Daniel 8
1 In the third year of the reign of king Belshazzar a vision appeared unto me, even unto me Daniel, after that which appeared unto me at the first.
Im dritten Jahre der Regierung Belschazzars, des Königs, erschien mir, Daniel, ein Gesichte nach dem, das mir zu Anbeginn erschienen war.
2 And I saw in the vision; now it was so, that when I saw, I was in Shushan the palace, which is in the province of Elam; and I saw in the vision, and I was by the river Ulai.
Und ich sah in dem Gesichte, und es geschah, da ich es sah, da war ich auf der Burg Susan, die in der Landschaft Elam ist, und ich sah in dem Gesichte und war an dem Flusse Ulai.
3 Then I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there stood before the river a ram which had two horns: and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and the higher came up last.
Und ich hob meine Augen auf und sah, und siehe, ein Widder stand vor dem Flusse und hatte zwei Hörner, und die Hörner waren hoch, und das eine war höher als das zweite, und das höhere wuchs später herauf.
4 I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; and no beasts could stand before him, neither was there any that could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and magnified himself.
Und ich sah den Widder stoßen dem Meere zu und nach Mitternacht und nach Mittag, und keine Tiere konnten vor ihm bestehen und niemand erretten von seiner Hand, und tat nach seinem Wohlgefallen und machte sich groß.
5 And as I was considering, behold, an he-goat came from the west over the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes.
Und ich betrachtete ihn, und siehe, ein Bock von den Ziegen kam vom Abend über die Oberfläche der ganzen Erde daher und berührte die Erde nicht; und der Bock hatte ein ansehnliches Horn zwischen seinen Augen.
6 And he came to the ram that had the two horns, which I saw standing before the river, and ran upon him in the fury of his power.
Und er kam zu dem Widder mit den zwei Hörnern, den ich vor dem Flusse stehen sah, und lief auf ihn zu im Grimm seiner Kraft.
7 And I saw him come close unto the ram, and he was moved with choler against him, and smote the ram, and brake his two horns; and there was no power in the ram to stand before him: but he cast him down to the ground, and trampled upon him; and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.
Und ich sah, daß er den Widder erreichte und sich gegen ihn erbitterte, und den Widder schlug, und seine zwei Hörner zerbrach, so daß der Widder keine Kraft hatte vor ihm zu stehen, und er ihn zur Erde warf und zerstampfte, und niemand den Widder aus seiner Hand errettete.
8 And the he-goat magnified himself exceedingly: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and instead of it there came up four notable [horns] toward the four winds of heaven.
Und der Bock von den Ziegen tat sehr groß; da er aber mächtig wurde, zerbrach das große Horn, und es kamen vier ansehnliche anstatt seiner herauf nach den vier Winden der Himmel.
9 And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the glorious [land].
Und aus dem einen von ihnen kam ein kleines Horn hervor, und ward über die Maßen groß gen Mittag und gegen Aufgang und gegen die Zierde.
10 And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and some of the host and of the stars it cast down to the ground, and trampled upon them.
Und es wurde groß bis zum Heer der Himmel, und fällte zur Erde etliche von dem Heere und von den Sternen, und zerstampfte sie.
11 Yea, it magnified itself, even to the prince of the host; and it took away from him the continual [burnt offering], and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.
Und bis zum Obersten des Heeres machte es sich groß, und nahm Ihm weg das Beständige und warf hinab die Stätte Seiner Heiligkeit.
12 And the host was given over [to it] together with the continual [burnt offering] through transgression; and it cast down truth to the ground, and it did [its pleasure] and prospered.
Und das Heer ward hingegeben samt dem Beständigen zur Übertretung, und man warf die Wahrheit zur Erde, und tat es und es gelang.
13 Then I heard a holy one speaking; and another holy one said unto that certain one which spake, How long shall be the vision [concerning] the continual [burnt offering], and the transgression that maketh desolate, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?
Und ich hörte einen Heiligen reden, und ein Heiliger sprach zu einem, der da redete: Wie lange ist dies Gesichte, das Beständige und die verwüstende Übertretung, das Heiligtum hinzugeben und das Herr zum Zerstampfen?
14 And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred evenings [and] mornings; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.
Und Er sprach zu mir bis zum Abend, zum Morgen, zweitausend und dreihundert; so wird das Heilige gerechtfertigt.
15 And it came to pass, when I, even I Daniel, had seen the vision, that I sought to understand it; and, behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man.
Und es geschah, als ich, Daniel, das Gesichte sah, und dessen Verständnis suchte, und siehe, da stand einer mir gegenüber, anzusehen wie ein Mann.
16 And I heard a man’s voice between [the banks of] Ulai, which called, and said, Gabriel, make this man to understand the vision.
Und ich hörte die Stimme eines Menschen zwischen dem Ulai hervor, und er rief und sprach: Gabriel, laß diesen das Gesichte verstehen.
17 So he came near where I stood; and when he came, I was affrighted, and fell upon my face: but he said unto me, Understand, O son of man; for the vision belongeth to the time of the end.
Und er kam daneben, wo ich stand; und wie er kam, ward ich verstört und fiel auf mein Angesicht. Und er sprach zu mir: Merke auf, Menschensohn, denn das Gesichte ist für die Zeit des Endes.
18 Now as he was speaking with me, I fell into a deep sleep, with my face toward the ground: but he touched me, and set me upright.
Und wie er mit mir redete, fiel ich im tiefen Schlaf auf mein Angesicht zur Erde; und er rührte mich an, und ließ mich stehen, daß ich stand.
19 And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the latter time of the indignation: for it belongeth to the appointed time of the end.
Und er sprach: Siehe, ich tue dir kund, was geschehen wird auf die Letzte des Unwillens: denn zur bestimmten Zeit ist das Ende.
20 The ram which thou sawest that had the two horns, they are the kings of Media and Persia.
Der Widder mit den zwei Hörnern, den du gesehen hast, sind die Könige von Medien und Persien.
21 And the rough he-goat is the king of Greece: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king.
Und der Bock von den Ziegen ist der König von Griechenland, und das große Horn zwischen seinen Augen, er ist der erste König.
22 And as for that which was broken, in the place whereof four stood up, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not with his power.
Und daß es zerbrochen ward und vier statt seiner aufstanden, sind vier Königreiche, die aus der Völkerschaft aufstehen, aber nicht mit seiner Kraft.
23 And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.
Und in der Letzte ihres Reiches, wenn die Übertreter ihr Maß erfüllt haben, wird ein König dastehen, frech von Angesicht und der Tücke versteht.
24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power; and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper and do [his pleasure]: and he shall destroy the mighty ones and the holy people.
Und gewaltig wird seine Kraft, aber nicht durch seine eigene Kraft, und er wird wunderlich verderben, und es wird ihm gelingen, daß er es tue, und er wird verderben Gewaltige und das Volk der Heiligen.
25 And through his policy he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and in [their] security shall he destroy many: he shall also stand up against the prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.
Und durch seine Klugheit, und weil ihm Trug gelingt unter seiner Hand, und er wird in seinem Herzen groß tun, wird er in ihrer Sicherheit viele verderben, und stehen wider den Obersten der Obersten, und wird ohne Hand zerbrochen.
26 And the vision of the evenings and mornings which hath been told is true: but shut thou up the vision; for it belongeth to many days [to come].
Und das Gesichte des Abends und des Morgens, wovon gesagt worden ist, das ist Wahrheit; aber du sollst das Gesichte verschließen; denn es ist für viele Tage.
27 And I Daniel fainted, and was sick certain days; then I rose up, and did the king’s business: and I was astonished at the vision, but none understood it.
Ich aber, Daniel, war dahin, und war mehrere Tage krank, aber ich stand auf und tat das Geschäft des Königs, und ich erstaunte ob der Erscheinung, und niemand verstand es.
