Isaiah 23
1 The burden of Tyre. Howl, ye ships of Tarshish; for it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no entering in: from the land of Kittim it is revealed to them.
Carga de Tiro. Aullad, naves de Tarsis, porque destruida es Tiro hasta no quedar casa, ni entrada; de la tierra de Quitim es revelado a ellos.
2 Be still, ye inhabitants of the isle; thou whom the merchants of Zidon, that pass over the sea, have replenished.
Callad, moradores de la isla, mercader de Sidón, que pasando el mar te abastecían.
3 And on great waters the seed of Shihor, the harvest of the Nile, was her revenue; and she was the mart of nations.
Su provisión era de las sementeras que crecen con las muchas aguas del Nilo, de la mies del río. Fue también feria de gentiles.
4 Be thou ashamed, O Zidon: for the sea hath spoken, the strong hold of the sea; saying, I have not travailed, nor brought forth, neither have I nourished young men, nor brought up virgins.
Avergüénzate, Sidón, porque el mar, la fortaleza del mar habló, diciendo: Nunca estuve de parto, ni di a luz, ni crié jóvenes, ni levanté vírgenes.
5 When the report cometh to Egypt, they shall be sorely pained at the report of Tyre.
Al llegar la noticia a Egipto, tendrán dolor de las nuevas de Tiro.
6 Pass ye over to Tarshish; howl, ye inhabitants of the isle.
Pasaos a Tarsis; aullad, moradores de la isla.
7 Is this your joyous [city], whose antiquity is of ancient days, whose feet carried her afar off to sojourn?
¿No era ésta vuestra ciudad alegre, su antigüedad de muchos días? Sus pies la llevarán a peregrinar lejos.
8 Who hath purposed this against Tyre, the crowning [city], whose merchants are princes, whose traffickers are the honourable of the earth?
¿Quién decretó esto sobre Tiro, la coronada, cuyos negociantes eran príncipes, cuyos mercaderes eran los nobles de la tierra?
9 The LORD of hosts hath purposed it, to stain the pride of all glory, to bring into contempt all the honourable of the earth.
El SEÑOR de los ejércitos lo decretó, para envilecer la soberbia de toda gloria; y para abatir todos los ilustres de la tierra.
10 Pass through thy land as the Nile, O daughter of Tarshish; there is no girdle [about thee] any more.
Pásate, como río, de tu tierra, oh hija de Tarsis; porque no tendrás ya más fortaleza.
11 He hath stretched out his hand over the sea, he hath shaken the kingdoms: the LORD hath given commandment concerning Canaan, to destroy the strong holds thereof.
Extendió su mano sobre el mar; hizo temblar los reinos. El SEÑOR mandó sobre Canaán que sus fuerzas sean debilitadas.
12 And he said, Thou shalt no more rejoice, O thou oppressed virgin daughter of Zidon: arise, pass over to Kittim; even there shalt thou have no rest.
Y dijo: No te alegrarás más, oh tú, oprimida virgen hija de Sidón. Levántate para pasar a Quitim y aun allí no tendrás reposo.
13 Behold, the land of the Chaldeans; this people is no more; the Assyrian hath appointed it for the beasts of the wilderness: they set up their towers, they overthrew the palaces thereof; he made it a ruin.
Mira, la tierra de los Caldeos. Este pueblo no era antes; Assur la fundó para los que habitaban en el desierto; levantaron sus fortalezas, edificaron sus palacios; él la convirtió en ruinas.
14 Howl, ye ships of Tarshish: for your strong hold is laid waste.
Aullad, naves de Tarsis; porque destruida es vuestra fortaleza.
15 And it shall come to pass in that day, that Tyre shall be forgotten seventy years, according to the days of one king: after the end of seventy years it shall be unto Tyre as in the song of the harlot.
Y acontecerá en aquel día, que Tiro será puesta en olvido por setenta años, como días de un rey. Después de los setenta años, cantará Tiro canción como de ramera.
16 Take an harp, go about the city, thou harlot that hast been forgotten; make sweet melody, sing many songs, that thou mayest be remembered.
Toma arpa, y rodea la ciudad, oh ramera olvidada; haz buena melodía, reitera la canción, para que tornes en memoria.
17 And it shall come to pass after the end of seventy years, that the LORD will visit Tyre, and she shall return to her hire, and shall play the harlot with all the kingdoms of the world upon the face of the earth.
Y acontecerá, que al fin de los setenta años visitará el SEÑOR a Tiro; y se tornará a su ganancia; y otra vez fornicará con todos los reinos de la tierra sobre la faz de la tierra.
18 And her merchandise and her hire shall be holiness to the LORD: it shall not be treasured nor laid up; for her merchandise shall be for them that dwell before the LORD, to eat sufficiently, and for durable clothing.
Mas su negociación, y su ganancia será consagrada al SEÑOR; no se guardará ni se atesorará, porque su negociación será para los que estuvieren delante del SEÑOR, para que coman hasta saciarse, y vistan honradamente.
