Exodus 16
1 And they took their journey from Elim, and all the congregation of the children of Israel came unto the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their departing out of the land of Egypt.
Y partieron de Elim, y todos los hijos de Israel llegaron al desierto de Sin, que está entre Elim y Sinaí, a los quince días del segundo mes después que salieron de la tierra de Egipto.
2 And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron in the wilderness:
Y todos los hijos de Israel murmuraron contra Moisés y Aarón en él desierto;
3 and the children of Israel said unto them, Would that we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger.
Y los hijos de Israel les dijeron: Hubiera sido mejor que el Señor nos hubiera dado muerte en la tierra de Egipto, donde estábamos sentados junto a las ollas de carne y teníamos suficiente pan para nuestras necesidades; porque nos has llevado al desierto, para matar a toda esta gente por necesidad de comida.
4 Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a day’s portion every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.
Entonces el SEÑOR dijo a Moisés: Mira, yo enviaré pan del cielo para ti; y la gente saldrá todos los días y recibirá lo suficiente para las necesidades del día; para que pueda ponerlos a prueba para ver si cumplen mis leyes o no.
5 And it shall come to pass on the sixth day, that they shall prepare that which they bring in, and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily.
Y al sexto día deben preparar lo que reciben, y será el doble de lo que obtienen en los otros días.
6 And Moses and Aaron said unto all the children of Israel, At even, then ye shall know that the LORD hath brought you out from the land of Egypt:
Entonces Moisés y Aarón dijeron a todos los hijos de Israel: Esta noche les será claro que él Señor es el que los sacó de la tierra de Egipto.
7 and in the morning, then ye shall see the glory of the LORD; for that he heareth your murmurings against the LORD: and what are we, that ye murmur against us?
Y a la mañana verás la gloria del Señor; porque sus palabras de ira contra él Señor han llegado a sus oídos; ¿y qué somos nosotros para que murmuren contra nosotros?
8 And Moses said, [This shall be], when the LORD shall give you in the evening flesh to eat, and in the morning bread to the full; for that the LORD heareth your murmurings which ye murmur against him: and what are we? your murmurings are not against us, but against the LORD.
Y dijo Moisés: él Señor les dará la carne por su comida en la tarde, y en la mañana el pan en toda su medida; porque sus murmuraciones contra el Señor ha llegado a sus oídos, porque ¿qué somos? tus murmuraciones no es contra nosotros, sino contra el Señor.
9 And Moses said unto Aaron, Say unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, Come near before the LORD: for he hath heard your murmurings.
Y Moisés dijo a Aarón: Di a todo el pueblo de Israel: Acércence delante del Señor, porque él ha oído tu clamor.
10 And it came to pass, as Aaron spake unto the whole congregation of the children of Israel, that they looked toward the wilderness, and, behold, the glory of the LORD appeared in the cloud.
Y mientras Aarón hablaba a los hijos de Israel, sus ojos se volvieron en dirección al desierto, y vieron la gloria del Señor que brillaba en la nube.
11 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Y él Señor dijo a Moisés:
12 I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel: speak unto them, saying, At even ye shall eat flesh, and in the morning ye shall be filled with bread; and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God.
La quejas de los hijos de Israel ha llegado a mis oídos: diles ahora: al anochecer comerán carne, y en la mañana harán pan en toda su medida; y verán que yo soy el Señor su Dios.
13 And it came to pass at even, that the quails came up, and covered the camp: and in the morning the dew lay round about the camp.
Y sucedió que al anochecer vinieron codornices el lugar estaba cubierto de ellos; y por la mañana había rocío alrededor de las tiendas.
14 And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness a small round thing, small as the hoar frost on the ground.
Y cuando el rocío se fue, en la faz de la tierra había una pequeña cosa redonda, como pequeñas gotas de hielo en la tierra.
15 And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, What is it? for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, It is the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat.
Cuando lo vieron los hijos de Israel, se dijeron unos a otros: ¿Qué es eso? porque no tenían idea de lo que era. Y Moisés les dijo: Es el pan que él Señor les ha dado para su alimento.
16 This is the thing which the LORD hath commanded, Gather ye of it every man according to his eating; an omer a head, according to the number of your persons, shall ye take it, every man for them which are in his tent.
Esto es lo que el Señor ha dicho: cada uno tome todo lo que necesite; a razón de un omer por cada persona, permita que cada hombre tome tanto como sea necesario para su familia.
17 And the children of Israel did so, and gathered some more, some less.
Y lo hicieron los hijos de Israel, y algunos tomaron más y menos.
18 And when they did mete it with an omer, he that gathered much had nothing over, and he that gathered little had no lack; they gathered every man according to his eating.
Y cuando se midió, el que había tomado mucho no tenía nada, y el que tenía poco, tenía suficiente; cada hombre había tomado lo que pudo usar.
19 And Moses said unto them, Let no man leave of it till the morning.
Y Moisés les dijo: No se guarden nada hasta la mañana.
20 Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto Moses; but some of them left of it until the morning, and it bred worms, and stank: and Moses was wroth with them.
Pero no prestaron atención a Moisés, y algunos lo guardaron hasta la mañana, y había en él gusanos, y tenía un olor maligno; y Moisés estaba enojado con ellos.
21 And they gathered it morning by morning, every man according to his eating: and when the sun waxed hot, it melted.
Y lo levantaron cada mañana, cada uno como lo necesitó; y cuando el sol estaba alto, se había ido.
22 And it came to pass, that on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for each one: and all the rulers of the congregation came and told Moses.
Y al sexto día tomaron el doble del pan, por cada persona; y todos los príncipes del pueblo dieron aviso a Moisés de ello.
23 And he said unto them, This is that which the LORD hath spoken, Tomorrow is a solemn rest, a holy sabbath unto the LORD: bake that which ye will bake, and seethe that which ye will seethe; and all that remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning.
Y él dijo: Así dijo el Señor: Mañana es día de reposo, sábado santo para él Señor; lo que tiene que hornear se puede cocinar; y lo que se pueda hervir, hervir; lo que sobra, ponlo de un lado para guardarlo hasta la mañana.
24 And they laid it up till the morning, as Moses bade: and it did not stink, neither was there any worm therein.
Y lo guardaron hasta la mañana como Moisés había dicho; y no había olor en él, y no tenía gusanos.
25 And Moses said, Eat that today; for today is a sabbath unto the LORD: today ye shall not find it in the field.
Y Moisés dijo: Haz hoy tu comida de lo que tienes, porque este día es día de reposo para él Señor; hoy no tendrás ninguno en el campo.
26 Six days ye shall gather it; but on the seventh day is the sabbath, in it there shall be none.
Durante seis días lo obtendrás, pero en el séptimo día, el sábado, no habrá ninguno.
27 And it came to pass on the seventh day, that there went out some of the people for to gather, and they found none.
Pero todavía en el séptimo día algunas personas salieron a buscarlo, y no hubo ninguno.
28 And the LORD said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws?
Y él Señor dijo a Moisés: ¿Hasta cuándo vas a ir contra mis órdenes y mis leyes?
29 See, for that the LORD hath given you the sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.
Mira, porque el Señor te ha dado el sábado, él te da en el sexto día pan lo suficiente por dos días; que cada hombre se quede donde está; que ningún hombre salga de su lugar el séptimo día.
30 So the people rested on the seventh day.
Entonces la gente descansó en el séptimo día.
31 And the house of Israel called the name thereof Manna: and it was like coriander seed, white; and the taste of it was like wafers [made] with honey.
Y este pan fue llamado maná por Israel: era blanco, como una semilla de grano, y su sabor era como pasteles hechos con miel.
32 And Moses said, This is the thing which the LORD hath commanded, Let an omerful of it be kept for your generations; that they may see the bread wherewith I fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you forth from the land of Egypt.
Y Moisés dijo: Este es el mandato que el SEÑOR ha dado: Dejad uno o todo eso guardado para las generaciones futuras, para que vean el pan que yo te di para tu alimento en la tierra desechada, cuando te saqué. de la tierra de Egipto.
33 And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a pot, and put an omerful of manna therein, and lay it up before the LORD, to be kept for your generations.
Y Moisés dijo a Aarón: Toma una vasija, y pon en ella uno de ellos, y ponla delante de él Señor, para que la guardes para las generaciones futuras.
34 As the LORD commanded Moses, so Aaron laid it up before the Testimony, to be kept.
Así que Aarón lo guardó delante del cofre santo para que lo guardará, tal como el Señor le había ordenado a Moisés.
35 And the children of Israel did eat the manna forty years, until they came to a land inhabited; they did eat the manna, until they came unto the borders of the land of Canaan.
Y los hijos de Israel tuvieron maná por su comida durante cuarenta años, hasta que llegaron a una tierra con gente en ella, hasta que llegaron a la orilla de la tierra de Canaán.
36 Now an omer is the tenth part of an ephah.
Ahora un omer es la décima parte de un efah.
