Jeremiah 45

1 The word that Jeremiah the prophet spake unto Baruch the son of Neriah, when he wrote these words in a book at the mouth of Jeremiah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah; saying,

Ο λόγος, τον οποίον Ιερεμίας ο προφήτης ελάλησε προς τον Βαρούχ, τον υιόν του Νηρίου, ότε έγραψε τους λόγους τούτους εν βιβλίω εκ στόματος του Ιερεμίου, εν τω τετάρτω έτει του Ιωακείμ υιού του Ιωσίου, βασιλέως του Ιούδα, λέγων,

2 Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, unto thee, O Baruch:

Ούτω λέγει Κύριος ο Θεός του Ισραήλ περί σου, Βαρούχ·

3 Thou didst say, Woe is me now! for the LORD hath added sorrow to my pain; I am weary with my groaning, and I find no rest.

Είπας, Ουαί εις εμέ τώρα διότι ο Κύριος επρόσθεσε πόνον επί την θλίψιν μου· απέκαμον εν τω στεναγμώ μου και ανάπαυσιν δεν ευρίσκω.

4 Thus shalt thou say unto him, Thus saith the LORD: Behold, that which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up; and this in the whole land.

Ούτω θέλεις ειπεί προς αυτόν· Ούτω λέγει ο Κύριος· Ιδού, εκείνο το οποίον ωκοδόμησα, εγώ θέλω κατεδαφίσει· και εκείνο το οποίον εφύτευσα, εγώ θέλω εκριζώσει, και σύμπασαν την γην αυτήν.

5 And seekest thou great things for thyself? seek them not: for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, saith the LORD: but thy life will I give unto thee for a prey in all places whither thou goest.

Και συ ζητείς εις σεαυτόν μεγάλα; μη ζητής· διότι, ιδού, εγώ θέλω φέρει κακά επί πάσαν σάρκα, λέγει Κύριος, αλλά την ζωήν σου θέλω δώσει εις σε ως λάφυρον, εν πάσι τοις τόποις όπου υπάγης.
