< Haggai 1 >

1 In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet unto Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, saying,
Ɔsram a ɛto so asia no da a edi kan wɔ Ɔhene Dario adedi afe a ɛto so abien so no, Awurade nam Odiyifo Hagai so, de asɛm maa Sealtiel babarima ne Yuda amrado Serubabel ne Ɔsɔfopanyin Yehosadak babarima Yosua.
2 Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, This people say, It is not the time [for us] to come, the time for the LORD’S house to be built.
Asɛm a Asafo Awurade ka ni: “Nnipa no reka se, ‘Bere no nya nnuu sɛ wosi Awurade fi no.’”
3 Then came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet, saying,
Afei, Awurade de saa asɛm yi faa Odiyifo Hagai so:
4 Is it a time for you yourselves to dwell in your cieled houses, while this house lieth waste?
“Saa bere yi a me fi yi abubu yi na mo de, motete mo afi a wɔaduradura mu yi ana?”
5 Now therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts: Consider your ways,
Asɛm a, Asafo Awurade ka ni: “Munnwen mo akwan ho yiye.
6 Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages [to put it] into a bag with holes.
Muduaa bebree, nanso mutwaa kakraa bi. Mudidi, nanso mommee. Monom, nanso osukɔm de mo ara. Mohyɛ ntade, nanso ɛnka mo hyew. Munya akatua, na mode gu sika nkotoku a wɔatutu mu atokuru mu.”
7 Thus saith the LORD of hosts: Consider your ways.
Asɛm a Asafo Awurade ka ni: “Munnwen mo akwan ho yiye.
8 Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the LORD.
Afei momforo nkɔ nkoko no atifi, na momfa nnua mmra mmesi me fi no. Na mʼani begye ho, na wɔahyɛ me anuonyam.” Saa na Awurade ka.
9 Ye looked for much, and, lo, it came to little; and when ye brought it home, I did blow upon it. Why? saith the LORD of hosts. Because of mine house that lieth waste, while ye run every man to his own house.
“Mo ani daa bebree so, nanso ɛyɛɛ kakraa bi. Na mode baa fie no, mihuw gui. Dɛn ntia?” Efisɛ, “me fi abubu.” Saa na Asafo Awurade ka, “bere a mo ani abere resisi mo afi no.
10 Therefore for your sake the heaven is stayed from dew, and the earth is stayed [from] her fruit.
Mo nti na ɔsoro akyere obosu agyina, na asase nso akyere mo nnɔbae.
11 And I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the corn, and upon the wine, and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground bringeth forth, and upon men, and upon cattle, and upon all the labour of the hands.
Mahyɛ ɔpɛ sɛ, ensi mo mfuw ne nkoko so; ɔpɛ a ɛbɛhyew mo atoko ne mo bobe ne mo ngodua ne mo nnɔbae, ɛbɛyɛ ɔpɛ a ebesi mo ne mo anantwi mu, na asɛe dwuma biara a mode mo nsa adi.”
12 Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the LORD their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, as the LORD their God had sent him; and the people did fear before the LORD.
Na Sealtiel babarima Serubabel, Ɔsɔfopanyin Yehosadak babarima Yosua ne Onyankopɔn nkurɔfo nkae no tiee asɛm a efi Awurade, wɔn Nyankopɔn, ne Odiyifo Hagai a Awurade, wɔn Nyankopɔn, asoma no no. Na nnipa no de osuro maa Awurade.
13 Then spake Haggai the LORD’S messenger in the LORD’S message unto the people, saying, I am with you, saith the LORD.
Na Hagai, Awurade somafo no, de saa asɛm yi a efi Awurade nkyɛn maa nkurɔfo no: “Meka mo ho.” Saa na Awurade se.
14 And the LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and did work in the house of the LORD of hosts, their God,
Ɛno nti, Awurade kanyan Sealtiel babarima Serubabel a ɔyɛ Yuda amrado, Ɔsɔfopanyin Yehosadak babarima Yosua ne Onyankopɔn nkurɔfo nkae no nyinaa. Wobefii wɔn adwuma a ɛwɔ Asafo Awurade, wɔn Nyankopɔn, fi no ase,
