सकता है? या वह तेरे पीछे — पीछे वादियों में हेंगा फेरेगा?
11 Wilt thou trust him, because his strength is great? or wilt thou leave to him thy labour?
क्या तू उसकी बड़ी ताक़त की वजह से उस पर भरोसा करेगा? या क्या तू अपना काम उस पर छोड़ देगा?
12 Wilt thou confide in him, that he will bring home thy seed, and gather [the corn of] thy threshingfloor?
क्या तू उस पर भरोसा करेगा कि वह तेरा ग़ल्ला घर ले आए, और तेरे खलीहान का अनाज इकट्ठा करे?
13 The wing of the ostrich rejoiceth, [but] are her pinions and feathers kindly?
“शुतरमुर्ग़ के बाज़ू आसूदा हैं, लेकिन क्या उसके पर — ओ — बाल से शफ़क़त ज़ाहिर होती है?
14 For she leaveth her eggs on the earth, and warmeth them in the dust,
क्यूँकि वह तो अपने अंडे ज़मीन पर छोड़ देती है, और रेत से उनको गर्मी पहुँचाती है;
15 And forgetteth that the foot may crush them, or that the wild beast may trample them.
और भूल जाती है कि वह पाँव से कुचले जाएँगे, या कोई जंगली जानवर उनको रौंद डालेगा।
16 She is hardened against her young ones, as if they were not hers: though her labour be in vain, [she is] without fear;
वह अपने बच्चों से ऐसी सख़्तदिली करती है कि जैसे वह उसके नहीं। चाहे उसकी मेहनत रायगाँ जाए उसे कुछ ख़ौफ़ नहीं।
17 Because God hath deprived her of wisdom, neither hath he imparted to her understanding.
क्यूँकि ख़ुदा ने उसे 'अक़्ल से महरूम रखा, और उसे समझ नहीं दी।
18 What time she lifteth up herself on high, she scorneth the horse and his rider.
जब वह तनकर सीधी खड़ी हो जाती है, तो घोड़े और उसके सवार दोनों को नाचीज़ समझती हैं।
19 Hast thou given the horse [his] might? hast thou clothed his neck with the quivering mane?
“क्या घोड़े को उसका ताक़त तू ने दी है? क्या उसकी गर्दन की लहराती अयाल से तूने मुलब्बस किया?
20 Hast thou made him to leap as a locust? the glory of his snorting is terrible.
क्या उसे टिड्डी की तरह तूने कुदाया है? उसके फ़राने की शान मुहीब है।
21 He paweth in the valley, and rejoiceth in his strength: he goeth out to meet the armed men.
वह वादी में टाप मारता है और अपने ज़ोर में ख़ुश है। वह हथियारबंद आदमियों का सामना करने को निकलता है।
22 He mocketh at fear, and is not dismayed; neither turneth he back from the sword.
वह ख़ौफ़ को नाचीज़ जानता है और घबराता नहीं, और वह तलवार से मुँह नहीं मोड़ता।
23 The quiver rattleth against him, the flashing spear and the javelin.
तर्कश उस पर खड़खड़ाता है, चमकता हुआ भाला और साँग भी;
24 He swalloweth the ground with fierceness and rage; neither believeth he that it is the voice of the trumpet.
वह तुन्दी और क़हर में ज़मीन पैमाई करता है, और उसे यक़ीन नहीं होता कि यह तुर ही की आवाज़ है।
25 As oft as the trumpet [soundeth] he saith, Aha! and he smelleth the battle afar off, the thunder of the captains, and the shouting.
जब जब तुरही बजती है, वह हिन हिन करता है, और लड़ाई को दूर से सूँघ लेता है; सरदारों की गरज़ और ललकार को भी।
26 Doth the hawk soar by thy wisdom, [and] stretch her wings toward the south?
“क्या बा'ज़ तेरी हिकमत से उड़ता है, और दख्खिन की तरफ़ अपने बाज़ू फैलाता है?
27 Doth the eagle mount up at thy command, and make her nest on high?
क्या 'उक़ाब तेरे हुक्म से ऊपर चढ़ता है, और बुलन्दी पर अपना घोंसला बनाता है?
28 She dwelleth on the rock, and hath her lodging [there], upon the crag of the rock, and the strong hold.
वह चट्टान पर रहता और वहीं बसेरा करता है; या'नी चट्टान की चोटी पर और पनाह की जगह में।
29 From thence she spieth out the prey; her eyes behold it afar off.
वहीं से वह शिकार ताड़ लेता है, उसकी आँखें उसे दूर से देख लेती हैं।
30 Her young ones also suck up blood: and where the slain are, there is she.
उसके बच्चे भी खू़न चूसते हैं, और जहाँ मक़्तूल हैं वहाँ वह भी है।”
