Ezekiel 29
1 In the tenth year, in the tenth [month], in the twelfth [day] of the month, the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
El año décimo, el día doce del décimo mes, recibí la palabra de Yahvé, que dijo:
2 Son of man, set thy face against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and prophesy against him, and against all Egypt:
“Hijo de hombre, vuelve tu rostro contra el Faraón, rey de Egipto, y vaticina contra él, y contra todo Egipto.
3 speak, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD: Behold, I am against thee, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great dragon that lieth in the midst of his rivers, which hath said, My river is mine own, and I have made it for myself.
Habla y di: Así dice Yahvé, el Señor: Heme aquí contra ti, Faraón, rey de Egipto, cocodrilo gigantesco que yaces en medio de sus ríos y dices: «Mi río, es mío, pues yo lo hice.»
4 And I will put hooks in thy jaws, and I will cause the fish of thy rivers to stick unto thy scales; and I will bring thee up out of the midst of thy rivers, with all the fish of thy rivers which stick unto thy scales.
Por eso pondré garfios en tus quijadas, y haré que se peguen los peces de tus ríos a tus escamas, y te sacaré de en medio de tus ríos, con todos los peces de tus ríos, pegados a tus escamas;
5 And I will leave thee [thrown] into the wilderness, thee and all the fish of thy rivers: thou shalt fall upon the open field; thou shalt not be brought together, nor gathered: I have given thee for meat to the beasts of the earth and to the fowls of the heaven,
y te echaré al desierto, con todos los peces de tus ríos; sobre la superficie del campo caerás, y no serás recogido ni levantado; a las fieras de la tierra y a las aves del cielo te daré como pasto.
6 And all the inhabitants of Egypt shall know that I am the LORD, because they have been a staff of reed to the house of Israel.
Y conocerán todos los habitantes de Egipto que Yo soy Yahvé; porque has sido un báculo de caña para los hijos de Israel.
7 When they took hold of thee by thy hand, thou didst break, and didst rend all their shoulders: and when they leaned upon thee, thou brakest, and madest all their loins to be at a stand.
Cuando te tomaban con la mano, te rompías lastimándoles todo el hombro; y cuando en ti se apoyaban, te hacías pedazos, paralizándoles todo el cuerpo.
8 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD: Behold, I will bring a sword upon thee, and will cut off from thee man and beast.
Por tanto, así dice, Yahvé, el Señor: He aquí que haré venir sobre ti la espada, y exterminaré en ti hombres y bestias.
9 And the land of Egypt shall be a desolation and a waste; and they shall know that I am the LORD: because he hath said, The river is mine, and I have made it.
Y la tierra de Egipto quedará hecha un desierto y una soledad; y conocerán que Yo soy Yahvé; porque (el Faraón) ha dicho: «El río es mío, y yo lo he hecho».
10 therefore behold, I am against thee, and against thy rivers, and will make the land of Egypt an utter waste and desolation, from the tower of Seveneh even unto the border of Ethiopia.
Por eso, he aquí que estoy contra ti y contra tus ríos, y convertiré la tierra de Egipto en desierto desolado, desde Migdol hasta Siene, y hasta los confines de Etiopía.
11 No foot of man shall pass through it, nor foot of beast shall pass through it, neither shall it be inhabited forty years.
No pasará por ella pie de hombre; ni transitará por allí pie de bestia; ni será habitada por cuarenta años.
12 And I will make the land of Egypt a desolation in the midst of the countries that are desolate, and her cities among the cities that are laid waste shall be a desolation forty years: and I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries.
Y haré del país de Egipto un yermo en medio de (otros) países yermos, y sus ciudades quedarán desoladas por cuarenta años en medio de las ciudades devastadas; y dispersaré a los egipcios entre las naciones y los esparciré por los países.
13 For thus saith the Lord GOD: At the end of forty years will I gather the Egyptians from the peoples whither they were scattered:
Pues así dice Yahvé, el Señor: Al cabo de los cuarenta años congregaré a los egipcios de entre los pueblos donde han estado dispersos.
14 and I will bring again the captivity of Egypt, and will cause them to return into the land of Pathros, into the land of their birth; and they shall be there a base kingdom.
Y pondré término al cautiverio de Egipto, y los conduciré a la tierra de Patros, tierra de su origen, y allí formarán un modesto reino.
15 It shall be the basest of the kingdoms; neither shall it any more lift itself up above the nations: and I will diminish them, that they shall no more rule over the nations.
Será más humilde que los (demás) reinos; y no se alzará más sobre las naciones; Yo los disminuiré, para que no dominen más sobre los pueblos.
16 And it shall be no more the confidence of the house of Israel, bringing iniquity to remembrance, when they turn to look after them: and they shall know that I am the Lord GOD.
No serán ya para la casa de Israel un objeto de confianza sino un recuerdo de la iniquidad (que cometieron) al volverse hacia ellos; y conocerán que Yo soy Yahvé, el Señor.”
17 And it came to pass in the seven and twentieth year, in the first [month], in the first [day] of the month, the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
El año veinte y siete, el primer día del primer mes, recibí la palabra de Yahvé, el cual me dijo:
18 Son of man, Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon caused his army to serve a great service against Tyre: every head was made bald, and every shoulder was peeled: yet had he no wages, nor his army, from Tyre, for the service that he had served against it:
“Hijo de hombre: Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, ha fatigado mucho a su ejército contra Tiro; todas las cabezas quedaron calvas y todos los hombros pelados; sin embargo, ni él ni su ejército recibieron de Tiro recompensa alguna por el servicio que prestaron contra ella.
19 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD: Behold, I will give the land of Egypt unto Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon; and he shall carry off her multitude, and take her spoil, and take her prey; and it shall be the wages for his army.
Por eso, así dice Yahvé, el Señor: He aquí que voy a dar a Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, el país de Egipto y él se llevará sus riquezas; tomará sus despojos y saqueará su botín y esta será la paga para su ejército.
20 I have given him the land of Egypt as his recompence for which he served, because they wrought for me, saith the Lord GOD.
Por su servicio prestado contra (Tiro) le he dado la tierra de Egipto; pues han trabajado para Mí, dice Yahvé, el Señor.
21 In that day will I cause an horn to bud forth unto the house of Israel, and I will give thee the opening of the mouth in the midst of them; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
En aquel día haré crecer un cuerno a la casa de Israel, y a ti te abriré la boca en medio de ellos; y conocerán que Yo soy Yahvé.”
