Isaiah 18
1 Ah, the land of the rustling of wings, which is beyond the rivers of Ethiopia:
Ai da terra que ensombreia com as suas asas, que está além dos rios da Ethiopia,
2 that sendeth ambassadors by the sea, even in vessels of papyrus upon the waters, [saying], Go, ye swift messengers, to a nation tall and smooth, to a people terrible from their beginning onward; a nation that meteth out and treadeth down, whose land the rivers divide!
Que envia embaixadores por mar, e em navios de junco sobre as águas, dizendo: Ide, mensageiros ligeiros, à nação arrastada e pelada, a um povo terrível desde o seu princípio e daí em diante; a uma nação de regra em regra e de atropelar, cuja terra despojam os rios
3 All ye inhabitants of the world, and ye dwellers on the earth, when an ensign is lifted up on the mountains, see ye; and when the trumpet is blown, hear ye.
Vós, todos os habitadores do mundo, e vós os moradores da terra, quando se arvorar a bandeira nos montes, o vereis; e quando se tocar a trombeta, o ouvireis.
4 For thus hath the LORD said unto me, I will be still, and I will behold in my dwelling place; like clear heat in sunshine, like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest.
Porque assim me disse o Senhor: Estarei quieto, olhando desde a minha morada, como o ardor resplandecente depois da chuva, como a nuvem do orvalho no ardor da sega.
5 For afore the harvest, when the blossom is over, and the flower becometh a ripening grape, he shall cut off the sprigs with pruning-hooks, and the spreading branches shall he take away [and] cut down.
Porque antes da sega, quando já o gomo está perfeito, e as uvas verdes amadurecem depois de brotarem, então podará os sarmentos com a podoa, e, cortando os ramos, os tirará dali.
6 They shall be left together unto the ravenous birds of the mountains, and to the beasts of the earth: and the ravenous birds shall summer upon them, and all the beasts of the earth shall winter upon them.
Juntamente serão deixados às aves dos montes e aos animais da terra: e sobre eles passarão o verão as aves de rapina, e todos os animais da terra invernarão sobre eles.
7 In that time shall a present be brought unto the LORD of hosts of a people tall and smooth, and from a people terrible from their beginning onward; a nation that meteth out and treadeth down, whose land the rivers divide, to the place of the name of the LORD of hosts, the mount Zion.
Naquele tempo trará um presente ao Senhor dos exércitos o povo arrastado e pelado, e o povo terrível desde o seu princípio e daí em diante; uma nação de regra em regra e de atropelar, cuja terra despojam os rios, ao lugar do nome do Senhor dos exércitos, ao monte de Sião.
