Genesis 33
1 And Jacob lifted up his eyes, and looked, and, behold, Esau came, and with him four hundred men. And he divided the children unto Leah, and unto Rachel, and unto the two handmaids.
Y alzando Jacob sus ojos miró, y, he aquí, venía Esaú, y los cuatrocientos hombres con él: entonces él repartió los niños entre Lia y Raquel, y las dos siervas:
2 And he put the handmaids and their children foremost, and Leah and her children after, and Rachel and Joseph hindermost.
Y puso las siervas y sus niños delante: luego a Lia y a sus niños: y a Raquel y a José los postreros.
3 And he himself passed over before them, and bowed himself to the ground seven times, until he came near to his brother.
Y él pasó delante de ellos, e inclinóse a tierra siete veces, hasta que llegó a su hermano.
4 And Esau ran to meet him, and embraced him, and fell on his neck, and kissed him: and they wept.
Y Esaú corrió delante de él, y abrazóle, y echóse sobre su cuello, y besóle, y lloraron.
5 And he lifted up his eyes, and saw the women and the children; and said, Who are these with thee? And he said, The children which God hath graciously given thy servant.
Y alzó sus ojos, y vio las mujeres, y los niños, y dijo: ¿Qué te han estos? Y él respondió: Son los niños que Dios ha dado a tu siervo.
6 Then the handmaids came near, they and their children, and they bowed themselves.
Y llegaron las siervas, ellas y sus niños, e inclináronse.
7 And Leah also and her children came near, and bowed themselves: and after came Joseph near and Rachel, and they bowed themselves.
Y llegó Lia con sus niños, e inclináronse: y después llegó José, y Raquel, y también se inclinaron.
8 And he said, What meanest thou by all this company which I met? And he said, To find grace in the sight of my lord.
Y él dijo: ¿Qué te ha todo este escuadrón que he encontrado? Y él respondió: Porque hallase gracia en los ojos de mi señor.
9 And Esau said, I have enough; my brother, let that thou hast be thine.
Y dijo Esaú: Harto tengo yo, hermano mío; sea para ti lo que es tuyo.
10 And Jacob said, Nay, I pray thee, if now I have found grace in thy sight, then receive my present at my hand: forasmuch as I have seen thy face, as one seeth the face of God, and thou wast pleased with me.
Y dijo Jacob: No, yo te ruego; Si he ahora hallado gracia en tus ojos, toma mi presente de mi mano; que por eso he visto tu rostro, como quien ve el rostro de Dios; y házme placer.
11 Take, I pray thee, my gift that is brought to thee; because God hath dealt graciously with me, and because I have enough. And he urged him, and he took it.
Toma ahora mi bendición que te es traída, porque Dios me ha hecho merced, y todo lo que hay aquí es mío. Y porfió con él, y tomólo.
12 And he said, Let us take our journey, and let us go, and I will go before thee.
Y dijo: Anda, y vamos: y yo iré delante de ti.
13 And he said unto him, My lord knoweth that the children are tender, and that the flocks and herds with me give suck: and if they overdrive them one day, all the flocks will die.
Y él le dijo: Mi señor sabe que los niños son tiernos, y que tengo ovejas y vacas paridas: y si las fatigan, en un día morirán todas las ovejas.
14 Let my lord, I pray thee, pass over before his servant: and I will lead on softly, according to the pace of the cattle that is before me and according to the pace of the children, until I come unto my lord unto Seir.
Pase ahora mi señor delante de su siervo; y yo me iré de mi espacio al paso de la hacienda, que va delante de mí, y al paso de los niños, hasta que llegue a mi señor a Seir.
15 And Esau said, Let me now leave with thee some of the folk that are with me. And he said, What needeth it? let me find grace in the sight of my lord.
Y Esaú dijo: Dejaré ahora contigo del pueblo que viene conmigo. Y él dijo: ¿Para qué esto? Halle yo gracia en los ojos de mi señor.
16 So Esau returned that day on his way unto Seir.
Así se volvió Esaú aquel día por su camino a Seir.
17 And Jacob journeyed to Succoth, and built him an house, and made booths for his cattle: therefore the name of the place is called Succoth.
Y Jacob se partió a Socot, y edificó para sí allí casa; e hizo cabañas para su ganado: por tanto llamó el nombre de aquel lugar Socot.
18 And Jacob came in peace to the city of Shechem, which is in the land of Canaan, when he came from Paddan-aram; and encamped before the city.
Y vino Jacob sano a la ciudad de Siquem, que es en la tierra de Canaán, cuando venía de Padan-aram, y asentó delante de la ciudad.
19 And he bought the parcel of ground, where he had spread his tent, at the hand of the children of Hamor, Shechem’s father, for an hundred pieces of money.
Y compró una parte del campo, donde tendió su tienda, de mano de los hijos de Jamor padre de Siquem, por cien piezas de moneda.
20 And he erected there an altar, and called it El-elohe-Israel.
Y asentó allí altar, y llamóle: El Fuerte Dios de Israel.
