Job 26
1 Then Job answered and said,
Hiob antwortete und sprach:
2 How hast thou helped him that is without power! how hast thou saved the arm that hath no strength!
Wem stehest du bei? Dem, der keine Kraft hat? Hilfst du dem, der keine Stärke in Armen hat?
3 How hast thou counselled him that hath no wisdom, and plentifully declared sound knowledge!
Wem gibst du Rat? Dem, der keine Weisheit hat? und zeigest einem Mächtigen, wie er's ausführen soll?
4 To whom hast thou uttered words? and whose spirit came forth from thee?
Für wen redest du, und für wen gehet der Odem von dir?
5 They that are deceased tremble beneath the waters and the inhabitants thereof.
Die Riesen ängsten sich unter den Wassern und die bei ihnen wohnen.
Die Hölle ist aufgedeckt vor ihm, und das Verderben hat keine Decke. (Sheol h7585)
7 He stretcheth out the north over empty space, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.
Er breitet aus die Mitternacht nirgend an und hänget die Erde an nichts.
8 He bindeth up the waters in his thick clouds; and the cloud is not rent under them.
Er fasset das Wasser zusammen in seine Wolken, und die Wolken zerreißen drunter nicht.
9 He closeth in the face of his throne, and spreadeth his cloud upon it.
Er hält seinen Stuhl und breitet seine Wolken davor.
10 He hath described a boundary upon the face of the waters, unto the confines of light and darkness.
Er hat um das Wasser ein Ziel gesetzt, bis das Licht samt der Finsternis vergehe.
11 The pillars of heaven tremble and are astonished at his rebuke.
Die Säulen des Himmels zittern und entsetzen sich vor seinem Schelten.
12 He stirreth up the sea with his power, and by his understanding he smiteth through Rahab.
Vor seiner Kraft wird das Meer plötzlich ungestüm, und vor seinem Verstand erhebet sich die Höhe des Meers.
13 By his spirit the heavens are garnished; his hand hath pierced the swift serpent.
Am Himmel wird's schön durch seinen Wind, und seine Hand bereitet die gerade Schlange.
14 Lo, these are but the outskirts of his ways: and how small a whisper do we hear of him! but the thunder of his power who can understand?
Siehe, also gehet sein Tun, aber davon haben wir ein gering Wörtlein vernommen. Wer will aber den Donner seiner Macht verstehen?
