< Jeremiah 31 >

1 At that time, saith the LORD, will I be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people.
“Saa bere no,” Awurade na ose, “Mɛyɛ Israel mmusuakuw no nyinaa Nyankopɔn, na wɔbɛyɛ me nkurɔfo.”
2 Thus saith the LORD, The people which were left of the sword found grace in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest.
Nea Awurade se ni: “Nnipa a wotumi gyinaa wɔ afoa ano no benya adom wɔ nweatam so; mede ahomegye bɛbrɛ Israel.”
3 The LORD appeared of old unto me, [saying], Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
Awurade daa ne ho adi kyerɛɛ yɛn kan no na ɔkae se, “Mede ɔdɔ a ɛnsa da adɔ mo mede adɔe atwe mo.
4 Again will I build thee, and thou shalt be built, O virgin of Israel: again shalt thou be adorned with thy tabrets, and shalt go forth in the dances of them that make merry.
5 Again shalt thou plant vineyards upon the mountains of Samaria: the planters shall plant, and shall enjoy [the fruit thereof].
Bio, mobɛyɛ bobe nturo wɔ Samaria nkoko so; akuafo no bedua na wɔadi so aba.
6 For there shall be a day, that the watchmen upon the hills of Ephraim shall cry, Arise ye, and let us go up to Zion unto the LORD our God.
Da bi bɛba a, awɛmfo bɛteɛ mu wɔ Efraim nkoko so se, ‘Mommra, momma yɛnforo nkɔ Sion, nkɔ Awurade yɛn Nyankopɔn nkyɛn.’”
7 For thus saith the LORD, Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout for the chief of the nations: publish ye, praise ye, and say, O LORD, save thy people, the remnant of Israel.
Nea Awurade se ni: “Momfa ahosɛpɛw nto nnwom mma Yakob; Monteɛ mu mma amanaman mu kannifo. Momma wɔnte mo ayeyi na monka se, ‘Awurade, gye wo nkurɔfo, Israel nkae no.’
8 Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the uttermost parts of the earth, [and] with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her that travaileth with child together: a great company shall they return hither.
Hwɛ, mede wɔn befi atifi fam asase so aba na maboa wɔn ano afi nsase ano. Wɔn mu bi bɛyɛ anifuraefo, mpakye, apemfo ne mmea a wɔwɔ awoko mu; dɔm kɛse bɛsan aba.
9 They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by rivers of waters, in a straight way wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.
Wɔde osu na ɛbɛba; wɔbɛbɔ mpae bere a mede wɔn resan aba no. Mede wɔn bɛfa nsuwa ho; ɔkwan tamaa a wɔrenhintiw wɔ so, efisɛ mɛyɛ Israel agya, na Efraim yɛ me babarima piesie.
10 Hear the word of the LORD, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off; and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock.
“Muntie Awurade asɛm, mo amanaman; mommɔ no dawuru wɔ mpoano nsase a ɛwɔ akyirikyiri so se, ‘Nea ɔbɔɔ Israel petee no bɛboaboa wɔn ano na wahwɛ ne nguankuw so sɛ oguanhwɛfo.’
11 For the LORD hath ransomed Jacob, and redeemed him from the hand of him that was stronger than he.
Na Awurade begyina mu ama Yakob na wagye wɔn afi wɔn a wɔwɔ ahoɔden sen wɔn no nsam.
12 And they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow together unto the goodness of the LORD, to the corn, and to the wine, and to the oil, and to the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all.
Wɔbɛba na wɔde ahurusi ateɛ mu wɔ Sion sorɔnsorɔmmea; wɔbɛsɛpɛw wɔn ho wɔ akyɛde bebrebe a efi Awurade hɔ mu, atoko, nsa foforo ne ngo, nguantenmma ne anantwi. Wɔbɛyɛ sɛ turo a wɔagugu so nsu yiye, na wɔrenni awerɛhow bio.
13 Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, and the young men and the old together: for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow.
Afei mmabaa bɛsaw na wɔn ani agye, mmerante ne nkwakoraa nso ka ho. Mɛma wɔn awerɛhow adan anigye; mɛma wɔn ahotɔ ne ahosɛpɛw de asi awerɛhow anan mu.
14 And I will satiate the soul of the priests with fatness, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness, saith the LORD.
Mɛma asɔfo no nea ehia wɔn ama abu so, na mama mʼakyɛde bebrebe amee me nkurɔfo,” Awurade, na ose.
15 Thus saith the LORD: A voice is heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping, Rachel weeping for her children; she refuseth to be comforted for her children, because they are not.
16 Thus saith the LORD: Refrain thy voice from weeping, and thine eyes from tears: for thy work shall be rewarded, saith the LORD; and they shall come again from the land of the enemy.
Sɛɛ na Awurade se: “Hyɛ wo ho so na woansu, mia wʼani na woante nusu, efisɛ wobetua wʼadwumayɛ so ka,” Awurade na ose. “Wɔbɛsan afi atamfo no asase so aba.
17 And there is hope for thy latter end, saith the LORD; and [thy] children shall come again to their own border.
Enti anidaso wɔ hɔ ma wo daakye.” Awurade na ose. Wo mma bɛsan aba wɔn ankasa asase so.
18 I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself [thus], Thou hast chastised me, and I was chastised, as a calf unaccustomed [to the yoke]: turn thou me, and I shall be turned; for thou art the LORD my God.
“Ampa ara mate sɛ Efraim resu se, ‘Woteɛteɛɛ me so sɛ nantwi ba a nʼani yɛ den, na manya ahohyɛso. Gye me bio, na mɛsan aba, efisɛ wo ne Awurade, me Nyankopɔn.
19 Surely after that I was turned, I repented; and after that I was instructed, I smote upon my thigh: I was ashamed, yea, even confounded, because I did bear the reproach of my youth.
Meman akyi no, minyaa adwensakra; na akyiri a minyaa ntease no, mebɔɔ me koko so. Mʼanim guu ase na mefɛree, efisɛ me mmabun mu animguase da so so me.’
20 Is Ephraim my dear son? is he a pleasant child? for as often as I speak against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore my bowels are troubled for him; I will surely have mercy upon him, saith the LORD.
Efraim nyɛ me babarima dɔfo, ɔba a ɔsɔ mʼani ana? Ɛwɔ mu, metaa kasa tia no de, nanso meda so kae no. Enti me koma pere hwehwɛ no; mewɔ ayamhyehye ma no,” sɛɛ na Awurade se.
21 Set thee up waymarks, make thee guide-posts: set thine heart toward the highway, even the way by which thou wentest: turn again, O virgin of Israel, turn again to these thy cities.
“Momfa agyiraehyɛde nsisi akwan ho; munsisi akwankyerɛ afadum. Monhyɛ ɔtempɔn no nsow, ɔkwan a monam so ba. San wʼakyi, Ɔbabun Israel, san bra wo nkurow so.
22 How long wilt thou go hither and thither, O thou backsliding daughter? for the LORD hath created a new thing in the earth, A woman shall encompass a man.
Wubekyinkyin akosi da bɛn, Ɔbabea Israel sesafo? Awurade bɛyɛ ade foforo wɔ asase so, ɔbea bɛbɔ ɔbarima ho ban.”
23 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Yet again shall they use this speech in the land of Judah and in the cities thereof, when I shall bring again their captivity: The LORD bless thee, O habitation of justice, O mountain of holiness.
Sɛɛ na Asafo Awurade, Israel Nyankopɔn no se: “Sɛ mesan de wɔn fi nnommum mu ba a, nnipa a wɔwɔ Yuda asase ne nkurow so bɛsan aka saa nsɛm yi se, ‘Awurade nhyira wo, wo yiyeyɛ kuropɔn ne bepɔw kronkron.’
24 And Judah and all the cities thereof shall dwell therein together; the husbandmen, and they that go about with flocks.
Nnipa bɛbɔ mu atena ase wɔ Yuda ne ne nkurow nyinaa so, akuafo ne wɔn a wɔde wɔn nguankuw nenam.
25 For I have satiated the weary soul, and every sorrowful soul have I replenished.
Mɛma nea wabrɛ no anya ahoɔden foforo, na nea watɔ piti no nso mɛma no amee.”
26 Upon this I awaked, and beheld; and my sleep was sweet unto me.
Minyanee, na mehwɛɛ me ho hyiae. Medaa hatee.
27 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man, and with the seed of beast.
“Nna bi reba,” Awurade na ose, “A mede nnipa mma ne mmoa mma bedua Israel ne Yuda fi.
28 And it shall come to pass, that like as I have watched over them to pluck up and to break down, and to overthrow and to destroy, and to afflict; so will I watch over them to build and to plant, saith the LORD.
29 In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge.
30 But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eateth the sour grapes, his teeth shall be set on edge.
Mmom, obiara bewu wɔ ɔno ara bɔne ho; nea obedi bobe nwennaa no ɔno na ne se bɛfem.
31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
“Bere no reba,” Awurade na ose, “a me ne Israelfi ne Yudafi bɛyɛ apam foforo.
32 not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD.
Ɛrenyɛ sɛ apam a me ne wɔn agyanom yɛe no bere a misoo wɔn nsa, dii wɔn anim fii Misraim, esiane sɛ wobuu mʼapam so, wɔ bere a na meyɛ okunu ma wɔn no,” Awurade na ose.
33 But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the LORD; I will put my law in their inward parts, and in their heart will I write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people:
“Eyi ne apam a me ne Israelfi bɛyɛ saa bere no akyi,” Awurade na ose. “Mede me mmara bɛhyɛ wɔn adwene mu, na makyerɛw wɔ wɔn koma so. Mɛyɛ wɔn Nyankopɔn, na wɔbɛyɛ me nkurɔfo.
34 and they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin will I remember no more.
35 Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which stirreth up the sea, that the waves thereof roar; the LORD of hosts is his name:
Sɛɛ na Awurade se, nea ɔma owia hyerɛn adekyee, na ɔhyɛ ɔsram ne nsoromma sɛ wɔnhyerɛn anadwo; nea ɔkanyan ɛpo ma nʼasorɔkye bobɔ mu, Asafo Awurade ne ne din.
36 If these ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.
“Saa ahyɛde yi twa mu mʼani so a,” Awurade na ose, “ɛno ansa na Israel begyae ɔmanyɛ wɔ mʼanim.”
37 Thus saith the LORD: If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, then will I also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the LORD.
38 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the city shall be built to the LORD from the tower of Hananel unto the gate of the corner.
“Nna no reba,” Awurade na ose, “a wɔbɛkyekye kuropɔn yi bio ama me, fi Hananel abantenten kosi Twɔtwɔw so Pon.
39 And the measuring line shall yet go out straight onward unto the hill Gareb, and shall turn about unto Goah.
Wɔbɛtwe susuhama no mu, afi hɔ de akosi Gareb koko so, na akɔntɔn akɔ Goa.
40 And the whole valley of the dead bodies, and of the ashes, and all the fields unto the brook Kidron, unto the corner of the horse gate toward the east, shall be holy unto the LORD; it shall not be plucked up, nor thrown down any more for ever.
Obon a wɔtow afunu ne nsõ gu mu no nyinaa ne asase a ɛkɔ Kidron bon mu wɔ apuei fam, kosi apɔnkɔ pon no twɔtwɔw so bɛyɛ kronkron ama Awurade. Wɔrentutu na wɔrensɛe kuropɔn no da.”
