Exodus 21
1 Now these are the judgments which thou shalt set before them.
Estes são os estatutos que lhes proporás.
2 If thou buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing.
Se comprares um servo hebreo, seis annos servirá; mas ao setimo sairá forro, de graça.
3 If he come in by himself, he shall go out by himself: if he be married, then his wife shall go out with him.
Se entrou só com o seu corpo, só com o seu corpo sairá: se elle era homem casado, sairá sua mulher com elle.
4 If his master give him a wife, and she bear him sons or daughters; the wife and her children shall be her master’s, and he shall go out by himself.
Se seu senhor lhe houver dado uma mulher, e ella lhe houver parido filhos ou filhas, a mulher e seus filhos serão de seu senhor, e elle sairá só com sen corpo.
5 But if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free:
Mas se aquelle servo expressamente disser: Eu amo a meu senhor, e a minha mulher, e a meus filhos; não quero sair forro:
6 then his master shall bring him unto God, and shall bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an awl; and he shall serve him for ever.
Então seu senhor o levará aos juizes, e o fará chegar á porta, ou ao postigo, e seu senhor lhe furará a orelha com uma sovela; e o servirá para sempre.
7 And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do.
E se algum vender sua filha por serva, não sairá como saem os servos.
8 If she please not her master, who hath espoused her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed: to sell her unto a strange people he shall have no power, seeing he hath dealt deceitfully with her.
Se desagradar aos olhos de seu senhor, e não se desposar com ella, fará que se resgate: não poderá vendel-a a um povo estranho, usando deslealmente com ella.
9 And if he espouse her unto his son, he shall deal with her after the manner of daughters.
Mas se a desposar com seu filho, fará com ella conforme ao direito das filhas.
10 If he take him another [wife]; her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish.
Se lhe tomar outra, não deminuirá o mantimento d'esta, nem o seu vestido, nem a sua obrigação marital.
11 And if he do not these three unto her, then shall she go out for nothing, without money.
E se lhe não fizer estas tres coisas, sairá de graça, sem dar dinheiro.
12 He that smiteth a man, so that he die, shall surely be put to death.
Quem ferir alguem, que morra, elle tambem certamente morrerá;
13 And if a man lie not in wait, but God deliver [him] into his hand; then I will appoint thee a place whither he shall flee.
Porém o que lhe não armou ciladas, mas Deus o fez encontrar nas suas mãos, ordenar-te-hei um logar, para onde elle fugirá.
14 And if a man come presumptuously upon his neighbour, to slay him with guile; thou shalt take him from mine altar, that he may die.
Mas se alguem se ensoberbecer contra o seu proximo, matando-o com engano, tiral-o-has do meu altar, para que morra.
15 And he that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death.
O que ferir a seu pae, ou a sua mãe, certamente morrerá.
16 And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.
E quem furtar algum homem, e o vender, ou fôr achado na sua mão, certamente morrerá.
17 And he that curseth his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death.
E quem amaldiçoar a seu pae ou a sua mãe, certamente morrerá.
18 And if men contend, and one smiteth the other with a stone, or with his fist, and he die not, but keep his bed:
E se alguns homens pelejarem, ferindo-se um ao outro com pedra ou com o punho, e este não morrer, mas cair na cama;
19 if he rise again, and walk abroad upon his staff, then shall he that smote him be quit: only he shall pay for the loss of his time, and shall cause him to be thoroughly healed.
Se elle tornar a levantar-se e andar fóra sobre o seu bordão, então aquelle que o feriu será absolvido: sómente lhe pagará o tempo que perdera e o fará curar totalmente.
20 And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall surely be punished.
Se alguem ferir a seu servo, ou a sua serva com pau, e morrer debaixo da sua mão, certamente será castigado;
21 Notwithstanding, if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he is his money.
Porém se ficar vivo por um ou dois dias, não será castigado, porque é seu dinheiro.
22 And if men strive together, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely fined, according as the woman’s husband shall lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine.
Se alguns homens pelejarem, e ferirem uma mulher gravida, e forem causa que aborte, porém não houver morte, certamente será multado, conforme ao que lhe impuzer o marido da mulher, e pagará diante dos juizes.
23 But if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life,
Mas se houver morte, então darás vida por vida,
24 eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,
Olho por olho, dente por dente, mão por mão, pé por pé
25 burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.
Queimadura por queimadura, ferida por ferida, golpe por golpe.
26 And if a man smite the eye of his servant, or the eye of his maid, and destroy it; he shall let him go free for his eye’s sake.
E quando alguem ferir o olho do seu servo, ou o olho da sua serva, e o damnificar, o deixará ir forro pelo seu olho.
27 And if he smite out his manservant’s tooth, or his maidservant’s tooth; he shall let him go free for his tooth’s sake.
E se tirar o dente do seu servo, ou o dente da sua serva, o deixará ir forro pelo seu dente.
28 And if an ox gore a man or a woman, that they die, the ox shall be surely stoned, and his flesh shall not be eaten; but the owner of the ox shall be quit.
E se algum boi escornear homem ou mulher, e morrer, o boi será apedrejado certamente, e a sua carne se não comerá; mas o dono do boi será absolvido.
29 But if the ox were wont to gore in time past, and it hath been testified to his owner, and he hath not kept him in, but that he hath killed a man or a woman; the ox shall be stoned, and his owner also shall be put to death.
Mas se o boi d'antes era escorneador, e o seu dono foi conhecedor d'isso, e não o guardou, matando homem ou mulher, o boi será apedrejado, e tambem o seu dono morrerá.
30 If there be laid on him a ransom, then he shall give for the redemption of his life whatsoever is laid upon him.
Se lhe fôr imposto resgate, então dará por resgate da sua vida tudo quanto lhe fôr imposto,
31 Whether he have gored a son, or have gored a daughter, according to this judgment shall it be done unto him.
Quer tenha escorneado um filho, quer tenha escorneado uma filha; conforme a este estatuto lhe será feito.
32 If the ox gore a manservant or a maidservant; he shall give unto their master thirty shekels of silver, and the ox shall be stoned.
Se o boi escornear um servo, ou uma serva, dará trinta siclos de prata ao seu senhor, e o boi será apedrejado.
33 And if a man shall open a pit, or if a man shall dig a pit and not cover it, and an ox or an ass fall therein,
Se alguem abrir uma cova, ou se alguem cavar uma cova, e não a cobrir, e n'ella cair um boi ou jumento,
34 the owner of the pit shall make it good; he shall give money unto the owner of them, and the dead [beast] shall be his.
O dono da cova o pagará, ao seu dono o dinheiro restituirá; mas o morto será seu.
35 And if one man’s ox hurt another’s, that he die; then they shall sell the live ox, and divide the price of it; and the dead also they shall divide.
Se o boi de alguem ferir o boi do seu proximo, e morrer, então se venderá o boi vivo, e o dinheiro d'elle se repartirá egualmente, e tambem o morto se repartirá egualmente.
36 Or if it be known that the ox was wont to gore in time past, and his owner hath not kept him in; he shall surely pay ox for ox, and the dead [beast] shall be his own.
Mas se foi notorio que aquelle boi d'antes era escorneador, e seu dono não o guardou, certamente pagará boi por boi; porém o morto será seu
