Jeremiah 25
1 The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah; the same was the first year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon;
Palabra que vino a Jeremías con respecto a todo el pueblo de Judá, el año cuarto de Joacim, hijo de Josías, rey de Judá, el cual era el año primero de Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia.
2 the which Jeremiah the prophet spake unto all the people of Judah, and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying:
El profeta Jeremías habló esa Palabra a todo el pueblo de Judá y a todos los habitantes de Jerusalén:
3 From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, even unto this day, these three and twenty years, the word of the LORD hath come unto me, and I have spoken unto you, rising up early and speaking; but ye have not hearkened.
Desde el año 13 de Josías, hijo de Amón, rey de Judá, hasta hoy, estos 23 años la Palabra de Yavé vino a mí. Les he hablado de madrugada y sin cesar, y ustedes no escucharon.
4 And the LORD hath sent unto you all his servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them; but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear;
Yavé les envió a todos sus esclavos profetas de madrugada y sin cesar, y no quisieron escuchar ni prestar oído
5 saying, Return ye now every one from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the LORD hath given unto you and to your fathers, from of old and even for evermore:
cuando decían: Que regrese cada uno de su mal camino y de la perversidad de sus obras, y vivirán en la tierra que Yavé les dio a ustedes y a sus antepasados para siempre.
6 and go not after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and provoke me not to anger with the work of your hands; and I will do you no hurt.
No vayan tras otros ʼelohim para servirles ni a postrarse ante ellos, ni me provoquen a ira con la obra de sus manos, y no les causaré mal.
7 Yet ye have not hearkened unto me, saith the LORD; that ye might provoke me to anger with the work of your hands to your own hurt.
Sin embargo no me escucharon, dice Yavé. Me provocaron a ira con la obra de sus manos para su propio mal.
8 Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Because ye have not heard my words,
Por tanto Yavé de las huestes dice: Por cuanto no escucharon mis Palabras,
9 behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the LORD, and [I will send] unto Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about; and I will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and an hissing, and perpetual desolations.
ciertamente Yo mandaré a todos los pueblos del norte y a Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, mi esclavo. Yavé dice: Los traeré contra esta tierra, sus habitantes y todas estas naciones de alrededor. Los destruiré y los convertiré en escarnio, burla y desolación perpetua.
10 Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the candle.
Además, desapareceré de entre ellos la voz de gozo y de alegría, la voz del novio y de la novia, el sonido de las piedras de moler y la luz de la lámpara.
11 And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.
Toda esta tierra se convertirá en ruinas y desolación. Estas gentes servirán al rey de Babilonia 70 años.
12 And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, saith the LORD, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans; and I will make it desolate for ever.
Sucederá que cuando los 70 años se cumplan, dice Yavé, castigaré al rey de Babilonia y a esa nación, la tierra de los caldeos, por la iniquidad de ellos. La convertiré en desolación perpetua.
13 And I will bring upon that land all my words which I have pronounced against it, even all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah hath prophesied against all the nations.
Llevaré contra esa tierra todas las Palabras que predije contra ella, todo lo que está escrito en este rollo, que profetizó Jeremías contra todas estas naciones.
14 For many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of them, even of them: and I will recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the work of their hands.
Porque también ella será reducida a esclavitud por muchas naciones y reyes poderosos. Le pagaré conforme a sus hechos, según la obra de sus manos.
15 For thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, unto me: Take the cup of the wine of this fury at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it.
Porque Yavé, el ʼElohim de Israel, me dice: Toma de mi mano esta copa del vino de mi furor, y da a beber de ella a todas las naciones a las cuales Yo te envío.
16 And they shall drink, and reel to and fro, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them.
Beberán y se estremecerán. Enloquecerán a causa de la espada que enviaré contra ellas.
17 Then took I the cup at the LORD’S hand, and made all the nations to drink, unto whom the LORD had sent me:
Tomé la copa de la mano de Yavé, y di a beber de ella a todas las naciones a las cuales Yavé me envió:
18 [to wit], Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and the kings thereof, and the princes thereof, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, an hissing, and a curse; as it is this day;
A Jerusalén, a las ciudades de Judá, a sus reyes y sus magistrados para convertirlos en desolación, en horror, en burla y en maldición, como están hasta hoy,
19 Pharaoh king of Egypt, and his servants, and his princes, and all his people;
a Faraón, rey de Egipto, a sus esclavos, a sus jefes, a todo su pueblo;
20 and all the mingled people, and all the kings of the land of Uz, and all the kings of the land of the Philistines, and Ashkelon, and Gaza, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod;
a toda la gente que está entre ellos; a todos los reyes de la tierra de Uz y todos los reyes de la tierra de Filistea: Ascalón, Gaza, Ecrón y el remanente de Asdod,
21 Edom, and Moab, and the children of Ammon;
a Edom y a Moab, y a los hijos de Amón;
22 and all the kings of Tyre, and all the kings of Zidon, and the kings of the isle which is beyond the sea;
a todos los reyes de Tiro, a todos los reyes de Sidón y a los reyes de las costas que están al otro lado del mar,
23 Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all that have the corners [of their hair] polled;
a Dedán, a Tema, a Buz y a todos los que se rapan las sienes;
24 and all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the mingled people that dwell in the wilderness;
a todos los reyes de Arabia y todos los reyes de la gente mezclada que habita en el desierto;
25 and all the kings of Zimri, and all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes;
a todos los reyes de Zimri; a todos los reyes de Elam y los reyes de Media;
26 and all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another; and all the kingdoms of the world, which are upon the face of the earth: and the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.
a todos los reyes del norte, tanto a los cercanos como a los lejanos, tanto a los unos como a los otros, y a todos los reinos del mundo que están sobre la superficie de la tierra. El rey de Sesac beberá después de ellos.
27 And thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Drink ye, and be drunken, and spue, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.
Les dirás: Yavé de las huestes, de Israel, dice: Beban y embriáguense, vomiten y cáiganse. No se levantarán a causa de la espada que Yo envío contra ustedes.
28 And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at thine hand to drink, then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts: Ye shall surely drink.
Sucederá que, si rehúsan tomar la copa de tu mano para beber, les dirás: Yavé de las huestes dice: Tienen que beberla,
29 For, lo, I begin to work evil at the city which is called by my name, and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the LORD of hosts.
porque ciertamente Yo comienzo a producir el mal en la ciudad sobre la cual es invocado mi Nombre, y ustedes ¿quedaran impunes? No quedarán impunes, pues Yo llamo a la espada contra todos los habitantes de la tierra, dice Yavé de las huestes.
30 Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them, The LORD shall roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he shall mightily roar against his fold; he shall give a shout, as they that tread [the grapes], against all the inhabitants of the earth.
Tú profetizarás contra ellos todas estas palabras y les dirás: Yavé ruge desde lo alto. Desde su Santa Morada da su voz. Ruge enfurecido desde su Morada. Produce un clamor como el de los que pisan el lagar, contra todos los habitantes de la tierra.
31 A noise shall come even to the end of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; as for the wicked, he will give them to the sword, saith the LORD.
Su rugido llega hasta el extremo de la tierra, porque Yavé tiene litigio contra todo mortal. Entregará los perversos a la espada, dice Yavé.
32 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great tempest shall be raised up from the uttermost parts of the earth.
Yavé de las huestes dice: Miren, la aflicción pasa de nación en nación. Una gran tempestad se levanta desde las partes más remotas de la tierra.
33 And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the face of the ground.
En aquel día los muertos estarán tendidos de un extremo de la tierra a otro por orden de Yavé. No serán llorados, ni recogidos, ni sepultados, sino serán como abono sobre la superficie de la tierra.
34 Howl, ye shepherds, and cry; and wallow yourselves [in ashes], ye principal of the flock: for the days of your slaughter are fully come, and I will break you in pieces, and ye shall fall like a pleasant vessel.
¡Giman, pastores, y clamen! ¡Revuélquense en la ceniza, pastores principales del rebaño! Llegaron los días de la matanza y de su dispersión. Ustedes caerán como un vaso precioso.
35 And the shepherds shall have no way to flee, nor the principal of the flock to escape.
No habrá refugio para los pastores, ni escape para los pastores principales del rebaño.
36 A voice of the cry of the shepherds, and the howling of the principal of the flock! for the LORD layeth waste their pasture.
Se oye el ruido del clamor de los pastores y del gemido de los pastores principales del rebaño, porque Yavé devastó sus prados.
37 And the peaceable folds are brought to silence because of the fierce anger of the LORD.
Los apacibles prados son devastados a causa del ardor de la ira de Yavé.
38 He hath forsaken his covert, as the lion: for their land is become an astonishment because of the fierceness of the oppressing [sword], and because of his fierce anger.
Como león, abandonó su guarida, porque la tierra se convirtió en horror a causa de la ira del opresor y a causa de su ardiente ira.
