Isaiah 34
1 Come near, ye nations, to hear; and hearken, ye peoples: let the earth hear, and the fulness thereof; the world, and all things that come forth of it
Ihr Völkerschaften, nahet euch zu hören, und horchet, ihr Volksstämme. Die Erde höre und was sie füllt, die Welt und all ihre Spröß-linge.
2 For the LORD hath indignation against all the nations, and fury against all their host: he hath utterly destroyed them, he hath delivered them to the slaughter.
Denn über alle Völkerschaften ist entrüstet Jehovah und ergrimmt wider all ihr Heer, verbannt hat Er sie, zum Schlachten sie gegeben.
3 Their slain also shall be cast out, and the stink of their carcases shall come up, and the mountains shall be melted with their blood.
Und hingeworfen werden ihre Erschlagenen, und von ihren Leichen steigt ihr Gestank auf, und Berge zerfließen von ihrem Blut.
4 And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fade away, as the leaf fadeth from off the vine, and as a fading [leaf] from the fig tree.
Und das ganze Himmelsheer schwindet hin, und die Himmel rollen sich zusammen wie ein Buch, und all ihr Heer fällt ab, gleich wie das Blatt vom Weinstock abfällt, und das, so vom Feigenbaum abfällt.
5 For my sword hath drunk its fill in heaven: behold, it shall come down upon Edom, and upon the people of my curse, to judgment.
Denn es schwelgt Mein Schwert im Himmel; siehe, auf Edom fährt es herab und auf das Volk Meines Bannes zum Gericht.
6 The sword of the LORD is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness, with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams: for the LORD hath a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Edom.
Das Schwert Jehovahs ist voll Blut, fett gemacht von dem Fett, vom Blut der Lämmer und der Böcke, vom Fett der Nieren der Widder; denn ein Opfer hat Jehovah zu Bozrah, und ein großes Schlachten in dem Lande Edom.
7 And the wild-oxen shall come down with them, and the bullocks with the bulls; and their land shall be drunken with blood, and their dust made fat with fatness.
Und niederstürzen werden die Einhörner mit ihnen, und die Farren samt den Gewaltigen, und schwelgen wird ihr Land im Blut und ihr Staub vom Fett fett gemacht.
8 For it is the day of the LORD’S vengeance, the year of recompence in the controversy of Zion.
Denn für Jehovah ist es ein Tag der Rache, das Jahr der Vergeltung, daß Er für Zion hadert.
9 And the streams thereof shall be turned into pitch, and the dust thereof into brimstone, and the land thereof shall become burning pitch.
Und seine Bäche verwandeln sich in Pech, und Schwefel wird ihr Staub und zu brennendem Pech ihr Land.
10 It shall not be quenched night nor day; the smoke thereof shall go up for ever: from generation to generation it shall lie waste; none shall pass through it for ever and ever.
Bei Nacht und bei Tag erlischt es nicht, ewiglich steigt Rauch davon auf, von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht ist es verödet, nimmermehr und nimmermehr geht man da hindurch.
11 But the pelican and the porcupine shall possess it; and the owl and the raven shall dwell therein: and he shall stretch over it the line of confusion, and the plummet of emptiness.
Und Pelikan und Entenadler besitzen es erblich, Eulen und Raben wohnen darin. Die Meßschnur der Verwüstung spannt Er aus über sie, die Senksteine der Verödung.
12 They shall call the nobles thereof to the kingdom, but none shall be there; and all her princes shall be nothing.
Und seine Edelleute, keine sind da, daß sie das Königtum ausriefen; und alle ihre Obersten sind zu Ende.
13 And thorns shall come up in her palaces, nettles and thistles in the fortresses thereof: and it shall be an habitation of jackals, a court for ostriches.
Und Dornen steigen auf in ihren Palästen, und Disteln und Dornsträucher in ihren Festungen. Ein Wohnort wird es der Drachen, ein Gehöft für Käuzlein.
14 And the wild beasts of the desert shall meet with the wolves, and the satyr shall cry to his fellow; yea, the night-monster shall settle there, and shall find her a place of rest.
Dort treffen sich die Zijim und die Ijim, der Waldteufel begegnet dem Genossen, auch rastet dort die Nachteule und findet für sich eine Ruhestätte.
15 There shall the arrowsnake make her nest, and lay, and hatch, and gather under her shadow: yea, there shall the kites be gathered, every one with her mate.
Dort nistet auch die Pfeilschlange, und legt, heckt aus und häuft an unter ihrem Schatten ihre Jungen; ja, dort kommen zusammen die Weihen, einer zum anderen.
16 Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall be missing, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them.
Suchet nach im Buch Jehovahs und leset. Nicht eines wird davon fehlen. Das eine wird das andere nicht vermissen; denn mit dem Munde hat Er es geboten und Sein Geist brachte sie zusammen.
17 And he hath cast the lot for them, and his hand hath divided it unto them by line: they shall possess it for ever, from generation to generation shall they dwell therein.
Und Er ließ ihnen fallen das Los und Seine Hand teilt es ihnen nach der Meßschnur zu. Sie nehmen es in ewigen Besitz; auf Geschlecht und Geschlecht wohnen sie darinnen.
