2 Samuel 21
1 And there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David sought the face of the LORD. And the LORD said, It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he put to death the Gibeonites.
Y en los días de David hubo hambre por tres años consecutivos. Y David consultó al SEÑOR, y el SEÑOR le dijo: Es por Saúl, y por aquella casa de sangre; porque mató a los gabaonitas.
2 And the king called the Gibeonites, and said unto them; (now the Gibeonites were not of the children of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorites; and the children of Israel had sworn unto them: and Saul sought to slay them in his zeal for the children of Israel and Judah: )
Entonces el rey llamó a los gabaonitas, y les habló. (Los gabaonitas no eran de los hijos de Israel, sino del residuo de los amorreos, a los cuales los hijos de Israel habían hecho juramento; mas Saúl había procurado matarlos con motivo de celo por los hijos de Israel y de Judá).
3 and David said unto the Gibeonites, What shall I do for you? and wherewith shall I make atonement, that ye may bless the inheritance of the LORD?
Dijo, pues, David a los gabaonitas: ¿Qué os haré, y con qué expiaré para que bendigáis a la heredad del SEÑOR?
4 And the Gibeonites said unto him, It is no matter of silver or gold between us and Saul, or his house; neither is it for us to put any man to death in Israel. And he said, What ye shall say, that will I do for you.
Y los gabaonitas le respondieron: No tenemos nosotros pleito sobre plata ni sobre oro con Saúl, y con su casa; ni queremos que muera hombre de Israel. Y él les dijo: Lo que vosotros dijereis os haré.
5 And they said unto the king, The man that consumed us, and that devised against us, [that] we should be destroyed from remaining in any of the borders of Israel,
Y ellos respondieron al rey: Aquel hombre que nos destruyó, y que maquinó contra nosotros; asolaremos, que no quede nada de él en todo el término de Israel.
6 let seven men of his sons be delivered unto us, and we will hang them up unto the LORD in Gibeah of Saul, the chosen of the LORD; And the king said, I will give them.
Dénsenos siete varones de sus hijos, para que colgarlos al SEÑOR en Gabaa de Saúl, el escogido del SEÑOR. Y el rey dijo: Yo los daré.
7 But the king spared Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan the son of Saul, because of the LORD’S oath that was between them, between David and Jonathan the son of Saul.
Y el rey perdonó a Mefi-boset, hijo de Jonatán, hijo de Saúl, por el juramento del SEÑOR que hubo entre ellos, entre David y Jonatán hijo de Saúl.
8 But the king took the two sons of Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, whom she bare unto Saul, Armoni and Mephibosheth; and the five sons of Michal the daughter of Saul, whom she bare to Adriel the son of Barzillai the Meholathite:
Mas tomó el rey dos hijos de Rizpa hija de Aja, los cuales ella había dado a luz a Saúl, a saber, a Armoni y a Mefi-boset; y cinco hijos de Mical hija de Saúl, los cuales ella había dado a luz a Adriel, hijo de Barzilai meholatita;
9 And he delivered them into the hands of the Gibeonites, and they hanged them in the mountain before the LORD, and they fell [all] seven together: and they were put to death in the days of harvest, in the first days, at the beginning of barley harvest.
y los entregó en manos de los gabaonitas, y ellos los colgaron en el monte delante del SEÑOR; y murieron juntos aquellos siete, lo cuales fueron muertos en el tiempo de la siega, en los primeros días, en el principio de la siega de las cebadas.
10 And Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took sackcloth, and spread it for her upon the rock, from the beginning of harvest until water was poured upon them from heaven; and she suffered neither the birds of the air to rest on them by day, nor the beasts of the field by night.
Tomando luego Rizpa hija de Aja un saco, se lo tendió sobre el peñasco, desde el principio de la siega hasta que llovió sobre ellos agua del cielo; y no dejó a ninguna ave del cielo asentarse sobre ellos de día, ni bestias del campo de noche.
11 And it was told David what Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, the concubine of Saul, had done.
Y fue dicho a David lo que hacía Rizpa hija de Aja, concubina de Saúl.
12 And David went and took the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son from the men of Jabesh-gilead, which had stolen them from the street of Beth-shan, where the Philistines had hanged them, in the day that the Philistines slew Saul in Gilboa:
Entonces David fue, y tomó los huesos de Saúl y los huesos de Jonatán su hijo, de los varones de Jabes de Galaad, que los habían hurtado de la plaza de Bet-sán, donde los habían colgado los filisteos, cuando deshicieron los filisteos a Saúl en Gilboa;
13 and he brought up from thence the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son; and they gathered the bones of them that were hanged.
y tomó los huesos de Saúl y los huesos de Jonatán su hijo; y juntaron también los huesos de los colgados,
14 And they buried the bones of Saul and Jonathan his son in the country of Benjamin in Zela, in the sepulchre of Kish his father: and they performed all that the king commanded. And after that God was entreated for the land.
y sepultaron los huesos de Saúl y los de su hijo Jonatán en tierra de Benjamín, en Sela, en el sepulcro de Cis su padre; e hicieron todo lo que el rey había mandado. Después se aplacó Dios con la tierra.
15 And the Philistines had war again with Israel; and David went down, and his servants with him, and fought against the Philistines: and David waxed faint.
Y los filisteos volvieron a hacer la guerra a Israel, y David descendió y sus siervos con él, y pelearon con los filisteos; y David se cansó.
16 and Ishbi-benob, which was of the sons of the giant, the weight of whose spear was three hundred [shekels] of brass in weight, he being girded with a new [sword], thought to have slain David.
E Isbi-benob, el cual era de los hijos del gigante, y el peso de cuya lanza era de trescientos siclos de bronce, y tenía él ceñida una nueva espada, este había determinado de herir a David.
17 But Abishai the son of Zeruiah succoured him, and smote the Philistine, and killed him. Then the men of David sware unto him, saying, Thou shalt go no more out with us to battle, that thou quench not the lamp of Israel.
Mas Abisai hijo de Sarvia le socorrió, e hirió al filisteo, y lo mató. Entonces los varones de David le juraron, diciendo: Nunca más de aquí adelante saldrás con nosotros a batalla, para que no apagues la lámpara de Israel.
18 And it came to pass after this, that there was again war with the Philistines at Gob: then Sibbecai the Hushathite slew Saph, which was of the sons of the giant.
Otra segunda guerra hubo después en Gob contra los filisteos; entonces Sibecai husatita hirió a Saf, que era de los hijos del gigante.
19 And there was again war with the Philistines at Gob; and Elhanan the son of Jaare-oregim the Beth-lehemite slew Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver’s beam.
Otra guerra hubo en Gob contra los filisteos, en la cual Elhanán, hijo de Jaare-oregim de Belén, hirió a Goliat geteo, el asta de cuya lanza era como el rodillo de un telar.
20 And there was again war at Gath, where was a man of great stature, that had on every hand six fingers, and on every foot six toes, four and twenty in number; and he also was born to the giant.
Después hubo otra guerra en Gat, donde hubo un varón de grande altura, el cual tenía doce dedos en las manos, y otros doce en los pies, veinticuatro en todos; y también era de los hijos del gigante.
21 And when he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimei David’s brother slew him.
Este desafió a Israel, y lo mató Jonatán, hijo de Simea hermano de David.
22 These four were born to the giant in Gath; and they fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.
Estos cuatro le habían nacido al gigante en Gat, los cuales cayeron por la mano de David, y por la mano de sus siervos.
